Fred use a pick coz he's a guitar player...btw the dragonforce bass part are the most simple i heard and its similar to their rythm guitar part....1 note or 1 chord playing with alternate stroke at 200bpm.all...you can play all DF songs in all Albums with only 1 chord !

The bassist for Angra IS fucking amazing and an exceptional case, his form of tremelo is very subtle, but they are thrash metal not power metal. Mr Big is a hard rock/heavy metal/power pop band with no sound even similar to power metal. As far as dream theater there is no point comparing their sound with any other band considering how different they are in style.

I agree with you. I like Last Journey Home, but this song is the best on the album in my opinion (I dunno Warrior Inside is awesome too). Fred, the bassist wanted this as the vid but I guess everyone else wanted Last Journey Home.

From what I've experienced I think people like Last Journey home a lot (more importantly I think they like it a lot). I did see an interview where Herman said he was for the idea of a live DVD at least that over a live album.
Its a fairly new song, from my experience, it takes about 5 shows to actually get them really good. Thats just me though, might be different for them.
I'd be amazed if singing songs in that high a pitch, and sustaining it for a whole show, as well as talking in between, shouting at the crowd etc didn't take it's toll on him!

They've always been great, just their live act needed improvement, and as we've seen it's come a long way! They've left 06 in the past and moved on, now they're playing a lot better live and jumping around less (I don't think it helped them tbh).
Anyway, it's so good to see it. I've always been a fan...but there always was this "extra" bit. And I believe that Ultra Beatdown really fills that. Dragonforce is epic, and will rock forever! ;)

@MultiRiffer the solos I think are the biggest attraction (at least at first) to this band and there is very little that is simple about those solos.
The melodies are very good quality (for the songs and the solos. the solos are like little songs because their melodies are so good)

Its a fairly new song, from my experience, it takes about 5 shows to actually get them really good. Thats just me though, might be different for them.

I agree. As good as the vids are, it doesn't give the same experience, and doesn't do the show as much justice as actually being there!

The singer has to strain himself sooooo much!!! Operation g&p took a toll on him near the end during valley of the damned... :(

I'd be amazed if singing songs in that high a pitch, and sustaining it for a whole show, as well as talking in between, shouting at the crowd etc didn't take it's toll on him!

They've always been great, just their live act needed improvement, and as we've seen it's come a long way! They've left 06 in the past and moved on, now they're playing a lot better live and jumping around less (I don't think it helped them tbh).

Anyway, it's so good to see it. I've always been a fan...but there always was this "extra" bit. And I believe that Ultra Beatdown really fills that. Dragonforce is epic, and will rock forever! ;)
