I had to do a school humanaties project on mummification and i was struggling to find a video source and your video gave me an extensive amount of knowledge about mummification thankyou it really helped me
@Pagyptsian When I was younger I mummified halloween toy skeletons and action figures, I tried to follow the mummification steps as closely as possible, lol. Great video!
oromos, amhara, tigre, tigranya, tigray, and harari all suffer from the disjunction between place & language, place & displacement, therefore their only solution to retaining a non-indegenious land such as ethiopia, an artificial country whose its above mentioned inhabitants were imported from yemen, is clinging to a belief in the adequacy of numbers, in the sense that ethiopians are 80 million while Somalis are only 20 million. oromos are a collection of low cast tribes banished by Somalis
i love egyptian culture i tell people i am egyptian ,,,,i went thru 4 PRINCE OF EGYPT TPAES AND 2 JOSEPH KING OF DREAMS I LEAR HOW TO BELLYDANCE GOT BOOKS PAPYRUS PAPER..I NEVA SAW AN EGYPTIAN IN THE USA....MA MOM USE TO WORK WITH ONE HE WAS CHIRSTIAN ONLI 10% IS..AND HE AND HIS WIFE AND LIL SON WANTED 2 MEET ME WEN HE SAW MA PICC HE THOUGHT I WAS FROM AFRICA AND HIS WIFE MADE ME THIS EGYPTIAN PIC OF NEFETARI ON PAPYRUS
this sequence you showed is one of the many combinations for mummification, the osiris picture painted may not have been in all cases: king tut was not found in bandages
@Pagyptsian thanks for your time!! :) your video helped a lot!! im preparing a project for school...a history one! i choose the Egyptians!! im reading a book: the ptolemies the house of the eagle. its realy ejoyable!!
Very good job....only thing is members of the royal family had their arms bent across the chest isntead of down low...a bent right arm across the chest meant "pharoah"...bent left arm meant queen or female royal family member.
One little remark, the mummification process that you show in these magnificent pictures, was bestowed for the wealthier class. Ordinary or common people could not afford a process and burial as this. They were buried as you show in your first picture. A simple grave in the dessert, with some meager offerings. But I must say, great work you did, one of the best representations about mummification Ive ever seen.
@Ranoferhotep Yeah I learnt about that. What I don't know though is where were they buried exactly? You hear so much about the King's tombs but not much about the others in the non-royal yet wealthy class.
@Pagyptsian, There are different burial sites known, the oldest in Sakkarah and Gizeh, but also in Upper Egypt, near the Nubian border, are splendid tombs rediscovered. On the west bank of the Nile, there is another valley known as the valley of the nobles a burial site where the wealthier people of Thebes were buried. And off course the valley of the queens which was reserved for queens, but also princes and princesses of Egypt.
@Pagyptsian My pleasure, I had to be brief, we dont have that many characters we can type here. Trough Google, there is plenty to be found about the ancient tombs, sometimes tricky to find the Wright keywords.
May I use your video on my blog? My blog is in Dutch, but I can post the translation of your text in Dutch. With credits

That's ok ^^ It fascinates me so I want to learn. I know that's one way they did it (books all vary in description), diddn't they have a special table with a type of basin attached for it to trickle into?
Well I have SO much to learn, but yeah I have researched a lot, since I was like eight! I want to be an Egyptologist so this is my passion :D Thanks for the compliment =]
Great video! When I used to live in manchester I visited the egyptian exhibit at the museum like at least once a week! They have like 2 mummies & loads of sarcophagus'..its really cool!...oh..there i go again.....I'm so weird...x
internal organs were left inside the body, not taken out
missnatasha992 2 months ago
@missnatasha992 It depends entirely on the time period. this is the generic example of mummification but it was different on each dynasty and period.

natron= salt...? isnt it?
alexeidig 1 year ago
@alexeidig Natural Natron is only found in Egypt I believe. But modern Kemetics can recreate it using 1.100 Grams of Bicarbonate (Baking Soda)
2.25 Grams of Sodium Chloride (Table salt, preferably Kosher, do not use Sea Salt).

If the soul was judged not so good, where did it spend eternity according to the Egyptians. Did they have a hell?
fliegeroh 2 years ago
That kind of souls were eaten by Ammit, i think.
93Azzael7 2 years ago 2
Yep =]
x
Pagyptsian 2 years ago
If their hearts were heavier than the feather of Maat then their hearts (and thus souls) were eaten by Ammut/Ammit.
In some beliefs the souls who did not make it to the egyptian kind of enlightenment would be forever lost in the duat.
Others lost their soul forever and could never return. That for them was worse than hell. =]
