One thing you can also mention is to get the thinnest lenses available with anti-reflective coating. It makes the glasses lighter and more comfortable to wear, and the anti-reflective coating keeps those annoying reflections off the glass to a minimum. i've never heard of switching up glasses! I look HORRIBLE in plastic ones though-i need the thinner meatal ones and they are more expensive. Hopefully soon i will be able to get some (i went blind 5 years ago and am getting close to recovering as much vision as possible and then i get "measured" for glasses! it will be exciting to see somewhat close to normal again!)

One tip that might be obvious... if you also wear contacts, wear them when you go to pick out the glasses, especially if your vision is as bad as mine!
