  • i just bought a kitchen craft griddle. I was a bit dissapointed as the smooth side was not as smooth as cast iron frying pans and was like fine sandpaper and when using a tissue or cloth to dry it or oil it it picks up fibres from the cloth. Did you find this lodge griddle the smooth side was as smooth as a cast iron pan and not rough like fine sand paper. MY only dislike with double sided griddles is the oil on both sides means it burns when heated and lots of smoke.

  • @210482fmj Yeah I prefer single sided griddles for the same reason. The surface of any cast iron pan/pot will have a texture like fine sand because they are cast in sand. That surface wears down and becomes clogged with patina and iron oxide over time. Eventually a cast iron skillet is a joy to cook with.

  • I've been looking for a steel version of one of these but cannot find one.

  • @210482fmj Probably going to be a little harder to find I'd bet. Let me know what you come up with.

  • @210482fmj "Bing" search... "Camp Chef 13'' x 13'' Polished Steel Fry Griddle"

  • @2:06 Now that’s a white man fire..... Yep like my lodge iron utensils. AND "grill grates" are tough to keep as nice as the cast iron utensils.

  • never to cold to grill (:

  • Great review- I'm convinced. Thanks brother! :)

  • good exam of the griddle, thanks
