ok to answer a few of the questions the only thing we did for bait was crumble up some pringles and put them in the bottom then we poked pin holes around the bottom so they could smell the goods inside. and yes there is a tail still at the top of the bottle when we checked on it the next morning there was three mice in the bottom.

i should have posted the end result when i checked my camera footage i had over 200 videos and when i looked in the bottle 12 hours after setting it i had 3 mice in the bottom. i no i should have posted that image so you could see the result of all of them.

We had a bag of dog food that we emptied into the food bin. We were going to throw the bag out in the morning. A mouse got into the bag and couldn't get out, like in this video. I heard a bunch of scratching in the morning and was so happy because that mouse had managed to eat the bait on the mouse traps without getting caught. We called that mouse a ninja mouse, but I guess once it got in the bag, it wasn't so ninja after all.
