@gladheateher4now you should check with water evaporation experts, is evaporating slower according to about 50 yrs, research, these people have been recording for land, irrigation, retention, for farming. pretty good source if you ask me. they think the particulates in the clouds are the cause, holding heat in and reflecting the rays out. double whammy. personally I think jets are the main cause. on 9/11 there was a very significant change to support this.

It's not just about the arctic... It's about the whole world! The areas of no O3 molecules "ozone" is expanding. It starts at the arctic, and the area experiencing climate change expands until it reaches the equator. Then the maximum heat that can be reached hits the equator and recedes. Then next thing we know, Earth is to hot for most life forms, and mankind was too busy watching some kid named Charlie biting his brother's finger to notice!

It starts at the arctic because there is nothing that could be "inserted" in the ozon-layer. And: without the magnetic field of earth (which doesn't have effect in the polar regions) O3 can't be built in the needed hights. O3 is very unstable and crushed by sunlight's radiation so it's important, that it's combined near the ozon layer. But therefor O2 must come near this layer. That's simply not possible near the poles because there are no upstream winds, no O2-building plants or bacteria.

All those who say climate change caused by humans is real say that our 3% output of total CO2 emissions (which are a really small portion of the atmosphere) will destroy the world. And on the other hand: CO2 is used as a cooling gas. Why should a cooling gas heat up earth? My car throughs out less CO2 than a junior-highschool-class opening their Coke bottles. And most of the CO2 comes out of the oceans. CO2 is absorbed by the oceans during cold-periods and emissioned in heating periods which counters the warming. AND CO2 is necessary for plants. No CO2 = no plants, no plants = no life. CO2 is necessary and the more CO2 there is, the better plants grow.

jimfiren- if you did more research you would see that in 1970 the technology available was no where near as accurate as it is today in researching the polar bear population. Meaning the readings taken back then were mere approximations and not accurate. Also the marine mammal protection act passed in 1972 helped the polar bear increase and had nothing to do with the climate.
