  • I like the meer! Great footage!

  • Excellent footage there, mate. Sadly, some of the pipe-smokers I've 'met' online aren't content to simply watch and admire such creatures - they feel the need to destroy them, too! Thanks very much for sharing such splendid sightings :)

  • @KevLaTtolya

Well, I can understand killing them if you're in need of sustenance. But, for sport? No way.

I'm glad you enjoyed the footage.

    Many thanks for watching!

  • Great footage and music!

  • @bahumutx

Thank you kindly and thanks for watching!

  • Nice video..Elk are amazing looking animals. I am glad the intro to the park is going well for them.

The Smokey Mtns are insanely beautiful. I stayed in Boone, NC once (a bit north of the park) but, what a great area...

    Cheers!

  • @PipeSmokeontheHudson

I've not visited Boone. I'll have to one of these summers. What was amazing was how cool it got at night for July. Mid to upper 50's when we went. I loved it.

    Thanks for watching!

  • smokey mountains, gotta be the best place in the world to smoke a pipe! very cool!

    Cheers

  • @NorthGeorgiaPipe

Aside from north Georgia, right? hahahaha

But seriously, yeah, it was one of the best environments to relax with a pipe.

    Many thanks for watching!

  • @MountainBriar

It's kinda distracting to see most of them tagged like that. But, that's how these reintroduction experiments work. The last one I showed did not have a tag or a collar. And it was the biggest Bull we had seen over the weekend. We were a bit to close to it...about 30ft or so. It was intensely starring us down. That's when instinct kicked in and said, "get the f**k outa there". We complied with haste. :)

    Many thanks for watching!

  • Elk is delicious. :^) Hope you had a happy 4th!

  • @metropolismodern

    Delicious?!? lol

I wouldn't know. But I suppose I'd give it a try if someone offered it to me.

My 4th was great. I hope yours was filled with joy as well.

    Thanks for watching!

  • Great footage. That's still one of my favorite meers. I like the shape and stem.

  • @PipePedaler

It's good little smoker. A bit on the small side, but it gets the job done.

    Thanks for watching!

  • Cool! Those things breed like rabbits! Won't be long and that place will be like Yellowstone Park! Elk running around everywhere, blocking roads....charging at campers....should be a blast! They are pretty majestic, though.....Good vid!

  • @Charredbriar

    lol

Yeah. Well, they've been systematically removing black bears from the region because people don't know how to keep food to themselves, so the Elk have the opportunity to multiply at a quicker rate.

    Many thanks for watching!

  • Beautiful creatures. I'm so glad that they seem to be propagating again. Thanks for sharing.

  • @EastEndPipes

The black bears are happy too. They go after the Elk calves. It would have been sad to witness, but would have made for an excellent video to capture that in action. Oh well.

    Thanks for watching!

  • Cool! Never seen an elk before. Always thought they where similar to our mooses. I was wrong! :) Thanks for sharing Danny!

  • @Flieger671

That was my first time seeing them in person as well. The clips don't really show how big they are. And I didn't want to get that close. :)

    Many thanks for watching!

  • very cool.

  • @Aharndts

Very cool of you to watch, so thanks for watching!

  • Wow, were all 100 at that campground?! :-) Nice to have them up so close. Our biggest game animal is deer (although some people think there might be a moose down south) and they don't just wander into camp.

  • @TheoGeekNZ

Total Elk we saw was around 10. Just goes to show you how vast the Smoky Mountains are.

    Thanks for watching!

  • Thanks for sharing!

  • @TampaPipeSmoker

    Thanks for watching!

  • Look's like an excellent time. Happy 4th to you as well sir.

  • @ThomasAWilliam

Thank you and thanks for watching!

  • Beautiful country Up there, not to long of a drive from where i live, its been wonderful watching the elk population expand!

  • @jerryspipe

This was my first time seeing Elk in person. They are quite magnificent.

    Thanks for watching!

  • Awesome man, looks like a great trip.

  • @tobaccofrank

I had a great time...covered in DEET, but had a great time. :)

    Many thanks for watching!
