i'll take good song writing over a technical player any day. Zeppelins music is guitar composition driven. You can really hear the love Page had in there songs. Not just for the instrument itself. But for the worlds sake. Knowing your good and not compromising creativity is what i get out of Page's playing. (No Quarter) is my all time favorite song. Especially Page's soloing on that tune.

not at all. I think clapton is probably a better overall guitarist, and Jeff Beck is great. I don't know who I would say is better, Beck or Page, but I prefer Page. But yeah, I still think Clapton is a better overall guitarist, but Page was both a brilliant guitarist, and a brilliant producer.

Why would Clapton be better? Page was more dynamic, overall great at many styles, the blues when he wanted to be & even movie soundtracks, he simply rocked, was innovative & very creative on many levels & looked cool, in a way he's almost untouchable & in a league all his own. Everything a superstar should be. When I look at everything he's done I am amazed. Out of all the musical phases, influences & experiences I've had, I still love Page the most of all guitar players.

I agree with you, I love Page, and, frankly, I don't listen to much Clapton, except Cream, but I still think he is a better guitarist. Just by a small margin really, and I prefer Page. I just think skill-wise, Clapton is better. Its a hard comparison though, as they are both such innovators and overall rock gods.

When I was very young & got into Page it completely wigged me out, I was so blown away by his playing, I used to listen to the whole live version of Dazed & Confused before I went to elementary school every morning, what I was hearing in that song I've never heard before or after, I learned a lot about music, guitar & other things from Page. Clapton just never struck me. Even this video shows Page as a guitar god.
