The problem with a Halal food store is not just that the item you order is halal, but the whole store has to be Halal or it is "contaminated". Personally I do not want to eat food that has been prayed over by another god, so would not want to go to a Halal store. Looking at those store fronts I saw nothing to alert customers to this practice, so it is Islamification by stealth.

For years, kebab shops haven't served pork, some chinease/indian shops dont serve beef and no one complains they just take it for what it is. A vendor doesnt have to provide something they dont want to provide.

That said if a customer blasts you, you are not supposed to behave like this guy behaved, if you have such thin skin and such a bad temper then you shouldn't be working in the service industry. I would have fired him quietly the next day.
