@computerfriekie that is some serious bullshit right there, unless you install wine or bootcamp you haven't got a chance because there is no mac version of this game. In either case you would be using Microsoft technologies to do so. Plus, mac minis are so fucking lame.

Finally, the MacBook pro that I own can't even do simple low performance stuff, let alone anything graphically challenging, you have no chance at running this on a shitty mac mini.

Nice gameplay and a pretty good rig you got there too (even though mine is better =P). btw I do agree that macs are overpriced UNIX toys with mostly outdated hardware but they are a good choice for certain people. for example people who like to make music and edit videos and so on with minimal technical knowledge. they're also good for those average Joes who think windows is too complicated. personally I prefer a self-built PC with Linux.

@TheFlameFox totally. And also, I recently upgraded the graphics card to an Nvidia GTS 450 and changed the mobo to an Asus P5P43TD but the basic spec is still the same.

Even though I agree that Macs have the ability to allow people with minimal technical knowledge to edit videos, the result is just annoying, you get tonnes of videos with the exact same titles, transitions and limited scope. the same apples to WMM. I prefer to use Premier & AE.

ok thx but i wanted to know i was gonna get a 5770 but i have a crappy pentium 4 631+ CPU and i only have enough money for either the cpu or the gpu i live in egypt and my specs are

Pentium 4 631+ 3GHz

2.5gb ram ddr2 (not sure how high Mhz probably 667)

a nvidia geforce 7200 gs (dont ask from wich pit i got it)

my mobo only supports Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor E6700 max

so what should i do my limit is either the graphics card or the CPU

@theunkown8 you're in a pretty tricky situation. On the one hand, the raphics card would improve current game performance and stability. but a new CPU would give you more speed and agility.

I would suggest the graphics card because it has 'some' features that help the CPU out with certain calculations.

or there is the computer shop near me that sells stuff pretty cheap, but that's by UK prices. it's called eclipse computers, just search for eclipse computers coventry in google and it should come up, I think they ship internationally

@wehatemacs well i found an answer getting a new mobo and hoplefully a E8400 with a 5750(lowering costs) cause amazingly there is a 500 EGP diffrence between then with that diffrence i could a new pc and mobo

so my specs should be core 2 duo 3ghz 6mb E8400

2.5gb ddr2 ram (if the mobo doesnt support ddr2 then 2gb ddr3)

a 5750 1gb ( not a downgrade from the 5770 since iam gonna play at 1400x900)

and thats pretty much it if i find a mobo that supports crossfireX the ill get another 5750 when i got$

@theunkown8 you may want to save a little more and get the core2quad. its a really good processor. the core2s are older now that the i3 i5 and i7 chips are out.

That's my next purchase anyway. that and a new motherboard and DDR3.

@wehatemacs well i am gonna check how much are the core2quads but 4 cores most games use 1-2 cores unless u count just cause 2 and gta IV witch i have learned to live without

@theunkown8 I think the benefit of 4 cores is that in the future more games may be able to use all 4 cores and possibly even 64 bit. I know that some games now, like Dirt2 can be modified to use 4 cores efficiently.

I just like to futureproof when I get my tech. But it's pointless breaking the bank if you don't think you'll use it.

@theunkown8 sorry, Been really busy the past few days. I have had a look at that CPU and it looks fine, it won't cause too much of a bottleneck. But there is always a bit of a bottleneck with any computer. it would be to do with your FSB which is ok for the CPU you are getting. Just make sure you buy a decent mobo.

@wehatemacs well unfortunatly a quality mobo is way more expensive and really C2D is outdated so i thought id have a look at amd and found a decent amd athlon II X3 triple core processor nad amd boards are cheap as hell so is amd in general a good processor?

@theunkown8 I am personally waiting to be able to afford an i7, but if you are going for an AMD that is also cool. I'm not sure whether the nForce Chipset on that board might cause you issues, I had issues with the nForce Ethernet drivers, I have had to use standard windows drivers, might have just been my mobo (Asus P5ND). I think that gigabyte one will work fine. I mean, you can't ask alot when you are aiming at the £40 mark. You can always update it in the future.

@wehatemacs yeah well iam not gonna get a quality motherboard for an amd its not worth it and i dnt use eithernet i use a wirless usb stick so yeah hopefully i wont have problems + amd is kinda like paying for the exact amount of performance u get and that athlon II x3 is supposedly according to passmark has higher performance than the e7500 and the e8400 so i am gonna ask alil bit more and see.

@theunkown8 You should totally use Ethernet. It's so much better than wireless. I can't even begin to express how horrible WiFi is. You will get faster internet on your pc. I really hate using wifi, I have to on my laptops but I still don't like it as much as wired.

But yeah, Intel is more expensive to get an awesome cpu and AMD are much better nowadays. I think I might just wait for the 8 core Intel before I upgrade.

@wehatemacs well ithink 8 cores MIGHT be total overkill BUT i found that i can spend an extra 10$ and get the quad wich is i think better than the i3 hell iam sick of the pentium 4 they where killer at there time. kinda sad.

@Owminator To get fraps recording at the best speed I set the resolution down to 1680x1050 from 1920x1080 Most settings are on High, I think shadows, distant cars and post process are on medium. The game is played on Serious.
