  • Three most beautiful instruments, ever in history, on one place... Absolutely beautiful!

  • The Oboist has SUCH a gorgeous tone; love this arrangement of the piece - the whole ensemble are sooo good! :)

  • Ornamentation is the quintessence of baroque music: if it's managed thoughtfully (i.e. with a take-and-give-back rubato) it doesn't affect tempo at all (like in this case).

A big bravo to the performers.

  • Walter, awesome maker from Germany

  • @makerofjam Because they use circular breathing.

  • I think the ornamentation is interfering with the effect of the divisions.

  • Very Beautiful!

  • 1 thing to say when i hear this

    Beautyfull!!!!

  • What fantastic music and fantastic playing. Thank you so much!!!

  • Étonnant car très inattendu: une jolie relecure du thème...

  • Beautiful.

  • fantastic sound!

  • It is a video like this that makes me wish I had no musical talent; and no interest in my instruments. WHY? Because I will never play like this, but wish constantly that I would. This is humanity at its best and most pure. Bravo!

  • @Jointlock Why must you be this way? I think this video could inspire you to play better.

then again, we both have different trains of thought.

  • Their phrasing and articulation is absolutely phenomenal!! A virtuosic ensemble!!!

  • Fantastic!

  • id love to be able to play my oboe this well

  • Good remix!I'm DnB,but love music!Thanks.....

  • This is an excellent representation of the bassoon!

  • A childhood favorite, it always makes me smile. This arrangement and performance is beautiful, thanks for sharing.

  • I aspire to have a tone as beautiful as yours, M. Santana. Sophisticated and beautiful playing from all three musicians. Thank you for posting.

  • love the color blend of oboe and bassoon. so smooth

harpsichord adds the texture of crispyness! love it:)

  • Lovely

  • Herzergreifend schön!

  • Fantastisch!!!! !! Unglaublich!!

  • Hi! Guilhaume is playing a Walter Bassoon.

  • whit modern instrument ? puach!

  • @hautbois1958 Do you think that all music should be played on period instruments? If so, they would only have maybe 50 years of repertoire to play on!

  • I doubt this is a Schreiber bassoon!!! The tone is full and so fantastic!!!!! Maestro Santana is part of the generation of bassoonists that will make the bassoon a great solo instrument!!!! Bravo!!!

  • Oha, Permanentatmung vom Feinsten (bei Santana), Respekt.

  • great players all of them. Santana's technical prowess is great to behold and Mayer is as spectaular as ever. does anyone know if one could find this arrangement for sale online?

  • the harmonious blacksmith piece; I used to play it on piano. this sounds fantastic.

  • Wonderful trio!!!

  • Great performance and nice arrangement! Anyone know where one can get the music for this arrangement from?

    Mark Sforzini

  • Wonderful! Bravo!!

  • Albrecht Mayer und Guilhaume Santana sind u glauben, die besten Spieler Oboe un Fagott-Spieler in der heutigen. Gesellschaft. Außergewöhnlichen und phenominal. Makellose Leistung.

  • Thank you. What a nice piece of music !

  • Amazing. One of the best things I have found on youtube for a long time.

  • ma il fagottista è una cosa strepitosa!!!

    Bravi tutti....

  • Mayer really is the best. He sings, even more than most singers!

  • You are so absolutley true. Guilhame Santana is the absolute best Bassonist i've heard and is the most perfect addition to the best Oboeist

  • extraordinar!!!!!!!!!!!!!de vis si fagotistu'

  • both are amaizings!, albrecht meyer play better than holliger!, and the bassoonist as an incredible soud!, he plays beautiful!

  • Yeah it sounds like Meyer actually bothers to spend some time making reeds and to care about intonation and how he sounds unlike Holliger.

  • Superb !!! Thank you !

  • bloody brilliant.

  • Albrecht Mayer is a rock star.

One of my biggest motivations as an oboist is to one day create that sound. Alas! I have no teacher. Also, that bassoonist is pretty hot.

  • anyone happen to know the name of the unusual, harpsichord like, instrument which uses a glass tube to emanate sound ? thanks.

  • glass harmonica

  • actually, it's 'glass armonica." No 'H.'

  • the bassoonist is a real dish =)

  • Any idea where I can buy this arrangement?

  • while they are all amazing, the bassoon player is beyond outstanding...and cute to boot

  • So many adjectives to describe Handel's music. Ethereal, Mellifluous, Nostalgic.

  • astounding, bloated, odourous.

  • Excelente !!! Muy virtuosos los tres . Felicidades.

  • Soon all of you will listen what is really incredible!

  • Wonderful.

  • INSPIRATION. My teacher told me not to rely on it, but in this kind of very fine performance, I totally submit myself to it. You are great. Thank you.

  • I totally agree- for some reason, teachers don't seem to like Mayer as an oboist much.

My oboe teacher recommends other performers but he frowns when I mention Herr Mayer. He's absolutely fantastic. I like his presentation of oboe pieces to the public. Albrecht Mayer isn't embarrassed about playing 'older' pieces.

  • Indeed amazing and a wonderful piece of music and superbly and professionally played. Agree fully with Lutherman57 that the sound quality is 100% - Many thanks for posting !!!

  • this is incredible sound quality for an internet service. I have sent myself all of these videos.

  • Bisognerebbe fare una statua a quest'uomo...Mayer numer 1!!!

  • Bravo!

  • Great musicians

  • Wow, simply awesome...monsters all. Handel is smiling somewhere...Raczynski is a hottie too, in a cool way.

  • Breath taking!

  • ALl I have to say is WOW to both of them..(especially the oboe) at around the 4 min mark.....some of the best playing ive ever heard

  • Your and AMAZING oboist! a insperation for me as a fellow oboe player!

    well done! xx

  • he plays walter. bravooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • This is an amazing performance by the principal oboe of Berlin and Dag Jensen's former student!!!!! :) I love this video

  • Let's make reeds not war! :)

  • Yes lets, making reeds is fun :)

  • @MercifulMe LOL

  • Guilhaume is HOT. Omg.

  • World-Class Performance by World-Class Musicians. Thank You, RPz

  • Excellent playing, I think it was smart to delete the last video, especially after all the cuflufull. Do you know what kind of bassoon the bassoonist is playing on?

  • No, I´m sorry, but thanks for your comment!

  • @Dackelfreundin Hi! Guilhaume is playing a Walter Bassoon.

  • I think it's a cuflufull ???

  • No, this video was posted before, but I asked raypizzi why he called it a band, and he had this big bitchfit, and there was a big argument with his big head, and it was for the best that he deleted the old video and reposted it

  • @MercifulMe

He's on a Schreiber. I have no idea what model or anything but I'm positive it's a Schreiber.

  • @craazyoboe Really? I have never met a professional bassoonist who played on a Schreiber...

  • @MercifulMe are you American? I ask because most Americans don't play on Schreibers. It's a brand that is often associated with the Germans, which Santana is (I think, I only say it because he's playing with other Germans lol). Most Americans play on Foxes.

  • @craazyoboe Actually no, I am a Canadian. I don't associate Schreiber with Germans (again, because I've never known a professional to play on a Schreiber). I personally play on a Yamaha.

  • @MercifulMe The only way I recognized it as a Schreiber is because I played on one in high school when I was doubling. The color of the wood and the German bell were giveaways for it. It's a good brand, but not often seen over here.

  • @craazyoboe I would suspect he's playing on a Heckel or a Walter or some high quality bassoon

  • @craazyoboe From pictures I've seen, it's possibly a Heckel or a Walter. I don't want to insult those who use Schreibers, but they really are not professional instruments.

  • @MercifulMe

Schreibers bassons are perfect for beginners and students. All bassoon students knows that if they want to be a professional musician will need a better bassoon, like other musical instruments.
