Well, I work with troubled children in the social services field/mental health. You can't just let those kids out on the streets, many of them need help. You have to get a degree in a field relating to social serviced to get a job 90% of the time in such a field, or at least to make a decent(?) wage.
I think a well skilled business guy with industry knowledge or project management will always be in demand. The problem is with these liberal arts degrees, in a recession, the people who're needed most are who can design things, build things, grow things, mine things, market things...

I've lived in Canada (I am Canadian) as well as other countries and they seem to have a higher standard/quality of living. Some people in the US still have jobs, and it is those people who don't see what is coming. It is easy to not realise this when you are not the one suffering financially. Our neighbours are moving tomorrow too, but out of state. It's affecting everyone I know where I live. I was also one of those people who didn't "see it coming" until I lost my job.

I think there are not so many cultural ties that would bind so-called "americans" in the condition of low social spending. Lack of budget will result in lower security, raising of ethnic identity, consequent conflicts and so on. On top of that, there are many countries that America had harmed in the past (to earn a bloody buck), that would like now to see USA divided and weak. As we are removing dollar from our reserves, less need for USA.

How Hitler rebuilt Germany's economy was simple. He abandoned the fractional reserve banking system that was crippling post-WW1 Germany and instituted a currency with a fixed unit of value. This is the reason that "war" (actually a boycott; see attached) was "declared" against Germany. The bankers feared that people everywhere would see the immediate advantages of a non- reserve monetary system and force a change in their own countries. Germany, specifically the German economy, had to be wrecked in order to preserve the fractional reserve banking system everywhere else.

I am one of those people who has a job and debt (from a degree) and my company recently shut down (there is no work in my field now). It sucks, that's why I'm moving back home out of the country to find work.

Well, I work with troubled children in the social services field/mental health. You can't just let those kids out on the streets, many of them need help. You have to get a degree in a field relating to social serviced to get a job 90% of the time in such a field, or at least to make a decent(?) wage.

I've lived in Canada (I am Canadian) as well as other countries and they seem to have a higher standard/quality of living. Some people in the US still have jobs, and it is those people who don't see what is coming. It is easy to not realise this when you are not the one suffering financially. Our neighbours are moving tomorrow too, but out of state. It's affecting everyone I know where I live. I was also one of those people who didn't "see it coming" until I lost my job.
