Attention allways use 1% two stroke oil in your fuel preventing fuels system corrosion and carbs clogging using E10 or other modern too dry eco fuels.
What was the final jetting for the l26 i just purchased a Z with the l26 and triple webers but the guy said he bought the carbs off a guy who had them tuned for a stroked l28. So it runs a little rich at the moment.

Update. I miss this setup. It just worked, and worked well. They are easy enough to tune and when they are tuned they are beautiful. I am running an L28ET setup now and building a megasquirt system for the car. Ran out of funds with the change of a job. Car sits. I miss her. =(
Got the triples with the car. Otherwise I see them online going for around $1000 a set to almost $2000 new in some areas. I think 200 whp is easily obtainable with them. But, you will need more than just the carbs for that.
This car was probably close to it at that build. You can put the most efficient carb setup in the world, but it's still bottle necked in the head.
Hey mate, how much power are you making out of that? I've bought an ex 260Z L26 with the factory SU's on it for my HR30 Skyline, which is currently L20E powered and lets just say its not the fastest thing around ha... Really just looking for some advice on how to get decent power out of the 26, set myself a limit of 200hp, i'll be more than happy with that.
@ScotchRB30DET #1 a stock L26 had a max of 140 crank horsepower WITHOUT any accessories, that mean no AC, no Alternator, and no fan. Nothing to drag power away. you are looking at an at least 5-15 HP loss with all accessories. #2 your engine is nearly 40 years old. It's going to have lost another 10-15 horsepower just from age. Factoring that in your engine is probably only making between 100-120 horsepower. To hit 200 you have to make at least an 80 HP gain which is not easy nor cheap.
@ScotchRB30DET (continued) The very 1st thing you need to start off with is a COMPLETE and total rebuild. New seals new rings Valve grind, cylinder honing, the works. And this is only going to get you back what you have already lost. Next you'll need to port and polish your head and add a cam. No sense in adding triple webers if your heads won't flow. you'll also might want to have your head milled down a few MM in order to increase your compression ratio but you'll need to shim your cam towers.
I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners do so Also keeps carbs and tank clean and rustfree! ..

Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs and tank clean and rustfree

Sounds real good, man! Did you do some headwork as well? I have a stock 240-Z and 280-ZX. I sort of wound up with a 280Z with triples from my neighbor. It doesn't run, and Im trying to figure out where to start. The throttle is real stiff, you can hardly move it at all. Looking at your setup gives me some ideas about what might be wrong with this guys setup.
Use 1:100 (1%) two stroke oil in your tank to prevent tank and engine corrosion if you use the modern aggressive fuel that contain 5-10% methanol (not good for the old engine and fuel system materials!)
@Nickelik Wow Youve know alot about BMWS if you think that car sounds like one, Fuck r u retarded....Go listen to a beema and then listen to this car again
I have a built L28ET now, with 60 trim T3/T4, and a FMIC. Building MegaSquirt now with wide band. I'm not cheap, just poor. But thanks for the advice. =)
@naturalthing1 40mm is still pretty big, and there is 3 of them. and those foam air filters hardly slow the air at all, i used to have them on my 45s.
my vote goes to either a weber 40dcoe or if your really going for it go weber 45's. the great thing about these side draft webers is that you can change the cfm to whatever you want really. I run 45 dcoe's with 36mm chokes on my 3.0L which is right about what the weber tuning manual recommends. I'd say choose your inlet (40, 45, 50 or 55) based on how high you want to rev it, then choose your choke to get you bottom end right. it's a bit of a lost art multi carb tuning, not easy but rewarding
Not to be rude but no shit. I appriciate your trying to help but im well aware of this fact. many cars have thier engines displacement as thier name I.E. BMW 325 (3 series 2.5 litre) i need to know because if i put carbs that are two small it will lean out and vi versa. many people that convert to carbs have also done other things, such as compression changes and what not that affect the overall displacement of the engine. That is why I asked what size.
Holy shit you have problems dude. How was i suppose to know all that by just seeing "what displacement is the l26" that's all i read so i answered your question and its not like i knew you knew that in the first place.... chill dude.
sweet, i kinda wish i didnt junk my l26, original engine, nowi have an l28, honestly i wish mine knocked like that, i htink i have my too tight, dosnt feel right, idk, ill break out a feeler gauge one day and go from there, sweet setup, sounds liek its got hell of alot of response
I hear that. My valves were a bit loose on an aftermarket cam. But, it was really running good like that. That's pretty cold. No knocking you stupid fu**. But, thanks for the ignorant comment none the less.
i want triple side drafts on my ford 6... dammit, inline 6's with triple carbs sound sexy

Gotta question.
what displacement is the l26.
I have a bmw 325es with the 2.7L six
and i want to get three duces with velocity stacks. i was curious about what the CFM should be for my displacement and compression
