  • That looks a lot like when Waltrip wrecked at Bristol back in 1990.

  • Yikes thats the hardest one Ive seen

  • HOLY SH--

  • now thats what i call a "whip lash"

  • i hit the wall at devils bowl in mesquite texas a 1/2 mile track doing 110 tacking 9200 and hit it head on

  • @11dollarracing cool story bra

  • Who the hell puts half a retaining wall up on a straightaway? Im surprised IMCA didnt shit when they saw how unsafe that is..

  • HOLY SHIT! haha that waa funnyy

  • did he fall asleep

  • Where is that shit hole race track at ? Might as well have put a concrete barrier in the middle of the straight away.

  • At least the car did its job

  • I hope Humboldt speedway watches this clip. They put the enterance to their track in the same location. The same thing is going to happen if not changed. Hate to see this but thanks for sharing.

  • was the car totaled

  • @kyledearing100 Yes, you dumbass........ can you not tell from the pic?

  • @xXxMaGiKzZxXx no need to be a cunt u fucker

  • lol i saw it and said holy shit then 2 seconds later the person said Holy shit

  • @L3GITxDnOsaRus same lol

  • wow, good thing you were wearing a hans, poor poor track design.. it takes someone to be killed for anyone to take action.

  • Glad you ok, glad you had your safety gear on! Very important!

  • where was this race in the mills?...NY

  • mate, I'm glad u got out of that, been watchin good clips all night only to see this

  • it happens alot actually it looked like an old pit entrance, my step dad did the same thing at Boone speedway but he really got hurt!

  • All that it would take is a guard rail that opens and closes for entrance.

  • his grandsons chassis is going to be bent fron that hit

  • Damn..

  • HOLY SHI~

  • well... it shure got modified...

  • GOD DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • can you say totalled?

  • why was the gate left like that?

  • Is it totaled? or can u still use the rear clip

  • I saw a similar wreck at my local dirt track (Sharon speedway in Hartford Ohio) A dude got loose coming off of turn two and when sideways and creamed the wall on the right side of the car (not driver side) and actually rolled over 1 and 1/4 times. He landed on his side, driver side. He was ok. It was a pretty scary wreck. I think that this is worse because it was head-on. Thank goodness he the driver was ok.

  • The only thing I would say after that crash is "SOMEBODY ANSWER THAT DAMN PHONE"

  • dude you do realize if u hadnt of been wearing the hans you would be dead right now right?

  • I'm going to assume that you don't watch sprint car racing alot and thats ok.

  • Holy Shi-

  • Holy shit, who left that gate open?

  • Wow, that was a brutal head on blow! Glad you came out of it alright. I hope the track owner decided to move the track entrance. Brain Harris drives a UMP late model and he had a similar crash three years ago and broke his neck. Luckily he recovered and is still racing dirt late models.

  • man thats good your ok. did they have water barrels or anything infront of that wall?? at the track i run at they dont and a guy did something simular to this. he hit the wall in the driver side door and started cartwheeling down the track. he too was ok. thank god for all the safty equipment we all have today.

  • There was a simular crash like this at Hagerstown Speedway. The wreckage was much worse

  • was he ok

  • how ever designed that track is an idiot

  • u r really lucky

  • I hope they change that track entrance! No excuse for that sorry designed track entrance. That place should be shut down until it's fixed.

  • Glad your alright! that was a real hard one.. was this a crate class?

  • @2tallbrandon its just a imca modified

  • nothing a lil bondo and some duct tape wont fix lol

  • did u have to by a new car

  • Holy Shit, just about sums it up right there. glad to see you're alright

  • Wow! That's insane! Hope he's ok from that!

  • hit that wall so hard i felt it through my computer

  • damn man im glad that you were able to get out of that alright i hate to see that happen to anyone. i run a late model and i know how that feels

  • was anything salvageable?

  • Heyy.... Uh buddy... There's a wall there

  • damn

  • damm bro thats a hard hit

  • wow, what a terrible track design.

  • dude its like a freight train vrs a imca mod

  • you know it's a good crash when you dent the valve cover

  • that was mah sisters roomate

  • I am aware that the legal street driving age is 16, but racetracks, which is what we are talking about are allowing kids as young as 13 to strap into a full power 410 sprint car and compete. or a full blown late model. or modified. Stupid in my opinion, as a 13 year old is far to young and prone to distraction to be driving a car over 90 mph

  • @smackythefrog23 im 13 and race a sport mod and a cruiser

  • @smackythefrog23 its 14 now since ever im driving a 602 creat (350HP) my dad drives a 358 dirt modified

  • now there is a bonehead track design

  • eye man how bad did that hurt? i race a legend car any advice for a 2 year racer

  • The same thing happened a couple of times at I-55 Raceway. They put a double steel gaurd rail in on a hinge. They have replaced the gaurd rail several times since. It prevented some nasty crashes for sure.

  • @theivory1 Ya, no where near the impact but I think my brother Matt was the last one to hit the opening there. We put up a video of his wreck too. Search for Matt Zimmerly

  • Oh Man, I'm glad you're all right. Wow! OUCH! Modifieds!!!! LOL So much power, so little track!

  • hooked the tow truck on the front of the car and backed it onto the trailer..and yes i survived the crash..

  • @92richardsracing dear lord man im glad ur alright after that hope my wife dosent see this or she'll never let me back n my mod

  • @92richardsracing very glad to see your ok tell them to close the gate

  • @92richardsracing what happened did somthing break on the car or did you just get loose??? and whoever built that chassi did a dang good job. in my car i dont think it would have held together nearly as good as that chassi did.

  • how the fuck did u get in back on the trailer lol

  • damit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • tht was crazy but honestly they should fix tht track hopefully they did after tht crash im surprised it didnt catch on fire tho from the impact against the outer rim

  • what a stupid track design! are they trying to kill people?

  • no shit.. either have wals all the way around or atleast put a fuckin gate there... thats terrible

  • Did he Live?

  • Woooow, hooly shit!

  • How much do you want for that engine....a penny???

  • what motor? lol

  • is this guy still alive after that crash?????

  • holy crap dude they need a new entrance to that track if it gets like 3 wide and someone slips up it could be worse espieacally for the higher power cars like the sprints and lates at a higher speed

  • shortened the car up a bit

  • that was a bad wreck. but it was funny when that lady said holy in slow motion

  • nah more than a new clip that car is junk. need whole new car

  • nah just needs a new front clip bahahaha

  • that is a bad crash

  • Im glad your ok wisc.

  • i have his atograph

  • ouch thats a real hard hit both on your car, body and wallet

  • its great to hear your o.k. what track was that?

  • thats bull shit who ever designed that track is a fuckin idiot ..

  • @72Kylemorris oh no its like that on a lot of courses, PIR used to be like that untill someone died...

  • I'm sure he had a neck restraint and a full containment seat, that saved his life. 15 years ago, he would have been dead for sure.

  • holy shit man, glad you're alright. My friend races IMCA 360 mods down here in Iowa and 2 weeks ago he got bumped and hit a bad groove. Ran into the wall at about 96 mph and rolled the car 3 times

  • looks like you drove straight into the wall lol!! what really happened?

  • a hole open up between the two cars then when i was half way through the hole closed and i stayed on the gas and my right rear caught the highside cars front and turned me in the track enterance

  • @92richardsracing Captain Hindsight would say something along the lines of "The opening of the track shouldnt have been in that location...

  • @92richardsracing im 16 man i race super late models and the same thing happened to me and totaled the car looked just like yours but a little worst because i have little more hp i stayed on the gas out of turn and a guy i tried to hit the hole like you and my right rear caught his front left tire wham right into the entrance i was sore for a while.

  • That'll buff out :P

  • Hoooooooooooo....

  • ive been around racing for 28 years my 2nd cousin is johnny the jet saathoff so that should tell ya that ive scene alot of racing, never have i scene and heard an impact like this b4. Glad to see that your alright

  • that car is still driveable...

  • i dnt think so... lol

  • I really, really have a hard time understanding why there are still smack-tarded track designs like this still allowed ANYWHERE. Mike Harmon, Bristol. Michael Waltrip, Bristol. Jeff Gordon, Las Vegas. Carlos Pardos, Mexico. And I personally saw a driver hit an inside pit opening on the front stretch of Laneir Speedway in Brassleton, GA. They had it closed off the following week. Have we not learned yet that concrete openings are not only a BAD idea, but a deadly one?

  • Well, out of ALL Of those drivers, Carlos Pardo is the ONLY ONE THAT IS DEAD As a result of the SHITTY TRACK DESIGN!

  • i was the driver of the car i was not injured.. the chasis absorbed the impact and the hans device did it's job i now swear by it..

  • I'm glad you came out OK. But , WOW ! what a hit.

  • Dude......all I can say is that I hope you buy a fucking lotto ticket every time you get the chance cuz that impact is at most a 0.001% survival rate. Friggin amazing dude, good for you, and good luck man!

  • @92richardsracing realy is a testimate to the design of modern speedway cars

  • how did ur engine fair after the hit?

  • @92richardsracing it must have been weird to find your own crash on youtube lol. glad youre ok.

  • @92richardsracing That almost is the same thing that happened to Jack Bland in his late model at Hagerstown speedway in Maryland.

  • holy shit is right!?!? was the driver ok?

  • What I can't figure out is why any speedway who's pit area is NOT off the backstretch and doesn't have seating on the backstretch would have a backstetch wall to begin with! Especially one with a gap in it! Could nobody see something like this happening? I'd much rather go off into a field or even some trees than have something like this happen! It didn't even appear as though there was much there to at least cushion the impact!

  • Was he injured?

  • if tracks have insurance for spectators, why is it that most tickets contain a waiver of responsibility on them waiving and liability on part of the track. Simply put, tahts gross negligence on the part of the track to allow those conditions to exist.

  • its not the crash that hurts it's the sudden stop

  • I wonder who in the world came up w/ leaving walls open, or leaving the wall doors open while cars were running on the track. Pure stupidity

  • nobody thought that might happen?

  • OOOOOOH SHIT!

  • Unreal........

  • racetracks around the nation are largely (unless nascar level) unregulated. There is NO minimum level, there is no inspection generally required for containment, design and structural integrity. The average age of racetracks nation wide is anywhere from 10-50 years. Some, that ive personally seen have patchwork fences from where other cars have already gone through before.

or situations such as was seen above, Lets move to implore track owners to upgrade safety equipment

  • These drivers know the risk of racing and they know their tracks they race at. Weekend racers race at their own risk. Not even Nascar level tracks are 100% safe. Tracks have insurence but only for the fans they do not protect the drivers. All tracks must have a opening to let the cars in and any proturding wall will be a danger to the drivers at high speeds. Any racing be it cars, bikes, boats, gocarts whatever you can and will get hurt but that is the risk you take when you race.

  • 100% tracks fault -- criminal pure insanity.. Dirvers should have never raced on that track ..

  • I totally agree, what a horrible spot to have then end of a wall. he clearly drove into the end of a wall, that wall should have gone all the way around or at least to the other end of the back stretch. I really hope this guy didn't get hurt or killed.

  • that was a hard hit glad he was ok

  • WOW!

  • Atleast they didn't have to worry about getting claimed...

  • I got bruises from the belts just sitting here watching that!

  • glad to see the inflield was filled with cars...another track going out of business soon. glad to see the driver was ok though, seen one of those right in front of my face, the sway bar came off of a late model and dug in the ground and shot his rear in the sky and he hit the pit enterance wall. and those water jugs dont do much except for make a mud pit.

  • no track should have a a opening like that! but it happenes. That car is destroyed. This past year we had a late model slam into on on the back streach and the top of his seat was bent forwards and the steering wheel was bent. teh car was totaled.

  • Whoa. No racetrack should have a blunt edge like that!!!

  • Totally. Common sense would come into play, but a lot of people don'd have it.

  • ill second that here in sc at laurens speedway in the past 5-6 years weve had 3 drivers hit openings like that one was in a super late model the other in a limited and one was in a dwarf car last year if i can find the video for the dwarf car one ill send it to you

  • T-O-A-S-T

Sucks, hate to see stuff like that

  • yeah but todays safety equipment is far more advanced then 15-20 years ago.. sorry to hear about the loss

  • You can die hitting the wall's edge like that! Lois Carlotta died at San Jose Faigrounds about 15-20 years ago. He slid sideways into a K-rail's edge.
