  • haha such a fitting commercial...

  • "there's only one problem...it sucks"

  • "No! Get away from me, Virtual Boy! I refuse to have my eyes nauseated!!!"

I love Nintendo, but even the best companies in the world can make the biggest mistakes in human history.

  • Wario land and Teleboxer were the only good games on the Virtual Boy , everything else was crap.

  • Those who hate the Virtual Boy never owned one themselves. And if they did, there's something wrong with them.

The Virtual Boy represented a company that took a risk and tried to do something unbelievably different from everyone else. It was high-definition. It was unique. The games were virtually (haha) all great. Waterworld was quite a dud.

The only screw-up was that they didn't come out with more games before pulling the plug. If nothing else, Bound High deserved to be released.

  • It's good to see that I'm not the only one who likes the system. And who recognizes that it wasn't a worthless, rushed product, but rather a unique and bold invention that unfortunately never really panned out. I think that had the VB stayed in the market long enough to get some more and better games, it would have had alot more success and there would be alot less people jumping on the bandwagon of hating it without reason.

  • yeah also people just say the vb sucks because AVGN said so...just shows how smart people are when they cant even think for themself

dont forget to see my full vb review :)

  • What do you mean by high definition? since it was 32-bit...i just aint old enough to have played one and wander what you mean

  • The visuals inside the Virtual Boy's screens were very high-definition. Comparable to the the best resolution on a head-mounted-display today like the i-glasses SVGA or something. Not fuzzy looking or anything. Very sharp. I don't know what else I could say.

  • Ok, i see

  • i still want one though, despite the epic fail it caused nintendo

  • You SHOULD still want one. Getting the whole collection is very doable, and not too expensive. At least getting the whole US collection. Even the rarest games I was able to get on ebay for $40 each, respectively.

  • Yeah there's a Problem, IT SUCKED ASS

  • ya know. i always enjoyed the virtual boy. when i was a kid i played teleroboxer, vb wario land and mario tennis. nowadays i play baseball and panic bomber and still i find it fun. the only reason it died is because it wasnt in color. besides that, if people knew, color would cause seizures which results in big time lawsuits against nintendo. nintendo used a smart business tactic, but marketing could have been better

  • "it sucked so much,it died in less than a year"-AVGN

  • so?, make ur own opinion idiot

  • Oh god, it's alive.

  • you see green after playing this $Hi7.

    Just awesome

  • That is one Random Ad. One that can only be beat by the giant ball of Marmite ad.

  • This is the only big Nintendo fuck up ever, something no other third party company can say in the industry.

  • Omg i swear i remember this commercial. i was looking for it lol.

  • why didnt they use L.C.Ds insted of L.E.Ds but it is impressive except the fact that the darn thing looks scary

  • Why red? Why not black and white?

  • ha i remember this commercial. i just got a snes for christmas and i was mad because i didn't get that instead.....thank goodness i didn't.

  • Of-course if you did get it and everyone else who wanted one got one then it would not have been such a failure and we would all be using VB2's and VB3's with full color, but alas no one got one and it failed and left this doorway closed.

  • So that's why my eyes hurt whenever I played it.

  • y is it only in red? 0.0"

  • IT NEEDS TO HURT YOUR EYES, YOUR HEAD, AND GIVE YOU ABSOLUTLY RUNNY DIAREA!!!!!!!! Thats what it should say.

  • I got one with box and two games and it is a fun system! :D

  • i got one with all the American games

  • agggghhhh!!!! my eyes!!!! I NEVER want one of thes eyestrianing, headaech monsters my older bro. has one at his moms house though

  • The virtual boy succeded in getting a couple customers, but I think it failed as a system... because it's all in red, it could be hard on the eyes, and the gameplay doesn't look that great.

  • wtf is this is this a new console how much is it

  • Un, no. It's a commercial for Nintendo's only failed console, Virtual Boy. It was released in 1994, but never caught on.

    I still have mine though.

  • hahaha i just got mine it does give you headaches but its pretty fun :D

thanks to this ad my mom wouldnt buy it for me when it came out!

  • When it first came out I tried it at the Toys "R" Us in Totowa, and it was an ok system. Not good for the eyes!!!

  • lol, no wonder it flopped.

  • Mine is still boxed !

  • wow that is actually quite a scary ad!

aww i want one! it'll probably give me a headache every 5 minutes but i still want one!

  • Thanks :D I have all the nintendo Systems,

    ~Happy trails!

  • Ah Memories, Im going to take out my virtual boy and play it now.

  • you have a virtual boy nice

  • Good luck with the headaches. Lol.

  • Lol Thanks. Actually I havn't gotten headaches yet from it, but thanks either way :D!
