  • I like the way this level starts. First you are in a colorful, snowy place with cheerful music that looks like Santa's factory... And then you fall in a hole that is on the floor and you enter the factory and that's when this music begins to play and all the atmosphere changes and become darker and more sad... It's almost tragic, it looks like the inside is not always what we see from the outside and there's always a little evil in all the things...

  • This is the best Kirby song ever!!!! Anybody remember the second stage from rock star music inside the diamond random thingy??? I luv that song XD

  • Real Men wear pink.

  • @JustErik92 In that case real men are bronies!

    /)

  • @y2k890 (\

  • I just had to look at shiver star long enough to realize it was Earth. Damnit. Heart skipped a beat when it clicked.

  • 4 people kept dying getting crushed by the opening/closing ceilings.

    God I hated that part...

  • Lol my name is Jacqueline my sisters and I would come home and watch Youtube a lot I kind of adore it I mean we are just ordinary girls.

  • thumbs up if TF2 dangerous bacon brought you here

  • 3 favorite locations in gaming:

Factories:For the music of different machines doing their jobs in sync.

Mansions:For the utterly lost and confused feel of it.

Trains:For an adventure in a mobile setting, which, somehow seems to increase the dramatic feel of the situation.

  • Ah, i love the sound of pistons clashing together and pipes tooting in rhythm to the music.

  • It's real sad to know that Shiver Star is Earth after the human race has ended.

  • best kirby song ever and :40 is the best part

  • This song is very emotive. Makes me think of life moving on a conveyor belt.

  • This is one of my favorite soundtracks in videogame history, it's just amazing.

  • 100,100 views O_o

  • i need to download this song. PLEASE! I NEED A DOWNLOAD LINK!

  • I AM DANGEROUS BACON!!!

  • This level was so scary to me. Not just because of the scary machines that looked like they had faces and sharp teeth, It was also those poor creatures that were stuck in the test tubes in the background that made it disturbing. The fact that the music sounds kind of sad helped create the perfect creepy atmosphere.

  • It has a sad feeling, mixed with a sense of hope and then ends with what could sound like dread(?).

Ah, Nintendo. Making music filled with so much emotion for a game for all ages to play.

  • it sucks that not alot of kids will ever understand how game like these were better in ways than what we have today...

  • @a7xfanboylolololol

You mean the same way that we will never understand how the games our parents played were better in every way?

Nah, I'm just messing with you That argument could be used against us, but if you look at games in the previous generations up UNTIL this one, Platformers ruled the market, Nintendo Hard was a real thing, and games were designed for gamers. Now Shooters rule the market, every game I've played in the last 5 years was easy (Except DKCR), and gamers are a demographic

  • @church7089 You're right, DKCR was surprisingly harder than I was expecting. I was pleased. :)

  • im about to remix this

  • @mibbzx1493 Remember to keep the bagpipes (or what sounds like bagpipes at around 0:40)! They're the most chilling part of the song, no pun intended!

  • Comment removed

  • OMG I just realized this song has a fricking breakdown

  • I AM DANGEROUS BACON

  • "I AM DANGEROUS BACON!"

  • this song goes extra hard

  • kirby wii = kirby n64 2 ?

  • @samvideogamemanpro nope, not even close.

  • @flamingdrizzt

Yes Close Probably Correct The First Is Soo Similar!

  • @KirbyDudez64

    First Scene Is Soo Similar!

  • @samvideogamemanpro Kirby 64 = Kirby's Dreamland 3 2 = Kirby's Dreamland 4 - Kirby Wii = Kirby's Dreamland 5? There, thats some video game equasions for ya.

  • this is probably the scariest music in any video game ever

  • 0:27 love it

  • haha! I so remember this part of the game, I just kept dying, when you had to move to a space before the wall crushed you

  • What a coinkydink, I was looking for this very song and I just typed in "Kirby crystal shards music" and this was the first result.

  • @DancingSword same

  • 4 people are retarded

  • this needs a dubstep remix ;o

  • @therider931 Nothing deserves being turned into shit. Keep your dubshit elsewhere.

  • @tsurupettan66 wait so how is dubstep bad?

  • @therider931 Because it takes perfectly good songs, removes all the good parts, and inserts a repetitive shitty bass line which drives normal people insane.

  • @tsurupettan66 So you hate weird people, eh? That's kind of sad. Theres no reason to get pissy though, don't be a dick to us cuz you've got a stick up your ass

  • There's something so desolate yet urgent about this music... and then when those crashing piano notes come, it's as if the whole factory has just ground to a halt.

  • I AM DANGEROUS BACON

  • Best music in the game....kidding, 02 is.

  • Thumbs if Dangerous Bacon brought you here.

  • this level was so hard when I was little. It was kinda scary. Especially the one-hit KO parts and that crushing piano sound.

  • @CirnoTheStrongest Do you have a wii? The wii shop channel has this game.

  • Such sad music. I love it.

  • i love it how i wanted to find this song not knowing it's name, and by typing kirby 64 music, it's the first choice. (tears of joy and nostalgia)

  • its about time kirby make a comeback,a big one i mean

  • Someone needs to find someway to ewmix this with Frantic Factory from Donkey Kong 64, stat.

Two eerie factories from the N64 era with awesome music. It's begging for it.

  • I AM DANGEROUS BACON!

  • DANGEROUS BACON.

  • Great song. I wish it didn't cut off though.

  • You can't even compare games from the N64 and "new generation's games". All the best were on the N64 and nothing well ever beat it.

  • @johnlelinx is it because of the game play or the nostalgia though ;)

  • @johnlelinx SNES was better.

  • @johnlelinx Yea, other than a small amount of gamecube games, that's completely true.

  • I love music themes that scream these words:

"You home is in ruins, you want to turn back, but there's nothing left. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR DESTROYING YOUR HOME!"

or "You must move on, SHE DOESN'T LOVE YOU/What if she does come around/SHE NEVER WILL, KEEP WALKING AHEAD/*Cries to self, & keep walking*"

This is always a tough. yet epic turning point in life, & It's wanting to go back to how things were, but will never be. Thats how I feel when I hear this song. Few songs give me those feelings

  • I always thought of this as an epic theme for Kirby

  • this game was really good, best song in the game.

  • 0:53 is when it turns into Within the Giant.

  • This song inspired me so much!

  • Hah, this was my favorite level back when I was little, I always used to refer to it as "The robot place." because of the all the robot machine things!

  • kirby 64 = one of the best n64 games EVEH

  • @metakight4 heh, weren't they all?

  • Hal. Labs. are mad scientists, they make cute badass better than anyone.

  • fav song of the game

  • This was one of the darker tracks in the game.

  • One of my favorite tracks form this game :)

  • god i love this music!!!!!!

  • wow absolutely awesome song.

  • i used to hate that stage -_-

  • You know, I think Shiver Star is just a cameo of Nuclear Winter Earth. But then the robots came in and then.....Shiver Star is born. :D

  • The mutation room was scary. The one with the "animals" in the test tubes... I couldn't tell if that was a legless hippo or a pig/ hippo/ alien. O_o

  • @TheAmazingRowen Don't forget the black cat! XD

  • @TheAmazingRowen what about the the legless ghost cat that would go... "^_^"

  • Seriously, just listen to this. Who else hears how well developed this song is? The imposing verse, the chilling climax, the messy machinery in the background, and the off-key transition back to the start (1:16-1:35). This is MUSIC that set a TONE for the stage. As a kid I wanted to just beat the course quickly cause EVERYTHING about it kept me on the edge of my seat.

Ten years later, I'm listening to it, and I'm amazed. Instead of my butt on the edge of the seat, my jaw's on the floor!

  • @bea89niles Wow, that was a passionate way to describe it.

And they tell us video games aren't art!

  • not to mention all the machines that killed you in 1 hit

  • I just played this game for the first time since my Wii crashed. The good news is I had some backup data on it. The bad news? It only saved up to a certain point. What point was that? The middle of Shiver Star. Guess which level I'm going to have to play again. DX

  • @Nap1300 haha oh man, sucks for you, I'd be pissed. XD

  • @Nap1300 aw dat sucks whenever i completed a lot of the game and then it deletes i say fuck the game, but den 1 month later i go back XD

  • Wow, very amazing music! And from Kirby.

  • @BrainDS ...

  • @ZillaVenom Oh, c'mon...

  • thumbs up if u think this game needs a sequel

  • @flippymaster02 Epic Yarn.

  • @flippymaster02 YES :D I SO AFREE

  • @flippymaster02

    That wouldve been nice right.

  • @flippymaster02 nah I wouldn't say so much as a sequal ^^ more like remade. Like Final fantasy maybe add on to it a little more

  • @flippymaster02 Yes! It DOES need one!

...And guess what? It'll be here, THIS FALL!!!

  • @flippymaster02 it is getting a sequel. aka Kirby Wii

  • Hey, wanna know something scary? If you look at Shiver Star closely, you'll see that it's actually Earth, now frozen over and ruled by machines.

    Ominous indeed.

  • I have been listening to music from Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards and I heard part of the Zero Two theme in all of them. D:

  • @12DragonsRule ಠ_ಠ...

  • Comment removed

  • To the 4 people that have disliked this and to anybody else who does, you should die. I don't care if you miss clicked. Game over.

  • santas workshop

  • This has always been my favorite game and music, even thow the music here scared me when I was 5.

  • In Soviet Russia, you crush the walls!

  • i came up with the dopest beat using this

  • WHO ELSE lost about 5 lives time trying to get through the part in the stage with the compresser near the end? xD

p.s. yay! go light saber for the boss cage shard!

  • @XxHarvestPrincessxX Back then when I was 7, yes, I did die to those alot. But now, they're easy. I love this music though!

  • @Roboyoshi15 lol i know xD it was this stage and one from neo star at the end (forgot--) that always killed me when i was small haha

  • Thumbs up if you came here because of Dangerous Bacon.

  • No new game music can beat the epic simplicity of the kirby 64 music. All of the songs Give off their own emotions and if you look deep enough actually tell a story.

  • In Soviet Russia, toys play with you!

  • The Like Dislike system is pretty useless...especially with music. If you don't like it, don't listen to it...doesn't mean its bad per say... It wouldn't make sense if I went to every rap song on here and disliked it because I don't like rap....

Youtube should remove like/dislike from music-based videos.

  • @RawrUTN

eh its just stupid in general. stars were fine, they didn't need to go and copy facebook...

  • @RawrUTN The like/dislike system is useless in general. Originally a 5* rating completely made sense because YouTube, if you recall, really was supposed to be like our own personalized TV channels. I remember really thinking my ratings through, giving like a 4* or a 2*, rarely 5*, etc. Eventually it became much more popular and was a 1* 5* deal, so the like/dislike system appeared to make sense. But others can troll. If it's just a like system, you can see how popular it is, which is what matter

  • @RawrUTN Wow, I like rap a lot and I still enjoy this song to the fullest. I have a pretty open mind about music although the only genres I can't stand are Country, Shitty Pop, and shitty rap. There is good rap and then there is bad rap. If you honestly haven't heard good rap which you probably haven't don't judge an entire genre.

  • @BooSpriter

You fail to get the point. D: Sorry.

  • @RawrUTN hahaha, the amount of effort that would go into that would dwarf all other youtube features

  • @RawrUTN OMFG! Thank you so much! I been fuckin waitin for someone to quote that.

  • @RawrUTN Oh, come on...

  • @RawrUTN but the point is that Youtube is not for music (even if i am here listening music in youtube) its for videos, its completely different if people gives it this use :l

  • @RawrUTN Just bring back the 5 star system, right?

  • @RawrUTN I think they should remove it all together

  • @RawrUTN but then "baby" would never reach 1 million dislikes :(

  • @RawrUTN It'd be nice, but its far too much effort for them to remove that feature specifically from every music-related video.

It'd be better just to ignore it.

  • @RawrUTN Or you could just ignore them?

  • @RawrUTN With that logic, you are saying that they should remove the like/dislike from videos in general. If you don't like it, don't watch it. Youtube AND the creator wants to have feedback to see if his content is good, and disliking it is helping the creator him/herself realize that he/she should work on things with more effort, or remove the video in its entirety.

Plus, you can just disable the rating system yourself in the video's options if you're the creator.

  • @Robfire10 But the five-star system is better. What if you think the movie was ok. You didn't hate, but you didn't love it? You could give it 3 stars. I think that would provide more insight for creators rather than people "liking" or "disliking" a video.

  • @kdhvdsfkj I agree completely, I despise the Like/Dislike system, but using my opinion in the rant would be byist.

  • @RawrUTN You can disable ratings. I see what you're getting at, though. It is stupid to go to a video on YouTube that has music you don't like. Then again, Rebecca Black.

I apologize for mentioning her in this video.

  • @BollyBibby she's a musical genius compared to Soulja boy

  • @RawrUTN There will always be people who abuse a system; you can't prevent it.

  • @RawrUTN I disagree. I think it's more like, if you find a song you haven't heard before and listen to it, but you don't like it, you hit the dislike button so songs like it don't appear in your recommendations. I could be totally wrong here, but as far as I know, that's the only way you can keep stuff like that out of your recommendations...

(On-topic, though, this song wins because Kirby.)

  • @RawrUTN No because what if it's something custom?!

  • @RawrUTN "If you don't like it don't listen to it" How would they know if they don't like it if they don't listen to it? O_o

  • A robot factory on post-apocalyptic Earth.

    Check out Shiver Star's geography.

  • Normally I despise the trend of taking the number of dislikes, and saying something negative about those people, but for this, 4 people are not worthy of the organs they possess.

  • This place is screwed up. The creatures in the test tubes......The DAMN TEST TUBES

  • @bcoz7264 Cloud

  • @bcoz7264 hahah yeah I rememba that! the music fits it perfectly tho especially when the piano keys come down when the mechanical sounds stop. That DUM makes you feel like you just saw something horrifying haha

  • @bcoz7264 When I was youngerand played the game I always asked myself of why there were those creatures in the test tubes!!! It was really creepy...

  • @bcoz7264 and that freaking room with the crushing ceiling

  • somebody make a dubstep remix. please.

  • Everything about that level is meant to get u killed in one hit.

  • There's a kirby 64!?

  • @MrILOVEBEINGPURPLE yes, it's about 10 year old...

  • The part where the machines try to hammer you on the conveyer belt creeped the fuck right out of me. Especially because the smile of insanity just set on them.

  • @polarseizure omg i never did that level by myself. It was like some scary movie.

  • you guys are so weird........

you cant beat kirby 64......you just cant

  • In Soviet Russia, factory industrializes you! :D

  • Despite being by nature a soft puffball, if Kirby is compressed even slightly in this stage he dies. Makes perfect sense!

  • The guy who's complaining about it being alikened to sex is named *ARSE* *ROPES* Sounds like one of those newfangled doggystyle thingamajiggers to an old-timer like me (being 17 and all). Ironic.

  • This song makes it sound like its a Final Level :o

  • This level shows you that Santa has a not-so-jolly side

  • @DrKnockOut1115 Of course. How else does he produce all those toys for millions, if not billions of children? Little elves working for santa of their free will? Posh.

  • @DrKnockOut1115 Feeling down in the dumps, Santa?

  • gosh, it's WAAAAAAAAAYY slower than the remix i'm used to

  • Ah... Nostalgia. I hated this level. I remember always dreading it, thinking that I was going to be squished. It happened quite a few times, and now it's like a lable on the stage to me. Still loved the game, love it even now, and always will.

  • I feel like this music would play while walking through Auschwitz.

  • an epic tune

  • This song makes me twitch..

I hated this song as a kid because I associated it with the level..

But listening to it now, its pretty good..

    o_e

  • this game is amazing..... i have it :)

  • This song and this level haunt my nightmares.

  • Ah, the nostalgia. I remember playing this when I was still a small child. Back then I was silly when I played games and did things for silly reasons.

I remember when I first heard this song, I got really tense and scared. I dunno why, either. Even to the point to when I'd screw up and get smashed, I'd leave the room in fear. In time, I began to hate the song.

Now, I'm learning that it's a really kickass song and I can't get it off my iPod. This game's one of the best.

  • Play this song backwards, at twice normal speed.

  • Kirby 64 contained some of the greatest music ever composed

  • Thanks for the upload. This is one of my favorite songs from this Kirby game.
