  • I got stung by one when I was about 12yo, worst encounter I have ever had with a venomous insect. Not only was it painful, I had swelling from my finger where I was stung all the way up to my elbow. My fingers and hands were so bad they were splitting open and fluid was oozing out. It was horrible. My brown recluse spider bite would come in a close second.

  • I honestly don't see how people get stung by these scorps. They're such a laid-back species and I've never even come close to getting stung out of the dozen or so times I've handled them and out of all of the tank maintenance. They've never showed any aggression except when feeding.

  • Well, I wasn't handling it. I was picking up the yard and grabbed a board that was laying on the ground. When I did I mistakenly grabbed the scorpion that was on the underside of the board. It stung my ring finger in defense. Most stings I have seen in the past is by people unwittingly brushing against, grabbing or stepping on them.

  • Is a sting from an adult B. jacksoni deadly to a healthy person?

  • Nope... Unless you have an allergic reaction to the venom.

  • Ok brandon thx.

I have done some reading and get different answers, some says that its deadly and some say thats just a little worse than a beesting, so its a bit confusing.

I have a H. scaber but i want a sp that i can keep in a drier habitat, i really want a Hadogenes spp but they are hard to get.

  • how long would say a 2nd instar would take to get full grown?

    a year?

im ordering one from Krazy 8s inverts

  • If kept around 80F and fed weekly, they'll mature in under a year.

  • how venemous is this type of scorpion

  • From a scale from 1 to 5, 5 being the worst, it's rated as a 3.

  • Arent these a 4.5 on the ld50? Generally harmless. Whereas the deathstalker is .25, huge difference. And all the hot scorps are very close in potency to the deathstalker.
