- Ah, the days when children's TV actually showed the credits of shows in full, instead of actively promoting a gnat's attention span. We shall not see their like again. Faintly weird in retrospect seeing JMS' name nestled in the credits.
- BUT MUMMY MUMMY THERE IS A. BUNNY. Never give the punchline to a child actor.
- A Kwik Save Mary Steenburgen in the Kwik Save advert.
- Johnny Ball was recently demoted to demigod for his water-carrying activities for the global warming flat-earther lobby.
at the end of the Real Ghost busters closing credits they didn't show the Columbia Pictures Television 1982-92 logo, instead they slide into the CITV continuity.
Does anyone out there reading this have the making of Ghostbusters 2 special shown on CITV around December 1989 to promote the film. I didn't tape it at the time ( I was 6 but still I liked taping stuff so I should have done really) . It had all the cast talking about both films and was really interesting. Its not on either films DVD anywhere in the world sadly either.
I always wondered why the song repeated like that.
On the tapes released in the UK at the time they had the proper credits on with the DiC logo and Columbia TV logo with the Coca Cola company bit at the bottom.
I watched the Real Ghostbusters religiously everyday it appeared on CITV, I taped some of the episodes but now I no longer have the tapes to upload the episodes. Except the ones I taped off Fox Kids/Jetix
Yeah. i can see they removed the screen saying that the cartoon was released on RCA Columbia videotapes. and they held the last screen to cover up the DiC logo (And completly removed the Columbia TV logo). Interesting why they did that.
Have you got any Jellyneck? I loved it and even got my Dad to take our video recorder on holiday so I could record the last one. Unfortunatly it was set up wrong and didn't record!!! I cried for two days.
The announcers probably can't announce when the program is next on these days because they're always messing about with TV schedules. In the comensation culture world we live in these days, people would probably put a claim in if it wasn't shown when they said it would be!! LOL!!
The blonde woman in the "Kwik Save" advert is the actress & presenter, Maria McErlane, who is best known for being the voice-over/narrator on the Channel 4 series, "Eurotrash". She also co-presented the ITV late-night quiz show, "Carnal Knowledge", with the then unknown, Graham Norton in 1996.
Have you got the full episode of "Codzmorf"? If so, was it any good? I don't remember much about the 1989 series of "Dramarama", except for an episode called "Mitchin", which was made by then local region TSW & was filmed quite near to where I live in Cornwall!
I have about 10 minutes or so of it, until it hits the end of the tape. I was a bit young for 'Dramarama' when it was on. If you want I can upload as much of the episode as I have got sometime.
Shame your tape ended & you don't have the full episode of it, but if you could upload the 10 minutes or so that you have, then that would be great! I want to see what the 'big blue blob' looks like!
"C.A.B." was in fact made by Thames, but I suspect all Children's ITV trailers were made by Central regardless of which company had produced the programme concerned.
I was rather a big fan of "C.A.B." at the time, and even got a reply to my letter to Thames asking about the series which congratulated me, with fine exaggeration, on "watching all our programmes".
I think that's the case too. Central was repsonsible for the bulk of Children's ITV. The other regions 'sent in' their programmes and Central 'packeaged them', to put it in simple terms.
@JayFirestorm - WOW! Youtube is GREAT for this. Before you'd have to either rely on reading old Mags, Listen to Music form that time, or watch Reruns or Rent/Buy Vids made from that Time (or find an old Vid recorded from the TV then that you didn't touch in all those Years, I have 1 or 2 thankfully). Its easy to forget the Adds and just think of the Programmes but the Adds bring back as many Memories, defintely. One would wonder what some of those Actors and Kids are doing now. Thanks a million.
Anybody else notice J Michael Strazynski's name here in the credits, creator of Babylon 5 and Spiderman Writer

There is still one page of soundtrack advertising at 0:25.
I guess it would be very difficult, to edit that out... Particularly with Children watching.
shadowolf192 2 years ago
it wasn't that stringent then. they still have soundtrack advertising on films they show on television.

CITV has always sucked. BBC was miles better in the eighties. I hate the way everything has to be all trendy

With the exception of a few shows, Chrildrens ITV really did suck arse.

Sometimes the network wouldn't always show the closing credits, CITV were notorious for editing programmes for time on their network

i think i remember they used to do that when they aired Pokémon years ago.

I'm sure that the woman in the Nesquik advert was Karen Drury who played the ill fated Susannah Farnham/Morrisey in Brookside!

You are correct, it is Karen Drury in the "Nesquik" advert. Also, the voice-over in the "Orangina" ad was done by Hugh Laurie.
