tell me what have i understood badly from history? That Horthy was a modest fascist who resisted nazi's imperialism, in the same time he had established perfect trade relations with Nazis,he supported militarily in their invasion in Ussr and he was persuiting ruthlessly communists and jews. I think also that the revolt was aiming to reveal the tortures which were taken place inside the communist's party offices. Finding nothing of course they masacred the party's members inside.

Democratic and free-market socialism is far better than anything else we as humans have ever managed to come up with yet. Where are the living standards best in the world? Sweden, Norway, France, Germany, etc... why? Because they fused socialism with democracy and the free-market. Countries like the US are only good to live in if you're filthy rich, otherwise the lack of socialism makes the average person have a rather difficult and stressful life even there.

I agree. Capitalism is far better system but only for the capitalists and their allies. The other people are working as much as hard and long and their exploiters are enjoying enormous profits. Actually, while Horthy had no love for the Jews, and probably didn't wish the best for them, he did not "ruthlessly persecute" them. Horthy did ever he could for years to prevent the Nazis from deporting the Jews from Hungary - not because he was an altruistic saint, but because the Jews represented a major part of the Hungarian economy, and their death would bring about a serious blow to the already weakened Hungarian economy.

Also, while its true he supported the Nazis in their invasion of the USSR, there are several reasons for this.

Hungary wanted nothing to do with Nazi Germany, but was forced to cooperating with it, since the West couldn't care less about Hungary's fate, and the only other power was the USSR - which, representing Communism - was seen as a greater evil than Nazism. Not to mention, Hitler rewarded Hungary with some of her lost lands with the request that Hungary assist in invading the USSR.
