@trashologram China also uses slave labor for everything from raw materials to the finished product so multiply what their spending by at least 20. There are plenty of programs we can cut out of our military without cutting defenses. For example we could pull out of Europe and let them defend themselves.
@ArboriusOwns fine by me.. who's going to attack us? Russia? or Saudi Arabia (which by the way is an american ally that has worst civil rights than china)
@trashologram anyone could attack us. My point was that labor and materials are cheep in china so the amount of money spent by them compared to the US is irrelevant.
@ArboriusOwns i got your point, but my point is think about the people too, not just the guns, think about your wealth, in europe it's inhumane to think that a person can die because they don't have enough money to access quality weath services
@trashologram In the US it's inhumane to sink the entire ship in order to give another entitlement program to people when options to lower cost of health care r ignored in favor of a hand out. Europe is sinking fast w/ the bail out of Greece & riots cause people don't want to sacrifice & work a few extra years to stabilize the economy or pay for their own college educations. To many people think the gov owes them good health a good job a good education & a job for life followed by a big pention
@ArboriusOwns but the US are not greece, you're a rich country, if you cut just a bit on your defence budget you could pay a public health care system without "sinking".
and by the way europe is not sinking because of the public healthcare or education, we just have the same problem that the US has (lots of unemployment caused by the chinese and indian growth) but in the small countries of europe (like greece) the effects are much more devastating.
@trashologram The US is 14 trillion in debt we need to cut spending not add new entitlements. The idea that something that doesn't work on a small scale would work on a large scale is wishful thinking. Greece isn't the only nanny state that's going to collapse financially it's only the first. There are plenty of ways to lower health care costs so that more people can be covered without giving hand outs.
@ArboriusOwns well you're happy with your way of life, i'm happy with mine. and if the State collapses because of the welfare that's fine by me, i prefer live in anarchy than in a state that it's only priority is defese. the welfare is part of the modern state since the 30's, losing it would be returning to the 19th century and to the liberal, ultra capitalist states.
Was Vietnam surrender then? Then I must be for surrender. Get the troops the eff OUT of there, minus areas where active terrorists are targeting America's soil as opposed to stationed troops standing on another nation's soil.
Vietnam was in no way shape or form comparable to Iraq, that is what it was. You don't seem to understand the ramifications of early withdraw. It is the exact same situation as AFG when the soviots occupied. We withdrew and it became a breading ground for terror. Whether with the means to attack at that time or not, they will still attack when they can unless we can create a democracy that doesn't endoctrinate hate for the US. The problem arises from dictator's who manipulate Islam,
A religion of works to accomplish a personal goal. It will continue as long as the population is suceptable to manipulation by the powers that be. Hence the need for democracy
About your comment on "I will set a goal on a world without nuclear weapons." So we should just give up hope? We must continue trying to disarm the worlds nuclear threats, and invading their shores, as I'm sure will happen if Mccain leads us, will more than likely cause a nuclear strike. Also, unnecessary spending is a problem; being in Iraq=unnecessary, which you didn't seem to oppose during Mr. Obama's opening statement. Anyone who slows down the video to understand it will realize that.
hes such a liar!!!!evil, muslim pig antichrist, unamerican, basterd!!!!youll have to kill me before i give up my guns!!!

before you say that it's national defence and not wasteful spending:
list of countries by military expenditures:
1 - USA - $663 255 000 000
2 - China - $98 800 000 000
so i think you can still rule the world with half of your defence budget
