  • that gonna suck.

  • *slew of low grade fart jokes*

  • if there was a big teen in space and doesnt get wat she wants this is wat happens

  • what about the big crunch theory?

  • the dark energy i think is the thing that makes it expand further as they say light cant pass through so it must pass through the gaps like squeezing through and popping out the other end

  • Here's the link to watch the full documentary.

    1channel.ch/tv-13484-The-Universe/season-1-episode-14

Thumbs up so people can see it!

  • I thought this said "the bong rip" theory. I'll be leaving now

  • Graphics is beyond SHIT!

  • Current scientists should ask question to them self If big bang & Einstein were right why in the world they still in the dark about the universe? Big bang is the biggest ball shit ever scientists came up with. Scientists still don't understand we are just more or less 300 years of existence we have left on earth. If people don't wake up & see where we are heading, we will end up in the history books of other intelligent peoples books in the universe!!

  • what about the big crunch

  • Thousands of years of innovation gone!

    Shame...

  • Now I'm depressed.

  • So a Nobel Prize was given for discovering that the rate of expansion is accelerating. But they said that the universe's fate is "turning into ice". So will a big rip happen or not? Is it based on some other measurements yet to be concluded?

  • @ccricers Since the expansion is constantly accelerating, big rip seems to be the end. God may destroy it earlier though :)

  • @paralaks Nope. Since the expansion is CONSTANTly accelerating, the big rip is PRECLUDED. Won't happen. A big rip would only happen if the acceleration of the universe was itself increasing without bound. That is, distance/time^3>0. But if it is constant, that means distance/time^3=0. That means that the shearing force on an object of a given size will not only not increase without bound, but it will not increase at ALL. That's why they say the universe ends in ice. Time will NOT come to an end.

  • @medexamtoolsdotcom Your interpretation is not correct. Acceleration means the speed is increasing. If the acceleration is increasing, the speed will increase much faster. If the acceleration is decreasing, the speed will continue increasing but the rate of increase will get slower. If the If the acceleration is constan,t that means the increase in the speed is the constant. So, the expansion speed will overcome gravity eventually.. after everything in the universe gets frozen -not ice though.

  • @ccricers Big Rip is probable but when you talk about the universe turning into ice or turning into complete heat or heat death theory, it is saying that the universe basically will not be able to do any more work as in creating suns and all that type of thing and so it had reached maximum entropy causing it (universe) to freeze over or "heat death". Really you could say both are right its the matter of predicting which one will occur first.

  • @ccricers it will turn to ice,its called "the big freeze".

while the universe is expanding...the heat will constantly drop down to the point where it somehow "freezes",afterwards the big rip will occure

  • @ccricers Due to new evidence its likely the big chill will happen rather than the big rip.

  • So something coming from nothing in the beginning, turns into nothing coming from something in the end? Lol, come on guys. We may not understand it, but try not to go any further, the Big Bang may be wrong for all we know.

  • @TheMultiverse666

" something coming from nothing" - i really dont understand how you creationists can say that without laughing :D who said it came from nothing?

  • @Kiesel And who said I was a creationists?

  • @TheMultiverse666

    arent you?

  • @Kiesel It shouldn't matter who I am, I was just asking a question, which had nothing to do with that. You can't just assume I'm a creationist, and that's what I want to know, did the Big Bang come from nothing? If it didn't, then what created what? How did the universe really start?

  • @TheMultiverse666

if i was wrong i apologize for assuming something wrong.

afaik it is unknown what caused the big bang.

  • I like it how that when the prof' speaks there is a church in the background :)

  • absolutely mind boggling!!!!

  • so neptune would die in heat but not cold

  • the rip theory, its basically utter anihilation?

  • wonder what happens when our universe is gone ? another big bang ?

  • The big rip violates one too many principles of physics to even be looked at-_-

  • @fcdog555 Correct. Plus it required that the cosmological constant not be constant - rather that it grows over time. No evidence for this.

  • @csmcmillion Totally.

Btw, you didn't happen to come from the relativity lecture video did you?

  • @fcdog555 Yep. Working my way through it this weekend. Susskind is the man.

  • @csmcmillion haha You did exactly what I didXD

I was just watching the lectures as well.

    Theoretical Physics ftw

  • We got million of years to discover what happening in space and in those years will have advance techonlgy and maybe some ET alliance and if it's true I rather kill myself then get torn apart or get melted.

  • @ShahMatification This is one of the theories but it depends on some factors which are still unknown to us. I find it extremely mind blowing though! Search for Big Rip Theory in Wikipedia to get more information about this :)

  • Subhanallah.. Didn´t Prophet Muhammad(saw) describe something very similar to this about the day of judgement that the Sun will get really close to the earth. Muslims brother know what i am talking about.

  • @islam12745 You are very correct brother!

  • @islam12745 besides being an expert in astrophysics, 13 centuries before us, Muhammad was also an expert in anatomy given he spent so much time dicing, slicing and dissecting people. Too bad he didn't heal too much people... instead...

  • @jceiras Are you really comparing whos religion is better? IN A ASTRONOMY VIDEO? GET THE FUCK OUT

  • @islam12745 i agree

  • @islam12745 religion is not fact

  • @91Tribual still alot of predictions witch are written in the Quran have been established. And from the Prophets Sunnah(pbuh). For example this video. Is very similar to a Hadith" An authentic saying from Muhammad" Narrated by his companions. When he describes Day of judgment

  • @islam12745 He said a lot of things, some of them are bound to come true.

  • The Big Rip is a nonsense theory based on misunderstanding. The expansion of the universe is not increasing on small scales, and will never overwhelm gravitational boundedness of galaxies, let alone the forces binding atoms and smaller particles. Also, atoms are certainly not held together by gravity, despite what the speaker suggests.

  • finally someone said its "what we think to be true"

  • I think I'm going to be sick.

  • @TrevorD9 I don't think I want to think about that. ( YUK!)

  • So Basically we All Just Disintigrate?

  • xdsss

  • It always dawned on me but my theoretical point of view is the start of a universe ( going by the big bang theory) should go hand-in-hand with the end of a universe; just like how a death of a star gives birth to new star(s). Scientists believe the Big Bang was caused by inflation...maybe the universe itself is being inflated (with what? I don't know) and when due time, it will deflate to one single point and the whole 'Big Bang' cycle starts all over.

  • If everything at the end is going to become the same as it was before the Big Bang (in other words nothing), there is no reason why there should not be another Big Bang. If this were so, everything would restart again in exactly the same way as before, nothing would have to change as the Universe would be created ender the same conditions as before.

  • And after the big rip ,nothing stays?I mean is the system gonna restart or something ,or the universe never had a specific purpose for existing and it only exists to end. Then everything is pointless on a global scale :P.I know this is only one of the three scenarios phycisists know about but still....

  • And after the big rip stays nothing?I mean is the system gonna restart or something ,or the universe never had a specific purpose for existing and it only exists. Then everything is pointless on a global scale :P.I know this is only one of the three scenarios phycisists know about but still....

  • Thank you, now I'm understanding the big rip a bit better =)

  • @Weltraumeule Glad to hear! :)

  • Can YOU SCIENTIST THINK ABOUT HOW IT ALREADY BEGUN BEFORE YOU GUYS JUDGE HOW IT WILL ALL END!?HOW CAN YOU GUYS MAKE AN ENDING WITHOUT KNOWING HOW IT ALL STARTED?

  • @o2jammersmerick Why not both?... There are multiple theories for how it ends and there are theories about how it started. The theories on how it will end don't require you to know how it started, for example if I had a pet spider I could theorise that its life will end by bug spray, by an animal eating it or from age. None of these "theories" require me to know how it was born, whether it was from an egg, spaghetti monster or beastiality (... Hey, just sayin', lol).

  • Wow this video is so cool.

  • I think theres not only one universe. only we live in one. and maybe sometime in the future we know how to get into other ones...

  • Big deal...super beings will simply excede the speed of light..and alway avoid the big rip of the future. Easy.

If you can always go into the past -the future is no worry.

  • @knowallcity nothing can excede the speed of light...

  • @NaYarB04 the expansion of the universe itself can excede the speed of light

  • Big deal...super beings will simply excede the speed of light..and alway avoid the big rip of the future. Easy.

  • k heres the thing if the mater expans every where every thing wood be gone in a instan :/

  • Well fortunately neither I or my great-great children have to worry about this so I'll still sleep well tonight.

  • ok maybe this is crazy but i think it begin with big bang then big crunch comes then 5 min later big bang again MAYBE this is happen alot of times but no one knows and no one can awnser it simple fact we cant really see what going happen no one know

  • @RDilus It's an interesting idea - and not an un-thought-of one, either. But you can't decide what you believe based on what sounds cool. You have to base it on observation, calculation, and repetition.

  • The big Crunch would be scarier, imaging being squeezed into matter smaller than an atom

  • For all I know we could be a Age of Empires game that keeps bringing expansion packs and updates. It could be !

  • Even though both scenarios equal death, to me The Big Rip is a more appealing concept than The Big Crunch. Maybe my claustrophobia keeps me from imagining the universe collapsing on itself, but that just seems like end of story. It's not set in stone that another Big Bang will happen. The Big Rip goes hand in hand with an accelerating universe, one that doesn't really destroy itself but simply expands forever until it is too cold to support life. Stars are ripped apart but maybe something else

  • @chainbluelightning1 Claustrophobic approach rocks! :)

  • this is how trough physics you approve your Christian religion; you talk of expanding universe and have the growing population in mind

  • hi moon hi

  • part 2

  • big rip or big CRUNCH?!

  • this is only 1 of 3 main theorys on the end of the universe, this also is the one that is least expected to happen by the smartest people on earth, the other two are the big crunch and the big freeze which i think is the most popular one where everything overcomes the collapsing force of gravity from the inital bang and just slowly dies ... bummer huh

  • The BIG bang-Big rip then ........BIG BANG!

  • What about a big rip, followed by the big crunch of all that matter/atoms? thatd be cool :]

  • @sk8drumdie0116 according to the big rip theory matter disintegrates into nothingness.

Therfore there can never be a big crunch afterwards. but perhaps this tiny bit of matter doesn't just dissapear but creates a new 'big bang' with new big rips and so on.

Even with this there will be no big crunch...

  • Interesting theory about the outer planets...

but the whole fucking planets (the outer ones, at least) are made up of gas. How the fuck does a massive rock remain?

  • it's not just for outer planets, it's for all the matter in all the universe.

It's believed that jupiter has iron and nickel floating around in it's core, but this isn't certain.

  • Isn't this an explanation for the big bang? Since if everything will move faster away from eachother and will split into nucleus or smaller wich will eventually reach the speed of light and it gets 'pushed or pulled' even further it will become more dense (or try to become) and eventually collapse upon itself wich probably wouldn't go without a bang, since matter doesn't just disspaear but gets converted one way or the other...

  • How do you know quanta are affected by gravity? There is not yet a theory of quantum gravity. Also, what do you mean by, "if quanta wherent affected by gravity nothing would be"? Quantum flux is believed by many to have kick-started the Universe, but how could gravity have existed prior?

  • but thats not the point

the point is the Big Rip says that the universe's expansion will eventually tear atoms appart

thats just plain stupid and impossible cus the cosmological constant is always smaller than the gravity's attractive force. its a component of gravity after all ...

so even if the universe is expanding faster than light , its impossible for atoms and solar system to fly appart ... in plain words dark energy is only noticable at large distances, and very weak

  • It is impossible~!

  • they say that the universe is infinity how can they tell that the universe is expanding!?

  • Universe is infinity in the sense, if you travel around the world you never come to an end but the earth has a finite volume.

  • I don't know who the they you are reffering to are... but scientists never said that the universe was infinity.

  • @agrias09

the red light shift, discovered by Hubble...look it up...

  • @agrias09 For all I know, the universe is finite but without boundaries.

  • @agrias09 The Universe isnt infinite. I dont know where you got that information from. Our Universe has a size. And it is expanding. But there isnt just our Universe. There is a Multiverse. Everything is bigger then we can understand.

  • a theory that violates all laws of physics

the cosmological constant lamba can NEVER be larger than the gravitational force ..

its called a CONSTANT for a good reason ..

it grows as the gravity pulls matter together ..so whenever matter is squeezed by gravity ..it then expands a tiny bit ..

its impossible for it to grow stronger than the gravity itself ... so atoms cant be torn apart.

the most likely end of this universe is the heat death ...

  • @sidewaysfcs0718, the laws of physics are not consistent throughout the Universe - for instance, black holes. Another example - quantum particles, which are not affected by gravity or any other forces or influences.

  • quanta is affected by gravity , but the effects are so little we cant measure them ....if they wherent affected by gravity then nothing would be ....

and what makes u think black holes arent consistend with the laws of physics? we simply cant measure what happens inside the event horizon , we know there has to be a singularity , and we know the infinite curvature of space is whats causing light to not get out ...

  • How do you know quanta are affected by gravity? I don't think black holes are consistent with the laws of physics because the extreme amount of gravity involved doesn't allow the laws of physics to work, as a black hole doesn't even let light escape, and also, gravity warps the space-time fabric, and for laws of physics to work, you need a consistent timeline, ie from a start time to an end time, we know that such and such process will happen. Time in a black hole would be too inconsistent

  • if quanta wherent affected by gravity nothing would be ....

the laws of physics are in lair ..theres newtonian physics , relativity and quantum mechanics

3 sets of laws , each of them are correct for their scales , but when applied to each other they are inconsistent ..

for black holes we use a mix of relativity and quantum mechanics to explain the problem of entropy and hawking radiation ...the relativity explains it basic mechanics ...newtonian physics dont really apply to black holes ..

  • also could not the same quantum fluctuations cause the acceleration of the expansion?

  • the quantum mechanism...could it be that a quantum fluctuation in the angular momentum of the primordial singularity caused a fluctuation beyond the event horizon initializing the big bang as spacetime as we know it could not maintain such an energy density thus tearing it ie creating matter spinning off in all directions which it can wizz?

  • a rose is not a rose but nor would it smell so sweet were it to be in a black hole where its only attributes would be mass charge and angular momentum.

  • this video was fun to watch, rate of expansion is b.s.. its been disproved time after time, but it shows the universe to be younger , so the data is disregarded. wait there will be a few papers coming out in the next year and they will explain it with data.

  • Oh yes. I've watched this on the Universe Season 1 DVD set. I think it's from the last, extra-long episode. Definitely very professional.

  • Clip is from Universe series, season 1... good stuff

  • Hey, a pity that only 85 people watched this video. It gives a good brief description and the small movies showing the end-of sun development and the big rip hypothesis are also fine. Thanks.

  • its 305 now

  • You are welcome.

  • Thanks for the upload.
