apparently the car never hit the spectators.. they were lifted of coz they hurt there selves by jumping and dodging the car.. no idea if true or not.. just read it off a forum
At 1:15 you can see how hard this guy is trying then at 1:24, the photographers are stood at the inside of the hairpin with marshals standing by watching? I was at this point and on 3 or 4 occasions these lads were lucky not to be hit.
I was standing in the hairpin like you see in the video and it was really scary to see the car going in to the spectators. I'm glad that they are not badly injured.
The rest of the event was really a great experience for us. Next year we want to come back for sure.
Excellent video thanks. For the crash at 2.13 I was stood 5ft from where the car ended up, but was 30ft away and behind the lower tree when it stopped. 3 people were injured, it seems from the scramble to get over the bank/ fence.
In hindsight, it was lucky that nobody was more seriously hurt, possible due to the fact that the accident started 200 yards up the road. I would certainly advise against anyone standing on the part of OM in future...unless in extremely close proximity to a tree.
it was lucky that he didn't go through the tree! or else a lot more people would of been hurt, i watched it all happen from the bottom of the hill, near the lake, i was walking up and all i could hear was tyres screeching and then saw the car go over the banking, i took some pretty good photos from this rally, might put them into a video or somesort
