The Russians should probably give up on Mars probes. While the US manages to get about half of theirs to work, neither Russia nor the USSR ever got a single one to work.
Now, they did pretty well with their Venus probes, so perhaps the Russians should try going IN instead of OUT.
They don't trace missiles with GPS. They use radar. They can track satellites IF they don't break up. And IF the satellite falls in areas where there is radar coverage.
As missiles generally don't break up in flight, and in most cases, are flying AT things with radar......
It helps to have a little information, rather than running on like a prat.
Also a young WA guy found a few pieces of Skylab at his home in Esperance, caught a flight to San Francisco and collected a $10,000 prize (a lot of money back 1979 [my first new house cost $61,000 in 1983].) offered by the San Francisco. Examiner

What they dont have gps on a satelite? Fucking dumbasses...

@Hillsillverr
How would it work when it's in orbit? If it isn't below the satellites (and most likely, even if it is), it isn't going to pick up the signal.
It's not going to pick up the signal during re-entry, either....too much interference.
Then the GPS locator would have to survive re-entry.

@SiriusMined You sound like a dumbass, they can trace missiles, but they cant trace a satelite? GTFO!

On a serious note - I am very upset that this mission is not going to succeed. Would have been marvelous.
