Hoagy Carmichael would have adored this version, arguably the most romantic rendition ever recorded. I often play this first and then follow it immediately with Stef's great take on " More".

Great man...great talent...how blessed we are to have had him in our lives. His music fills my heart with so much emotion and many beautiful memories.
What a brilliant version of a great song. I would love to have seen a video clip of him playing this. I actually saw him play a concert in Brisbane, Australia back in about 1978. It was still the best concert I have ever seen...so much energy !
I love Stephane Grappelli, and this is my absolute favorite song!!!!! Thank you sooo much for posting this. It's so beautifu, I had my first kiss to this song!!!! Ah, it's so romantic. Makes me want to go star gazing. Even though it's only 1:30 pm.
I was in Paris two years ago and I wanted to visit his grave at Pere Lachaise Cemetery. When I went there, it was too late and the cemetery was closed. The next day I left paris. It's a pity. I hope next time i will be lucky. God bless your soul Mr. Grappelli
thank you! i heard this song 20 years ago. It was general reason to play jazz and other music. Now I still trying to get the sound of his violin.Just only trying;-)
En underbar låt och en makalös musiker. Vet ingen violinist som spelar så mjukt och avrundat, så känslomättat och så improvisatoriskt mästerligt som Grappelli.
like tasting the finest wine... and simply being alone in solitude to enjoy it's savor..

Before The Fall
Here we are once again
Now we can only remember
Our lost days of September
But we are still friends
I must laugh out loud at myself
Oh how pride comes
Before the fall...
