idk wat Drworm89 talkin' bout (even though i was a year ago) but tubas don't ever blast for warmups. How do i know? cause i play tuba. if you blast before you get enough vibration on yo lips(warm up), then yo lips will be sore and/or bust ..

@LilSeau because at FAMU they believe in having good tone while playing and not being just another band that can play loud but sound bad. Dont get me wrong they can all "krank" but they'd rather have a beautiful sound over an annoying one

@LilSeau they originate from university of michingan from back in the day thats where they get their sound from and that's why they dont crank. FYI you dont need to play loud in order to be good and with them having 44 tubas they dont need to play loud

Obviously a FAMU original...there were some tuba fanfares that FAMU STILL PLAYS TODAY that was around when I was in college--33yrs ago...intonation was good...note seperation and lip slurs were ok...overall--I'd give it a Very Good!...and I didn't go to FAMU!...Their band is BY FAR the BEST BAND IN THE U.S.--Hands down...Doc Foster created something that's hard to duplicate--PRIDE & TRADITION...that's hard to do
