You guys act like Drysdale is calling out Fedor or something. It's obvious that BJJ by itself won't do you too much good when you go against big competition (unless your last name is Aoki), that's why Drysdale is training with the guys at Xtreme Couture. He also trains in Boxing with Skipper Kelp, who is the head coach of the UNLV Boxing team..

So it's not like Drysdale is solely relying on BJJ (it is his base though, obviously). He himself said that he's taking it slow with MMA anyway.

Robert Drysdale is NOT all that people. HE is an awesome BJJ guy, but that has nothing to do with his MMA skills. MMA is a whole new ball game. BJJ doesnt punch you in the face! He scheduled the right person to debut against. Lets see what everyone says after he gets into a cage against someone who pressures him and wants to actually fight.

In order to make bjj work in a fight you have to know how to effectively close the distance on an opponent while avoiding to muck damage. It's kind of like a striker learning good takedown defense. Don't hate just reckongnize when a person has skills. He may not be the best, but how many mma fights have you won?

Ask BJ Penn about getting his head kicked in while trying to work his bjj magic. Bjj guys can't throw the punches good enough and I'm sure drysdale couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat.

Your right about bjj fighters not being able to punch good enough. But If you consider fighters like Damien Maia, Jacare and even Rickson gracie (believe it or not) have had good success in mma. Like I said before they may not be the best but they have adapted their jiu jitsu more towards mma which, in some way changes a big portion of your jiu jitsu game. Jiu jitsu and mma (vale tudo) are of course 2 different ball games. Thats why you evlolve your jiu jitsu and gear it more to strikes.

If the round would have ended, that would have been bullshit cause the guy got submitted fair and square. Time limits hide the reality of fighting. Actually josh was just playing it safe and not doing anything stupid until the referee either stood them up (which was never going to happen considering the stipulations) or the beginning of the next round... which never came even after the time keeper screamed 10 seconds and smacked the mat 3 times. So yea Josh got cheated... BIG TIME.

the announcer did say this fight is scheduled for 3 two minute rounds and the bell rings at 1:58 and josh taps at 4:05 when the round should have been over at 3:58 so if it really was 3 two minute rounds josh got cheated...

I'm not a very big mma fan myself but I do have a question about this video. The announcer clearly says at the beginning "this fight is scheduled for 3 2 min. rounds then when you time it, it actually lasts 2:09. It looks as though Josh was just trying to play it safe until the end of the round but the bell never rang on time. Not to mention it was Drysdale's debut/hometown and TuffnUff wasn't about to let him lose. The whole thing sounds fishy to me.

Tuff N Nuff needs to get there stuff together cause this fight should have went to the second round for sure, musick had a good chance of beating drysdale in the second or third round, but like i said he saw what drysdale had in the first and defended all of it so he was coming out in the second a lot more confident and ready to throw down..

We didn't want Drysdale to win or lose. That isn't how we work. If we had found a over qualified MMA opponent, it wouldn't have been fair because Drysdale had never experienced MMA.

If we had found another guy having his 1st MMA fight, it would be unfair to him because Drysdale is a grappling phenom. We put Drysdale up against a guy who had some MMA experience but was not pro. A guy who had potential to win but wouldn't run over Drysdale.
