Just to let you know, Line does NOT mean phono. Phono is the opposite of line. A CD player, and iPod, a tape deck, THOSE are all line outputs. Not turntables. When it says CD/Line, it means you can plug in a CD and any other line output into it. Turntables have to be plugged into a phono input. Nothing else. Other wise, good video!
I have just bought a rca to usb converter. Where do I plug my lead in the back of the mixer. I have my cdj's in channel 1 & 2 leaving channels 3 & 4. thanks ..
there are no mixers that I know of that can record, just get a converter box, or a soundcard that has rca in and USB out or firewire out or whatever you would like to use, dont make it more complicated then it has to be :P
I have this specific mixer. I have connected my drum machine on channel 3(line). How can i record what I'm producing from my drum machine through my mixer into my pc?
you have to record from the main out of the mixer, and convert the analog signal to a digital signal using a box you can probably get in any of your major stores
hello im sure u know answer about my mixer b700 the problem is in channel 1 work alot silent than other three i think its problem with mixer i had set it up alot of ways but wont work well as other three, when i want hear something i must turn full gain and vol both...but when i check other channels it work very loud...(sry when i make some mistake but i dont know eng langage very well i think u can know what i mean) mixer is aint new :/
its MIX- Cue and master...thats your headphone knob, when all the way at cue you only hear the channel you are listening to, when at master, you hear the output of the mixer only, inbetween you get both.
When using my mixer in a club my mic signal is far to sensitive. I turn the mic gain to zero and the mic is still way too loud. The only way I am able to bring the mic volume down is by bringing the master down, only problem is that the music becomes too soft.
I am using a sure sm58 mic.
Anybody got some advice on how to bring the mic sensitivity down.
duuuuude thats the Stanton C.324 right??? cuz i was thinking of getting 2 Stanton C.324s and a Behringer DJX-700 Mixer are they any good, should i buy them or do i get something else pleaase if you have any recommendations tell me, thanks!
no I have the stanton C.314s, and I loved them at first, but after a year they started failing, and Im really dissapointed in them...I wouldnt trust stanton from my (and many others who posted comments on forums about stanton cdjs) experiences...the mixer is excellent, but Id save for Pioneer cdj 400s if I were you, thats what I regret NOT doing now...
ok. i have a macbook pro and a behringer djx-700 mixer only. how can i connect my mixer and laptop? i just wanna use the mixer for effects and my laptop has its own turntable.
the mixer is not a MIDI MIXER, so you cant control software on the comp using the mixer...google information about gear, then youll know what to get to suit you best
Hey man, I wanted to hit you up because by the date of the video, you've had those CD decks a while. I just bought them, along with this same mixer and i wanted to see how your equipment was holding up. Those are 324s right?
Hey...no I have the C.314s, 324s are darker... Im VERY dissapointed. One FREEZES on its own randomly. The other turns on reverse randomly. Sometimes effects come on randomly. Sometimes one cdj wont eject the cd. Man Im so pissed, Ive had them for like 2 yrs and they started failing last year. I would defanitely NOT recommend Stanton, save for a Pioneer man, I SO wish I waited for a bit longer and saved...and i do know for sure the new one has soft buttons just like mine and they cause problems.
I have a MacBook Pro and Traktor Pro on it. I'm thinking of buying this mixer tomorrow. Will I be able to connect it to my Mac and have Traktor run through it?

omg i just tried this mixer at a gig today, and i LOVE IT!!! oh my god, its just like my vmx1000 but just better cos of effects. and i recommend for anyone looking for a cheap mixer but reliable. i got mine off bhphoto . com for only 130 brand new!!
Hello have a question, I bought this mixer a month ago I havent used it that much but today when I started messing around with it I get no sound out of my left speaker. the stero and speaker work fine except for when I use it with my cd players..could I have a blown channel or something..im a beginner so im a lil lost any info would be a great help-thanx
Hi, I think your wires may be faulty, make sure the stereo wires from the cdjs to the mixer, and the mixer out to the amp is good, and amp to speakers (unless you have powered speakers)...but check the wiring.....its not that easy to blow a channel by the way.
Im not that familiar with virtual dj and stuff as I mainly use traktor, ableton and reason...but you can go on google and just type it in there are forums youll find to help you.
The mixer isnt 24 bit like Pioneer, but yea the sound is good...the only time you can hear feedback is when you turn the master volume up to max, but I think that happens with just about every electronic device.
bpm counter doesnt give a proper bpm half the time, and the split-cue button for the headphones doesnt work, and the XPQ effect which is really awesome doesnt work sometimes...the kill switches are a big bonus on this mixer though, along with the full eq for mic, 4 channels, fader curve, XPQ effect, and hall effect...
The only problems so far, are that for the headphones the master/split button doesnt work, so I cant listen in to one track in one ear and one in the other, only both tracks in both ears...and the XPQ effect, which is an excellent effect, sometimes doesnt work...
What is the right way to plug my PC to the djx700? and what if I want to plug an ipod or mp3 player, do I plug trough phono or line? what about a DVD player? Thanks for your answers...
you have to go from youre mixer either master or booth output...then from there to the RCA (analog) input of youre converter box- the converter can be any converter box that turns analog to digital signal youll find it in The source or Future shop even-then the box will have a USB output which will plug into youre laptop...to plug youre iphone in you need a wire with a phono jack plug on one end and RCA plugs on the other, then plug output of ipod into LINE channel, and you can try dvd player.
dudasmiska, thnaks for your help but i know own this mixer and know it top to bottom lol... ermm alecaba1 to use your ipod you dont need a converter box.. all you need to do is buy or get any RCA cable with a 2.5mm jack. them simpily plug the outputs into lets say channel 3 and put the 2,5mm jack in your ipod and it works;)
This mixer doesnt have midi capability, but you can get a converter that converts the analog signal of the mixer into digital so you can record youre sets via the booth or master outputs.
The mixer isnt midi compatible, so you cannot controll say a dj program on youre pc or laptop, but you can get a converter that converts the mixer output analog signal from analog to digital so you can record youre mixes using the master or booth outputs, and yes if you mix with the mixer all the effects and channels are active.
i mean this constructively(sp?) but you talk about a lot of stuff not needed. Just show features specific to this mixer instead of what everything does. If you know anything wether you are begginer or not you know what the eq's do as well as how to monitor. It's a good video I think you just explain too much of the basics instead of features unique to this mixer.
Yea I understand what youre saying, but youd be suprised at how many beginners have a problem understanding the basic functions of the mixer...but yea Ill do another vid for specifics later on.
The XPQ is a really awesome fill in effect...when you turn it on you notice it gives a little umf into those tracks that just sound a little dull, try it out its awesome-and only exlusive to Behringer mixers in this case....when you turn on the sync lock, thats when the time offset and tempo leds light up above the crossfader, this is nice although I dont use it, unless I want to show off my mixer with colourful buttons lol, but sometimes the beatcounter is off and it doesnt work but yea.
yea the stanton cdjs are not very reliable at all...I wouldnt get it again thats for sure, they dont last...try to go for the Pioneer CDJ 400 instead or something like that, save youre money and buy good quality its worth it.
Hi, i just bought a Behringer DJX 700 and i want to work with virtual dj and the mixer ONLY (no cdj's etc..) and i have the same 2 musics playing in difrent channels how do i puat one music in one channel and the other music on the other channel? Thank you
Hello, this mixer isnt midi compatible, but you can get a converter that converts the analog signal from the mixer into digital for the computer or pc, you can record youre sets using that converter via the master or booth outputs.
if you crank everything up to the maximum....especially the master volume you can hear a little bit of each channel fainlty, but you should not crank it to the max anyway so its not much of a problem.
Do Phono inputs have preamps for extra amplification? I once pluged a cd onto a phono input and it was very distorted> this was ac a few years ago when I was just learning about DJ equipment. I do run sound for my church. Nice Video
they might have a little amplification, like turntables do...but those are only to get the signal just to youre mixer...phono input is a weaker signal, and other equipment with a high strength (like cd players) should not be plugged into the phono in, but line in, the phono is only really for turntables.
i think i read that phono amplification is somewhere on the order of around 100 times the line in signal, or around even 2000! im not sure. but all i know is if you do plug your line ins into phono, you run the risk of blowing things up.
phono is only for the titchy signals that turntables generate, they ramp it up massively through amplification.
I used to have a Behringer that had a sampler on it. Is it correct that the DJX700 has no sampler? Also, what do you think of this model for beginners? Thanks.
I dont really have a soundcard, besides the one in my laptop and pc lol, I use ADS tech, RS-150 which is like a firewire for converting the analog signal of the mixer to digital and back.
You can use any mixer to controll a dj software, as long as it is MIDI controllable, which means that each knob and button is programmed and is picked up by the dj software so you can control the program.
hey man. I'm a beginner. I usually use software. I'm considering buyin the DJX700. Since the Beat counter is not reliable. how do I syncronize to tracks for a smooth mix??? Thanks
You should use youre ears for beatmixing, and the beat counter on any mixer is basically the same thing as the beat counter on youre cdj, or software its just that its usually side by side on the mixer...but practise and use youre ears regardless of what the beat counter says.
its a good mixer for home yes, the only problem is that when you turn all the faders to max there is a little bleeding of the lines but you would rarely crank everything up so its not a real problem, its great for bedroom and whatever you like to use it for, but its not a serious professional mixer, remember you get what you pay for
Hi gr8 video ,i hav a problem ,i hav a pioneer efx 1000 effector nd 2 cdj 100mk3s ,i try to use d send or return of d djx 700 to connect to d efx ..my prob is dat when i select a channel to effect d effects of d mixer also can be heard ..ne suggestions ???thanks in advance ...
If you assign an effect to any channel, the effect will keep playing on that particular track until either you turn down the effect dial, or you stop the music source...thats how it is on most mixers and that way you can do some cool effects as well.
even if i turn down d effect dial on d djx mixer ,it's effects can b heard nd it clashes with d effects of d efx ,can u temme how to turn d effects of d mixer off ??thanks
It depends on how much effect is being used with the dial, if you turn it down you wont hear it, only the effects button shuts off the effect completely
also you would probably best connecting the efx1000 through the master out....... Run a RCA wire from your master out into ur input on the efx then pug you amp or speakers or watever into the output on the efx..... that would be the best thing to do in your situation so that you wont still get that problem...... <<<< only do this if my other suddestion does not work....... Tell me about any more problems.............
Ok i have a question , How does the auto-BPM counter work on the mixer when you are using vinyl's ... i heard they really are bad and are never correct .. ty
yea there not correct if you just leave them, but they have a tap button and you can tap it every time you hear a beat and that way it will show you the beat exactly, but remember use youre ears and dont rely on the bpm too much
Hi gr8 video ,i hav a problem ,i hav a pioneer efx 1000 effector nd 2 cdj 100mk3s ,i try to use d send or return of d djx 700 wid d efx ...aftr dat i hav to select d channel dat i wnt to b effectd by d efx.my prob is dat d effects of d mixer also can b heard ,ne suggestions ???
hey, awesome video , by the way just how exactly or what did you need to use to hook up your DJ-x 700 to the laptop with Virtual DJ??? thanks I appreciate this.
I just bought a basic converter which converts analog to digital and digital to analog signals. It basically has phono and usb inputs and outputs...remember Virtual dj is only on the computer its not mixer controllable, I just use the mouse to controll it on the laptop and have that fed into a channel, I manually use the mouse to controll the pitch on the laptop so I can beatmatch it with a record or cd. Hope that helps.
It is fairly reliable, the faders are great very smooth, although If you crank everything up to max you can hear some bleeding of the lines, but its still a good mixer for a beginner. Just think about this, do you really need a 5 channel mixer? Also Stanton makes fairly good quality mixers that are smaller...
Its really up to you, and how much money you plan to spend, the best mixers are made by Allen and Heath and Pioneer, but they are VERY expensive, but Stanton makes some fairly good quality mixers that you would probably be better off with.
Thats a 5 channel mixer, you probably dont need a 5 channel mixer, I just bought one since its convenient to hook everything into a different channel, you can buy a 2 channel mixer such as Stanton as theres is fairly good quality, and 2 channels are enough since they have phono for decks and line in for cd player inputs so the 2 channel mixer is really a 4 channel mixer. Hope that helps.
Hey ive got the behringer djx 700 but mines playing up everytime i use the effects it makes a very distorted unclear sound everything else works but the effects. have any idea y??
Just make sure you assign the affect to the exact channel you want to apply it on, as sometimes the channel may bleed a bit, also make sure you increase the affect gradually from 0 and listen to the sound as it builds with the affect, tell me what you get!
Ok a bit boring though you should try to make your videos more interesting !!!! It just sounds like a lecture no offence but you loose interest very fast.
Just to let you know, Line does NOT mean phono. Phono is the opposite of line. A CD player, and iPod, a tape deck, THOSE are all line outputs. Not turntables. good tutorial. I bought my mixer yesterday. What are the button XPQ for? When do the leds above the crossfader turn on?
JoaoDiogo38 3 years ago
The XPQ is a really awesome fill in effect...when you turn it on you notice it gives a little umf into those tracks that just sound a little dull, try it out its awesome-and only exlusive to Behringer mixers in this case....when you turn on the sync lock, thats when the time offset and tempo leds light up above the crossfader, this is nice although I dont use it, unless I want to show off my mixer with colourful buttons lol, but sometimes the beatcounter is off and it doesnt work but yea.

DudasMiska 3 years ago
i hav the same laptop :P and i wanna buy that mixer! i like it..btw what about that stanton cdj? its good for beginners? how much did it cost?
DJxeroz 3 years ago
yea the stanton cdjs are not very reliable at all...I wouldnt get it again thats for sure, they dont last...try to go for the Pioneer CDJ 400 instead or something like that, save youre money and buy good quality its worth it.

hey great video... i am gettign this mixer along with two numark axis 4 fir christmas.
.. i was wondering if you could help me; can you coonect your mixer to virtual dj to save the audio. so the quailty is better
MURFEE2007 3 years ago
Hello, this mixer isnt midi compatible, but you can get a converter that converts the analog signal from the mixer into digital for the computer or pc, you can record youre sets using that converter via the master or booth outputs.
DudasMiska 3 years ago
ay - whatz ur best remedy 4 the fader bleeding?
jzreadi 3 years ago
if you crank everything up to the maximum....especially the master volume you can hear a little bit of each channel fainlty, but you should not crank it to the max anyway so its not much of a problem.

Do Phono inputs have preamps for extra amplification? I once pluged a cd onto a phono input and it was very distorted> this was ac a few years ago when I was just learning about DJ equipment. I do run sound for my church. Nice Video
peace.
bluetech7753 3 years ago
they might have a little amplification, like turntables do...but those are only to get the signal just to youre mixer...phono input is a weaker signal, and other equipment with a high strength (like cd players) should not be plugged into the phono in, but line in, the phono is only really for turntables.
DudasMiska 3 years ago
i think i read that phono amplification is somewhere on the order of around 100 times the line in signal, or around even 2000! im not sure. but all i know is if you do plug your line ins into phono, you run the risk of blowing things up.
phono is only for the titchy signals that turntables generate, they ramp it up massively through amplification.

I used to have a Behringer that had a sampler on it. Is it correct that the DJX700 has no sampler? Also, what do you think of this model for beginners? Thanks.
eselteee 3 years ago
this has no sampler, it is a good mixer because it has many channels to mess with, and its average quality so its pretty good for beginners

so whats sound card did you use?
cheers
dheez86 3 years ago
I dont really have a soundcard, besides the one in my laptop and pc lol, I use ADS tech, RS-150 which is like a firewire for converting the analog signal of the mixer to digital and back.
DudasMiska 3 years ago
cool.. so I got this little question..
can we actually use any 2 channel mixer to use software dj in pc? for example: Pioneer DJM-300..
cheers
dheez86 3 years ago
You can use any mixer to controll a dj software, as long as it is MIDI controllable, which means that each knob and button is programmed and is picked up by the dj software so you can control the program.

hey man. I'm a beginner. I usually use software. I'm considering buyin the DJX700. Since the Beat counter is not reliable. how do I syncronize to tracks for a smooth mix??? Thanks
fmcke032 3 years ago
You should use youre ears for beatmixing, and the beat counter on any mixer is basically the same thing as the beat counter on youre cdj, or software its just that its usually side by side on the mixer...but practise and use youre ears regardless of what the beat counter says.
DudasMiska 3 years ago
djx 700 its a realy the best mixer?
finocosta 3 years ago
LOL the best mixer is probably the Pioneer Djm 800 or the Allen and Heath Xone 92
DudasMiska 3 years ago
also have you any problems with this mixer, would you say this mixer is for usual bedroom dj'ing??
JackDooner 3 years ago
its a good mixer for home yes, the only problem is that when you turn all the faders to max there is a little bleeding of the lines but you would rarely crank everything up so its not a real problem, its great for bedroom and whatever you like to use it for, but its not a serious professional mixer, remember you get what you pay for
DudasMiska 3 years ago
how do you set the bpm for the effects???
JackDooner 3 years ago
you dont have to, its automatically synchronized for effects
DudasMiska 3 years ago
Hi gr8 video ,i hav a problem ,i hav a pioneer efx 1000 effector nd 2 cdj 100mk3s ,i try to use d send or return of d djx 700 to connect to d efx ..my prob is dat when i select a channel to effect d effects of d mixer also can be heard ..ne suggestions ???thanks in advance ...
surjadjvertigo 3 years ago
If you assign an effect to any channel, the effect will keep playing on that particular track until either you turn down the effect dial, or you stop the music source...thats how it is on most mixers and that way you can do some cool effects as well.
DudasMiska 3 years ago
even if i turn down d effect dial on d djx mixer ,it's effects can b heard nd it clashes with d effects of d efx ,can u temme how to turn d effects of d mixer off ??thanks
surjadjvertigo 3 years ago
It depends on how much effect is being used with the dial, if you turn it down you wont hear it, only the effects button shuts off the effect completely
DudasMiska 3 years ago
ye the best thing to do is on the monitor cue buttton, select master and see does that make it any better......
JackDooner 3 years ago
also you would probably best connecting the efx1000 through the master out....... Run a RCA wire from your master out into ur input on the efx then pug you amp or speakers or watever into the output on the efx..... that would be the best thing to do in your situation so that you wont still get that problem...... <<<< only do this if my other suddestion does not work....... Tell me about any more problems.............
JackDooner 3 years ago
oh ja, ok thanks!
DudasMiska 3 years ago
Ok i have a question , How does the auto-BPM counter work on the mixer when you are using vinyl's ... i heard they really are bad and are never correct .. ty
WhiteQerty 3 years ago
yea there not correct if you just leave them, but they have a tap button and you can tap it every time you hear a beat and that way it will show you the beat exactly, but remember use youre ears and dont rely on the bpm too much
DudasMiska 3 years ago
Hi gr8 video ,i hav a problem ,i hav a pioneer efx 1000 effector nd 2 cdj 100mk3s ,i try to use d send or return of d djx 700 wid d efx ...aftr dat i hav to select d channel dat i wnt to b effectd by d efx.my prob is dat d effects of d mixer also can b heard ,ne suggestions ???
surjadjvertigo 3 years ago
Use the effect channel select, then after that use the effects dial to controll how much effect is being applied.
DudasMiska 3 years ago
hey, awesome video , by the way just how exactly or what did you need to use to hook up your DJ-x 700 to the laptop with Virtual DJ??? thanks I appreciate this.
JamaicanMon 3 years ago
I just bought a basic converter which converts analog to digital and digital to analog signals. It basically has phono and usb inputs and outputs...remember Virtual dj is only on the computer its not mixer controllable, I just use the mouse to controll it on the laptop and have that fed into a channel, I manually use the mouse to controll the pitch on the laptop so I can beatmatch it with a record or cd. Hope that helps.
DudasMiska 3 years ago
yes, thank you very much
JamaicanMon 3 years ago
hey! ive heard alot of bad reviews bout the behringers, i was looking into buying the DJX-700, is it reliable in terms of quality and
sound output?
tarkan11 3 years ago
It is fairly reliable, the faders are great very smooth, although If you crank everything up to max you can hear some bleeding of the lines, but its still a good mixer for a beginner. Just think about this, do you really need a 5 channel mixer? Also Stanton makes fairly good quality mixers that are smaller...
DudasMiska 3 years ago
would you recommend me to buy the djx700
balycastle7 3 years ago
Its really up to you, and how much money you plan to spend, the best mixers are made by Allen and Heath and Pioneer, but they are VERY expensive, but Stanton makes some fairly good quality mixers that you would probably be better off with.
DudasMiska 3 years ago
would you recommend me 2 by 1. im a beginner???
balycastle7 3 years ago
Thats a 5 channel mixer, you probably dont need a 5 channel mixer, I just bought one since its convenient to hook everything into a different channel, you can buy a 2 channel mixer such as Stanton as theres is fairly good quality, and 2 channels are enough since they have phono for decks and line in for cd player inputs so the 2 channel mixer is really a 4 channel mixer. Hope that helps.
DudasMiska 3 years ago
Hey ive got the behringer djx 700 but mines playing up everytime i use the effects it makes a very distorted unclear sound everything else works but the effects. have any idea y??
Zula59 3 years ago
Just make sure you assign the affect to the exact channel you want to apply it on, as sometimes the channel may bleed a bit, also make sure you increase the affect gradually from 0 and listen to the sound as it builds with the affect, tell me what you get!
DudasMiska 3 years ago
WEll its not the channel thats the problem its the effects from 10-30 dont work there very distorted and unclear but the rest do??
