This movie was made before I was born, but I've seen it like a dozen times. It's so honest and raw! Not to mention, Matt Dillon is the eternal stud! I have seen every movie he's ever been in. 13 IS too young for making out. Sadly, young girls are very pressured into a lot more than "just" making out these days. It's really very sad the amount of pressure on young girls these days.

@mehassa Thirteen is very normal age for making out. In the past women were married at 13. In fact the concept of childhood is a fairly modern one. You have it backwards in modern times we baby people far too long. But no two people are the same, everyone must decide when it is right for themselves.

Women were married at 13 but had little to no choice in the matter for themselves. Also, our society does not "baby" people, but rather realizes that 13-year-olds are still very immature and need time to grow up. Back in "those days" many people didn't care about how children felt.

Many middle-aged women look back on those things they did at 13 and have a lot of regrets. Sadly, 13-year-olds will continue to make the same mistakes as their mothers and worse because of societal pressures.
