For some reason, sometimes when I'm giving my rats treats, they take it, start to run off, change their mind, then come back and try to take my finger with them.

...the whole thing. They'd have it in their mouth, holding it in their paws, wondering why it just wouldn't come off. It's really cute, though. Sometimes I give them treats just to see them do that. :)

the most i've ever had happen to me was a rat nipping my nose slightly out of curiosity through cage bars. they are seriously the most docile pets i've ever known.

Yes, Pet rats are great and they should be loved and cared for.

It's only peopel who get them mixed up with plagued ones.

(That's what i personally think is what scares "punters" off buying rats)

I let mine go because of biting. It chomped my gf's finger harder than hell, she bled heavily, then I figured it was a mistake, and the other day he was just running on me, and bit my ear so hard. So, yea hes gone, my other rats never bit us. He was a hairless dumbo, but something was wrong with him.

my female actueally attacked my hand twice today, and bit me... she wasn't try to groom me NOPE ;-) It strated to bled, I yelled autch, and she didn('t run away... Guess it was my fault, got them for three weeks only, first time she bit, the other one is much calmer... I probably did a mistake..

giving her vitamin paste (they love it) on a spoon like shown on youtube she licked it and then attacked my hand... it happended in the cage, so she probably felt disturbed in their "territory".

Lol, that's nothing. My rat Jasper bit ALL THE WAY down on my finger today. He hit a vein and it wouldn't stop gushing blood. It still freaking hurts. He's super skiddish and guess I grabbed him and scared him and so he was like NOM NOM NOM, HUMAAAAAAAN, my poor finger. ;__;

Yeah, that's not good. They shouldn't be agressive like that. I have a rat that is agressive like that and I am giving him away to someone who can train him and spend more time with him. My other three are great, but Jasper is EVIL. He almost bit my finger off today and he does the biting and holding down thing too. It means he's scared and your friends pet should NOT be like that... just my two cents.

a while ago i had a rat that almost drowned. when i picked him up out of the water, his fear caused him to bite me. he sunk his teeth right to the gums into my finger. that sucker hurt for days. i can understand why he did it and forgive though.
