This video like many others is just another fine example of what happens when you face Miami's "professional law enforcement" with a mob of protestors. I guess I would assume they are placing the female under arrest and she refused to "get down". If I might correct you on one thing, the Tazer is not a weapon. It is identified as a Non-Leathal Compliance Device. It falls below the use of a baton and above the use of OC. At least where I am from.

This video like many others is just another fine example of what happens when you face Miami's "professional law enforcement" with a mob of protestors. There's always going to be two extremes in situations like this and people just have to remember every action has some form of reasoning behind it. In this case, I think the officer was justified in his action and while it may seem excessive other means would hardly be effective on a tine sensitive situation with a potentially dangerous person

Tasers are not not to be used for crowd control. I'm not going to make a judgment here, but this woman was interferring with these officers' investigation. People don't have the right to just barge in on something like this. I don't know what this man did, but just because he 'broke his arm' doesn't make him exempt from being handcuffed.

i disagree with your latter statement. he is exempt from handcuffing if his arm is broken, because the officers could cause more serious injury, and if they do, they are liable for a lawsuit. that's just like saying if the guy's neck is broken, he still isn't exempt from being tackled to the ground and detained.

You see, the thing with this video is they don't show us what happened before this event. The woman definently must have resisted or done something stupid before this person turned on their camera. You have the right to peacefully assemble and the right of freedom of speech...but you can't assemble and prohibit someone from doing their job and if you don't listen to verbal commands to disperse or to go with the cops its almost like resisting arrest so they are allowed to use those non-lethal means...as for the taser being that powerful it has to be or it would be completely useless against the more violent criminals

I see Police doing their job here. They are attempting to arrest a suspect and a loud, hostile crowd forms around them. The crowd ignores repeated lawful orders to "get back" - at which point, officers are justified in escalating their use of force from verbal to physical (use of taser).

What was wrong? Andf so - how do you know anything was done wrong here? I heard "get down". There was an arrest being made in the background. I guess I would assume they are placing the female under arrest and she refused to "get down". This clearly a hostile crown and the cops need to keep control even though they (in camera view anyway) outnumbered. Just because people are lound and screaming - doesn't mean that the cops are wrong.

there is nothing wrong with this.. the situation was chaos, the tazer puts the police in controll so no one gets hurt, if you are getting tazered you are being a threat or not lettig the police controll the situation, if the police dont have it under controll they cant tell if anyone is in danger or not. they each have to get tazered in order to use their tazer anyway.

you also have to pass a background check that finds the last time you pissed. If you think it easy being surrounded by more then twenty people and their are just four-six of you a taser is a nice deterrent. Its not as bad as everyone makes it out to be it doesnt hurt bad at all.

Most people are saying that all cops are uneducated high school dropouts. In minnesota here we have to go through a 2 year degree, get certified by the state by taking a test that we pay $105 bucks to take, go through a skills program for eight weeks

This is but one of thousands of cases of police committing crimes themselves. Doesnt matter if your doing the right thing or breaking the law - follow what the policeman asks you. If not - you get whats coming. Think of the amount of people the cops or their partners have asked to get down and how many of those people who didn't obey got a swipe with a knife etc. The cops are their concerned about their own and the publics general. If I might correct you on one thing, the Tazer is not a weapon. It is identified as a Non-Leathal Compliance Device. It falls below the use of a baton and above the use of OC. At least where I am from.

Cops actually create more violence in the USA especially when they do things like this which may cause people to deal with cops with alot more hostility. In the end, you may water-down the word TASERGUN to NONLETHAL, but in reality its a torture device that should not be used. Electrical shock can cause severe damage especially longterm damage and they are quickly becoming a source to vent anger. Tazers cannot be used safely ever and no 1 noz how bad a person can be injured by them.

Could be several reasons for that. It never hurts to have back up, in any situation. Or, a rookie cop might show up with his partner to see how things operate, or the supervisor might show up to make sure things are straight.
