@dmdfct ....per chance did you see him at The Opera House {don't remember if it was called Berkeley Community Center} He wore a Monks robe; performed brilliantly & was ringing wet by the time he finished......I was on the second floor and it was Rockin!!!!
this is one of the masters.magic is all around him.not common person.he were at woodstook too.not ordinary person..few like him, jimi hendrix is one of them.its ous privilege to hear these special people.joy to everybody! old guy from brazil
@nikolaisoerensen This tune is being done in "D" - watch his barres @ 5,7 and 12 - that tells you IV, V and I (octave). The barre on 2nd fret, that's the Em, or ii chord. It's an open "D" or his version of something thereof. (good observation). - don't try to play like Ritchie, there's only one! (besides it'll confuse you and cause more bad habits). Play it here in D - use capo on 7, in D and play it like Harrison. It's Ritchie's voice here that makes this song. Just something you want to hear!
@colebrook100 but I can play it. I can and do routinely, and publicly play it like Harrison (personally speaking... at least as well). As for the Ritchie version; I can play it and have; publicly, except that my left thumb stays behind the neck. So... I don't understand your concern?
I have seen thousands of Beatles covers the majority dupicate the original this is not one of them and it is great! If you are going to do a cover do it differently and add something to it which this does. I haven't seen many guitarists sounding so good playing the instrument in that one finger style..superb!!
took me so long to find this... googling "black guy here comes the sun" and "amazing fast strum here comes the sun"... the fact that this version falls behind all the learner guitarists in front of webcams murdering the song is nothing short of criminal. this is incredible.
Mr Havens....I dips me lid to ya....what a bloody legend!!!!

One of the very Beatle's covers that I think can compete and in this case surpass the original.
