If this is the America that people are celebrating at the Emmys and elsewhere, I'm glad I stay home and - for the most part - don't watch television or movies. I, for one, enjoy reading, writing, exercising, and thinking. And I find the blatant emphasis on sensuality and anything-goes fornication in television and movies to be absolutely disgusting. It's really, really sad.
This was a clever number up until the Sue Sylvester/Jane Lynch face-off. I can see Emmy ripping on snobs who, like Sue, think TV is all an intellectual black hole. But to have the "TV fans" cheering on Jane's opposite philosophy that "Reading is stupid, exercise hurts me, and thinking's a pain in the ass"? Are they pandering to the lowest common denominator or insulting us?
I could say first. But I rather copy and paste the theory of relativity from wikipedia for next 388 characters:
