Pretty cool. I find a good source of inspiration comes from watching levels other people made as well as looking at the maps they used in the actual Doom games.

how can you make the fences with bars transparent

easy just make a line with 2 sides, make both sides middle texture one of the fence textures. then go into 3d mode and set the height of the textures. then edit the line and make it impassible. would you like me to upload a video tutorial of it?

Yeah I watched it all the way. I like the parts where you're outside and there's only a fence separating you from the huge world outside. It makes it really seem like you're in an isolated castle.
