Bullshit -- Roe v. Wade made abortion legal until viability, and after that, it's only for medical necessity. Also, if y'all are going to use the stupid Bible argument (the Bible also says a dad putting his daughter into sex slavery is perfectly okay), it also says that life begins at first breath, not conception, considering that at the time the Bible was written, they didn't have any knowledge of science.

@ForeverLiberalTumblr Babies are born at as early at 21 weeks gestation and survive, while most states have the abortion limit at 24 weeks gestation - after the baby is "viable." Abortions are performed through all 9 months of pregnancy for any reason in some states.

@IStandforLife Nope. It's only until viability, which is usually 28 weeks, but may occur earlier at 24 weeks -- after that it's illegal unless it's absolutely necessary. The vast majority of abortions are before 12 weeks anyway. And your quotation of viability doesn't change that it's a fact. As for preterm birth, bullshit again. Babies born at 24 weeks only have a 50% chance of survival, and can still die into the first year of life, and have a very high risk for extreme health problems.

However, these are typically not life threatening complications. Many physicians have been quoted saying that they never found an abortion necessary to save the life of pregnant woman.

@IStandforLife The awful truth is that before abortion was necessary, most babies would die before the age of one. Most people have 2-3 kids now. So you're going to tell them to only have sex 2-3 times their entire lives? Most of them are on birth control when they have abortions -- around 60%. Not to mention that most pregnancies, around half, end in spontaneous abortion, or a miscarriage. So are you going to call a woman a murderer because her body did what is natural?

They are making a responsible choice based on what they think is best for their bodies, their families, and their lives. It's called family planning. In a perfect world, we wouldn't need abortions because unplanned pregnancies wouldn't happen. But they do. They aren't objectified, they are making choices about their own bodies. The only objectification comes from people like you that see them as only incubators.
