Your argument about NATO and Afghanistan is a common one I see from people but lets look at some facts here...
Russia got owned there despite gassing civilinas and levelling villages.

If it was total war then Afghanistan would be completely levelled within a few weeks by conventional bombing.

Your argument about NATO and Afghanistan is a common one I see from people but lets look at some facts here...
Russia got owned there despite gassing civilinas and levelling villages.
NATO is fighting with one hand tied behind their back as our goal is to try and train up their space cadets which is impossible hence why we should pull out but...
If it was total war then Afghanistan would be completely levelled within a few weeks by conventional bombing.

With regards to conventional warfare, Russia wouldn't stand a chance against the USA let alone NATO. Their only threat (which is still a very potent one) is their nuclear arsenal. Take their T92, not only is it inferior to the Abrams/Challenger 2 and German lep 2 but they cannot afford to mass produce it. This is why the majority of their MBT fleet consist of the older T72/T80. I don't hate Russians, I kinda like em and i respect em but reality is reality.

Agreed. Russia, now, is nothing. Now don't get me wrong , I mean nothing in terms of power. I would honestly want to see them even try and face NATO. 1 day, Russia's done. They simply have no chance vs. Europe and USA. Europe can mobilize so many troops anyways , plus, ex-communist countries (Like Poland , Hungary, Germany, Slovakia , Czech Republic) all used to require young men to go to the military , now these men are 30-40 , they can still fight. Nato countries has more population than russia (china military anyway sucks). Active army size is nearly equal, but SCO countries has drought armies while counterparts nearly all professional armies. European military spending is nearly equal than China and Russia's aded together. In case of war Russia can mobilize 25 percentage of GDP while USA 50 and western Europe countries even as high as 70. Iceland has great strategical location (subs atack coordination).
