@marthinator10 Well, the slapping technique is not so hard to learn but you need to practice everyday to use it like u use ur fingers. Learning different type of slapping technique is essential, try to learn the regular way and the wooten way with the double thumb technique at the same time. Try to turn your finger technic into a slap technic, use the same lyrics and try to make it right. It'll take time but once you get it, u'll not losing it (if u practise)! ;-)

@marthinator10 I'll say that slapping is easy to get started with, but hard to master. Just check Victor Wooten, Marcus Miller and Mark King out, and then start practicing ;) That worked for me :)

The bass u're playing as more impact on the quality of the sound than the amplifier u're using. U can play on "crappy" amp with a good bass 'n it sounds "pretty" good 4 the poor quality of the amp. Changing ur amp'll help u to get a better sound. Also a piece of advise, go buy a new amp with ur actual bass 'cause it'll give u the "real" sound. Lots of people buy an amplifier without trying it with their own bass and expect to get the same sound they hearded in the shopHope it's help u Peace Tak

@takhdtogo Yeah that's good advice. I went to Guitar Center with my Fender Jazz looking for a bridge height adjustment screw match and used it in an amp to test sounds out. If you're looking for an amp to buy, always try it out with your own instrument. I mean OF COURSE it's going to sound good when you plug the shop's $5000 bass into it, right?

@megatapper It is walnut body ;-). It's an artisan A4 special edition and the wood used change completly the sound. (I sold it few month ago to buy my warwick custom shop => which's even more closer to the sound of jamiroquai because the bassist (stuart zender & nick) played on warwick)
