I have a clear vinyl copy of Chrods, I thought was the best work they did. hard to find digital copies ofdayGreat stuff and glad that people still enjoy this stuff today..
Youtube keeps the music alive and helps introduce young people to great stuff like Synergy, Camel, Peter Bardens, Kitaro, Shadow Fax and of course Tangerine Dream.
This is my fave synergy album. For some reason a few of the tracks always sound Christmassy to me! This one blew me away when I first heard it. What's he up to these days?
Great holistic bands are---Melting Euphoria, Ozric Tentacles, Gong, Mother Gong, Acid Mother's Gong, Magma, Aphrodities Child, Jade Warrior, Steve Tibbetts, Patrick Bernard, Lost at Last, Larry Coryell, Shakti, Oregon, Kazumi Watanabe, Toninho Horta, Egberto Gismonti, Eat Static, System 7, Lisa Gerrard, Dead Can Dance, Magma, Sphongle, Bill Laswell, Stomu Yamashta, Here and Now band, Steve Hillage.
Fast is a genius. Loved his stuff since I heard Relay Breakdown on the old old Chum FM when FM rock mattered. I have this album and a couple of others. Great synthethist and composer. Thanks for the post, Mr.DeadMartin.
Absolutely amazing. I too first heard Rob Hubbard's version, but in some sort of early C64 demo named MECHANIX (Or maybe that was the demo-group's name...I couldn't find anything out about it online, except when you hit runstop-restore (I think) it would display "Twelve AM" in cursive script, and not do anything else...this was circa 1985)
I like Synergy's version better in terms of its beauty, but the Rob Hubbard version takes the tear-inducing nostalgia vote, especially around 2:45 in.
I love this and Zoids equally, though they have different feels--Zoids is more soulless, mechanical and cinematic, whereas this has a very eerie, calm, dream-like quality.
Although I first heard this as the Zoids title music by Rob Hubbard on the C64 - I eventually bought the album. As much out of curiosity as where Rob Hubbard got his inspiration for some of his greatest game tunes, but also because this is simply pure quality.
I've since lost my CD, though. So thanks for posting :)
One of the best things I've ever heard.

One of my all time fave synthesists Larry Fast. There's something very Final Fantasy 3 or 4 about this. It's so awesome.

That makes me shiver as much as when it's been released, so long ago... And then I must listen to Calypso3 by Jean-Michel Jarre... The same mood...

The only reason i ever played the C64 Zoids game was to listen to Rob Hubbards (slightly more dramatic) arrangement of this song.
I loved it!
And hey, only 20 years later i bought the Synergy album.
