well i though all this comments about ghosting was fake and stuff u know..but now i really see it..no kidding..see my videos..i'm using this moniter..not only that.....i'm experiencing screen tearing...damn it. should have got a 120hz moniter. i have 2 gtx 560ti sc in SLI. my moniter isnt doing any justice..have to keep vsync on in most of the games... this moniter sucks..but oh well i gotta deal with it for couple months or maybe even year and buy a new one and give it off to my parents.

Ooowee, that's purty! I've been giving a serious bit of thought to possibly picking one of these up when funding allows me to do so. Asus has a fairly decent track record with their products don't they? I've always heard really good things about most all of the products that they've put out so I figured on one to use as a "main" - *Computing, Gaming, Movies, etc. since my apartment is so darn TINY* display for my "everything", lol. It would be the perfect solution. Excellent review =) Thumbs up!

@Laquun It's still a LCD display. It's just LED backlit. Which means it still has Liquid Crystal in it. With normal LCD monitors you have a "lamp" in the back which lights up the display. With this you have LED's lighting it up.

@Laquun LED is the backlight, the screen is still LCD, he is correct, VERY common misconception that LED is a type of screen, it is not, it is marketing causing the ignorance. LCD screens have either CCFL or LED backlights, a CCFL (Cold Cathode Flourescent) backlit display contains flourescent tubes, and an LED (Light Emitting Diode) backlit display contains an array of LED's to provide light for the screen.

Screens made entirely of LED's do exist, but not for this type of display.

Do you have problems with poor response time? Mine is so bad it looks like I've put mouse-trails on in the Windows settings when I drag the cursor over a light grey background. Not sure what's causing it and was wondering if anyone else experienced the same?

@theclarkhome You must have the older version with the ghosting issue. If you got it (well, if it was made before) March 2010 it'll suffer from this. You may want to speak to Asus about maybe getting a replacement with the newer revision, or there might be a firmware update you can get that fixes it, assuming it isn't a hardware issue.

For delete ghosting, its simple. press 7 sec on menu touch en same on the touche power. a new spécial blue menu come, in the new menu, Choose OFF in OSD.. Sorry for my bad english, im french. IITS THE SOLUTION FOR THE GHOSTING

I have the VE247H 24" LED monitor from ASUS and no complaints, but wonder how to get the speakers in it working again. Due to having used the wrong control button for volume, having used the brightness one instead of volume, I switched to using my regular audio speakers to get enough volume. Today I learned what the actual volume control button is, so switched back to using the speakers in the monitor, but there now is no sound at all for some reason.

Hi, thank you for the review of the Asus VE248H. I want to buy this monitor but reallly need to know the exact bezel height /width of the monitor (all without stand) b4 I buy it.

I build flight simulators and so its got to fit in a specifc 14" high space. Can you PLEASE measure it for me! If it is 13.75 or 13.8 with the bottom buttons hitting at 14" I'll be ok. If it is 14.2 or greater its a no go. Thanks for your help and accuracy!

I just got the VE249H and noticed some problems getting it adjusted. I was used to a samsung which was nice too. While adjusting i had problems with blacks not very deep. Seemed like a haze. After a few days of going through the settings i think i finally got it. It took some time to get used to it while i was learning about the settings. Thanks for the review!

VGA is analogue, DVI is digital. Besides the higher native resolution of DVI-D over that of SVGA, you won't really notice a blind bit of difference with the naked eye, for the most part. I suppose it depends on monitor/cable quality more than the connector used.
