While I lost my leg as the result of an auto accident, I can identify with people who have BIID. I have transitioned to crutches and really don't miss my leg that much.

Can amputees by choice donate their limbs to amputees not by choice??

@benky182 Technically, that could be feasible. Whole-limb transplant is a fairly recent technique but it's developing quite rapidly. The problem is that due to the rarity of BIID and general ignorance of it, regulations are not in place to allow sufferers to have amputations carried out properly in hospitals. Sadly most of them have to resort to methods that damage tissue too much.
