  • EYY! Are they bugger!

They're like New Hey them! (Same size anyway!)

  • your accent is so cool. sorry that was random lol

  • Lol. Isn't it!!!

Don't go to Rochdale, you probably wont be able to tell what they are saying. It's like... 'Ey Up! 'Ow art Te Lad! Get 't Tenor up!

  • what is the music playing when you are going up the stairs?

  • The Theme tune from "Benny Hill" After a google search it's pretty easy to find.

  • Hi, this is so funny!

    I'm the guide, Maartje.

I remember you, your mother and sister didn't want or could come up with you so you had to make a video for them.

By the way, the carillon has 47 bells, of which 14 of them were made by Hemony in 1658. It's being played every 15 minutes with a musicbox/automatic system.

The three chiming bells in the middle of the tower play B, D-sharp and F-sharp.

If you come back some other time you can ring them if I'm there.

  • Hiya Maartje!

    Glad you like it.

I hope you don't mind being posted on the net.

Sorry, must have heard you incorectly.

I would love to come back and have a ring.

  • P.S. I can tell you something about your three chiming bells now. If you look underneath, the rim of the bells are chipped. This is because the bells were slightly out of tune when cast, so Hamony chipped away at the rim, hoping to get the right tone out of the bells. I was going to tell you whilst there, but forgot to tell you. Bells in England were chipped like this, untill the introduction of tuning machines.

Nice to hear from you again Maartje!

  • Please look on my channel to see/hear the bells of my church.

    Thanks, speak soon,

    Rob

  • Great vid, really interesting too listening to what the guide was saying. A shame she didn't let you ring that tenor!

  • I know lol

off camera i was pleading with her!

  • brillient great video

  • wow. that is one big bell

  • I am using my skills of denomination here when saying that I presume they took them out due to them being out of tune, and stuck them in the room below for the public to give a bashing with a hammer, when they started to do tower trips in 2007.

  • I can't believe they take the bells out of the carillon and just put them somewhere else in the Tower! Can't they recast them??? or retune!!?

  • Those are very old bells, from 1658 so I think that's why they decided to just make new ones, instead of remelting the bronze.

  • wowz! :D
