  • the brits have given us the best music ever!!!!

  • The most delicious voice on the planet.

  • And everything else!

  • thats true i listen his voice from beginning but one thing is important TEARS FOR FEARS have philosophy

  • Oh yes!

  • @Butterflyneverlands hell yeah, best chillout, period

  • Im American but why are most awesome musicians British

  • gooodd i love orzebal, curt smith !!!

    Tears for Fears the best...

    Never Too Much

  • I think he's into some New Age stuff hence the signs in the vid. He's so messed up but awesome at the same time!

  • tears for fears is good man

  • tears for fears is group

  • Awesome...one of best songs ever...sung w/absolute passion, spirit, emotion, guts. What do those symbols signify?

  • They are glyphs used to in chart the skies in astronomy. "Saturnine, Martial and Lunatic" = Saturn, Mars and the Moon. All the astrological (zodiac) constellations have similar symbols - you probably see them more commonly in jewellery and tattoos. In this video I think they've been used 'creatively' - The first 2 are wiggles (Mars is the "male" symbol, the moon is a crescent, Saturn is portrayed on it's side and the far right symbolises the sun.

  • Thnx for the info...

  • One of Rolands personal interests is astrology!

  • I love everything about this song!

  • Ithink Roland is a musical genius who is cute but has not got dress sense. But who cares we dont have to listen to dress sense.

  • this was the one song that attracted me to this CD, but Mr Pesemister(or however ya spell it) is my fave on it. However, I do wish that I could find "Me And My Big Ideas" on the disc "Raul And The Kings Of Spain" is there any way possible to find that song on here?

  • Go to Tears for Fears Roland Orzabal Homenagem - I hope I am right. Give it shot!

  • I have that CD, good choice of music, by the way. His voice is killer. Raul and the kings of spain is on my playlist. i'll try to find 'me and my big ideas' and list it there, too.

  • esta es de mis canciones faviritas

  • This was the third single from the album, but it should have been the second, as it was getting airplay along with 'Break It Down Again', at least it was on KROQ in Los Angeles, the alternative rock station. But Mercury Records had already planned "Goodnight Song" as the second single.

  • Clothes don't make the man, but His Voice sure does....Roland Rocks!!!!!!!

  • Definitivamente Roland es la esencia de "Tears for Fears"... éste album es el cénit de la música rock-pop... lástima que no fue muy comercial, pero no importa... es una OBRA MAESTRA!!!

  • Agree with you a million times... my Spanish is a little rusty but I got what you wrote.

  • LOVE THE HAIR

    THE OUTFIT...LOOKS OK

    (considering the song's theme)

  • I lost the hearing in my left ear at a concert they played in an old church turned bar in Poughkeepsie NY....The Chance....and I would do it again.

I SHOULD HAVE touched his boot.....we were that close.

    Roland Forever.

  • Hmm my uncle knows the drummer and possibly the other band members. I think im gonna meet one of them sometime this year.

  • i think the shirts look cool. It represents the elements, you know.

    red for fire

    blue for water

...i think thats what they mean

  • I LOVE TEARS FOR FEARS TO DEATH~! YES.... for my Bday in 2005 they played my request here in los angeles pale shelter. Roland looked at me and turned turned to Curth and said OK we will play your request w00t. I will NEVER forget that night.

  • i love his voice . it is so powerful.

  • This is great...this is great!!!

  • I dig this song....and the video. I'm not a fan of the crushed velvet suits, though! LOL

  • yar, but roland rocks it.

  • cool video:)

  • one of the absolute best bands of all time. Roland is a genius

  • EARTH-AIR-FIRE-WATER

SUN & the MOON, WIND an the RAIN...

    awesome!

  • Roland is my hero!

  • Hello,, I just read from a statement Curt made that they are doing a concert in Germany this fall,,, and also one from roland that they (or he) has many more songs written, but did'nt say he (they) would do more recording.

  • Where did you read these statments? I'd love to see them! God I hope he does record more. It's been too long! 4 years since the last cd. It's time already!!!

  • I;m sorry I don't remember where they were because I bounce around scarfing up tid'bits here and there.. but try Curt's website for his statement!

  • There is'nt one part of this video that is not totally perfect!! He just is beautiful in every way,,, I missed seeing Curt in this era. they just really complement each others voices,, Yes Roland sings beautifully on his own as does Curt but why mess up a good thing, I know things happen for a reason!!

  • Roland is just too cool! His musical arrangements, lyrics, and voice make him the talented artist that he is (in a way I feel like this is his solo career in a way, but with the TFF title).

  • Excellent all around! Roland is brilliant!

  • wonderfull video...

  • Is that Michelle N'degeocello playing the bass?

  • No, it's Gail Ann Dorsey. She played the bass for both the Elemental and RATKOS albums.

  • check her out on David Bowie's A Reality Tour dvd. she sings Freddie Mercury's vocal parts on "Under Pressure". she owns it. my fave TFF album with OR without Curt Smith.

  • Oh yes, you are right. To step into Freddie's shoes for that song was a next-to-impossible task. But Gail managed to pull it off with conviction and sheer power!

  • That is Michelle N'degeocello on bass. Not Gail Ann Dorsey.

  • I take this comment back that is Gail Ann Dorsey. Damn I didnt realize the two of them look so much alike.

  • no way.

  • Roland does as you can see, play guitar..he also plays piano quite well, speaks several languages and was trained in opera...hence the strong vocal chords.....

  • ya 2 1/2 men thats it! lol

  • He looks like Komodo from Warriors of Virtue lol

But i love tears for fears i promise, its just a funny resemblance

  • He does look a bit like Komodo from W.O.V... Angus Macfadyen.......great also in Braveheart...Roland can look like whomever he wants to!!! He is perfect!!!

  • You can say that again and again, sister (in age).

    He iiiiiiiiiiissss perfect!!!!

  • Your a fucked up little kid...

  • interesting posts from you... grow up little person. oh and do everyone a favour and go away!

  • I love TFF and this song. I just relized that he looks like the actor Jon Cryer, on 2 & 1/2 men, "pretty in pink". Any way I have all their CD's.

  • i thought i was the only one who saw the resemblence in him and Jon Cryer LOL! i was happy to see Jon Cryer get a part on a new show with Charlie sheen, forgot the name but ya im glad he's still active unlike most of our 80's role models lol!

  • Roland Jaime Orzabal de la Quintara

  • stronger voice..

  • Welcome to the Roland world! He's so incredible!

  • tears for fears will always be a great band no matter what. although roland and curt had their differences before, for the love of music they got together again. nobody can top that!!

  • and this is my favourite song,i loved roland's voice....

  • My dad died before 3 weeks and he is the biggest fan

TFF,he wants on his funeral played tears for fears:Sword and knives, closest thing to heaven and me and my big ideas,RIP daddy

  • welcome to the new world !!!

  • Thank you for the post it is the first time i am seeing this video . I feel that you are right the media really kicked this album to the crub. Roland's songs are so deep that is why i really love Roland's work. Hope to see them tour soon!!!! Tears for Fears forever

  • thanks for posting it love the song alot

  • I am a HUGE heavy metal fan, and I have to say that I have always been one of TFF biggest fans. Roland has golden vocal chords, and I will always be paying attention to whatever he does next...one of my mentors for sure.

  • Forget the song, the ENTIRE album is great. An overlooked gem.

  • Not easy to live in Sparta as a man with a caring heart. You suffer through alot of abuse, jabs and nights without the true love of a good woman. I thank God who has a bleeding heart (no matter what some people think) as well as good folks and the music they made to help guide me through this wasteland back home.

  • what's your problem dude. seem to tell long stories which matches the old movie dialogues. are you upset about anything or in your life. consult a good doc.

  • My heart survived where many hearts did not. I have survivors guilt in a way I guess. This frozen wasteland of dead hearts and minds I've trudged through for the past 15 years has left this creature of light a bit dimmer than I should be. Believe me, I'm still here to be myself again. It's all I really want. Not trying to be a wet blanket, just asking for help.

  • I'm on this train now but I still have a few worries and questions about the past. My heart was frozen in time by the unknown who evers. That's why I'm here at the place my heart was bolstered as a teenager. I need to be healed not told to shut up. Sorry for such long posts but I need to show the doctors where it hurts... right?

  • Just things I noticed. It seems to be over now so why worry right? But what if it happens again? I love your music but I have no interest in credit cards, too risky and they only put me in debt. I buy my music so as not to hurt great artist like Orzibal and Smith. I pay cash for my internet connection as well. So the music store is my only option. Still think I'm hype'n you then "Welcome to the real world".

  • Wonderful song. I totaly missed this era of Tears for Fears. I swear they were blocked from the public conscience here in the south-east U.S. right after Sewing The Seeds came out. It was like a ban on healing music. Seemed as though musical minded people were forced to go country or grunge or stoner. Weird but true, makes me wonder why. Doesn't it make you wonder? If you had been here to notice it, you'd know I'm being truthful. Not just pumping you full of hype. Tears for Fears forever!

  • thiis agre i an son loe it :) tears ofear fan forever!!!:)

  • yes, yes, yes, its a fantastic

  • Love this song. Thanx! :)

  • What a powerful song.

  • Totally agree.

  • I love this song! This whole album rocks! But I'll have to admit, Roland does look a little scary in this video, but totally cute ;)

  • Ahhh, it's so fulfillingly wonderful to hear this song again.

I love TFF, and I always will.

  • Are we rushin like the wind?

  • This song takes me back to 1993.

  • Beuatiful Music?

    Grande Música ... linda "Letra"!

    É isso!

  • Man of My Life, No Doubt about this!

  • Great song! But the video is quite bad.

  • Muuuuiiiito bom!!!Sonzeira do TFF...4ever!!!

  • *sigh*.. I love this man.. =D

this is my favorite vid from Elemental. I have to have a "roland Fix" at least once a day...

  • scott - Do you not think that this video is rather violent?

  • not at all, dramatic maybe, but not violent, unless you are referring to the violence of nature.

  • scott - Do you think that nature is unequivocally beautiful, be it tundra, desert or lake?

  • sorry didn't mean to post that twice

  • Wouldn't oozing sex all the time be kinda messy? lol

  • LMAO!!!! You're too funny!

  • I mean really, ladies, have you ever seen anyone this gorgeous??????!!!!????

  • You got that right sista! The man just oozes sex!

  • Roland! COME HERE RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!

  • Actually his Mom is English and his Dad was of Basque-Spanish decent [but from Paris] I know they changed his name legally from Raul to Roland. Hence the Raul and the Kings of Spain title. Thanks Wikipedia!

  • His parents were from Spain.

  • ...and his great grand father was the cousin of the president of Argentina Quintana.

  • HOT! HOT! HOT! Is there anyone finer than Roland? GOD HELP ME!

  • Anybody knows what the origin of his last name, Orzabal, is? Doesnt sound English to me.

  • Orzabal is Argentinian ( I think I spelled that right) LOL!!!

  • mito bom.

  • While I love Roland's stuff on his own, I do have to say I prefer the guys together. They just belong that way.

  • Roland is diffinitly the mastermind behind tff. He is just breath taking. I am 30yrs old and everytime I look at this man, my heart flutters.

  • Whatever. I am 33 and proud of it!! I got to see and experience the great 1980s. Also, I am still as skinny and cool as I was back then!

  • Oh boy..I hear you..he is lucious!!!!! Was and still is....

  • LUCIOUS!!! AND HOW!!!!

  • I dont think curt was missed at all. Roland just thrived along solo, Everything that Roland had produced and sang, has been nothing but pure talent. He is the sun, moon, wind and rain.

  • Gansta song and band!

  • Im sorry.. Im a HUGE fan of TFF.. but Gail Ann Dorsey can kick Curt's ass anyday.. A musician's musician. Roland + Gail together is top form.

  • Lol im just wondering how you figured Roland didnt play any musical instruments? WTF is he doing in this video? LMFAO Roland plays main guitar on just about every song. he also has one of the best voices I have ever heard. Im sure he plays piano as well. Dont underestimate him. he started Tears For Fears dont ever talk about him. If you do your an idiot.

  • Well, Roland plays many instruments - not only guitar. The fact is this man is a musical genius. He always has been and always will be the brains behind Tears For Fears. Curt compliments Roland nicely but Curt's music without Roland does not compare.

  • well he's playing the guitar, writes all the lyrics, and harmonies and I beg to differ he is musically inclined, so I guess your just going to have to go awol. sorry.

  • lol....yeah can't delete my comment therefore i felt like a fool shortly after i wrote the thing and realized he does...the point i was trying to make is, there's more then one person in the band....

  • thats a good point, He's also had some really great ppl like Oleta Adams who is also a genius. I think what it is for Roland is the expression of voice, Imagine, having the life Curt and Roland did, and you make a band just to get some therapy. Talking about the pain sends it out, singing it, is more of a release.

  • yep, pretty much the only reason i write as well....although at this rate i don't see any of it getting anywhere, but the plus side i might be working at a radio station....

  • roland awesome u r right a crime they arent one of the top bands in britain although elemental was a great album i think curt was missed though roland was definitely the inspiration and more talented one.

  • Holy crapola...never knew they made a video for this. Elemental is my favorite TFF album. Even tho i missed Curt.

  • Great music!!!

  • Curt should have been there. No one is better than Roland and Curt making music together.

  • THis is the best FN video...great song. Roland is a

musical genius too. I had such a major crush on him back in the 80's!! WOW!

  • Roland Orzabal de la Pena e' UN GRANDISSIMO...

  • this wos defo my fave period of his after the split from curt brilliant album yet strangelly like now do shit in ENGLAND most underrated band from ENGLAND and its a CRIME

  • grande pezzo, grande Roland!!

  • its about colours notice the colours

  • Thanks for posting it really like the song

  • Tears for Fears is the best. Roland is the greatest. And don't forget extremely sexy. :) Just watch the "I Believe" video. :)

  • Great song, great musician, but the video obviously sucks

  • Yeah wasn't that bad.

  • can you do better? with the same song..no then be quiet

  • I agree....it is too short for me. I really love this group. I didn't even grow up listening to them. It wasn't until high school did they start listening to them and now I can't stop.

  • The only bad thing about this song is the length. Too short for fans. One more verse and I could listen to Roland crying "These days..." for hours. "Don't say your up when you're down" fantastic!

  • This was Mercury Records' single edit of the song.

  • Welcome to the Matrix.

  • Roland O is SO HOT and will ALWAYS BE THE ULTIMATE MALE VOCALIST!!!!

  • this song is pure power...awesome...thanks for uploading it

  • The two TFF albums from the '90s, "Elemental" and "Raoul and The Kings of Spain" are the best.

  • i LOVE this album

  • essa versao ta completa mesmo??? eh lindo mas acho q nao ta inteiro naum....

  • TEARS FOR FEARS elemental just amazing!!!! what a great song and video

  • Great!

    Just it!
