this is my first radio :D it's a very great radio... and I've gotten 8-9 miles wiih a lil wil 40" magnetic mount or more. And I just had it tuned and peaked for about 20 bucks at 5 watts deadkey and 18.5 peak. Yeedawgy! :D and I picked it up in mint condition from a friend for 50 bucks!
good radio i have the same one with a wilson 1000 antenna and tuned up a little on a good day i can get out maybe 10-20 miles on a bad day maybe 5-10 miles

10-4 jus make sure it loud enough for you to hear it with your vehicle runing befor you pay if its to low get you cb tech to change the resistor

Definitely NOT a piece of junk radio. Get your head from out of your ass. This radio has been extremely friendly to "expansion" as well.
