It is hard to find, more in depth accounts in history~85% is the same ole' story, over, & over again, sort of like listen to the radio, Redundant? I watch a bunch last night, I should have gone to bed...your noises made me feel like someone else in the room with me in my sleep deprived state. Thanks this is a keeper!
Man’s greatest folly is our inability to reason with our selves and prevent such barbaric actions such as war. WWI is the perfect example of this. Was there a need for this war? No! Never-the-less, millions of people died as a result of our stupidity and twenty some odd years later the survivors of that war would start a second world war. These videos are a necessity so our children will learn from them and not make the same errors. May GOD have mercy on us all!
The French destroyed their railroads on retreat out of the North.
Once in France the German troops had to march for weeks in a row, every day under a blistering summer sun with full backpacks and rifles. And they had to fight a very determined French army. The reason why they lost the battle of the Marne, and suffered a decisive defeat, which was in fact the end of traditional mobile warfare, was simple exhaustion.
Kaiser Wilhelm fled to th neighbouring Netherlands. He became a "boswachter" forest ranger in the Biesbos nature preserve. He kept himself from reappearing on the political stage and led a quiet life from there on.

He fled to Holland until he died in 1940. He lived just long enough to see the Nazis accomplish what he could not; the conquest of France.
