  • I followed the instructions and my painting came out beautifully. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and gift with the entire world. God Bless you!!

  • It was my pleasure. Happy painting!

  • YIAMDMB I think I got you now. Normally all that is necessary to make a carbon paper style at the back is to cover all the individual lines. What is happening about the shading you are inquiring about is that where there are a few lines close to each other it is easier and quicker to just combine them together in one shaded mass. Hope this clears it up.

awesomenaats, Thank you for your comment.

  • @c74dl Yes, it does! I think I may have been over-thinking it! Thank you for your reply and the generosity in sharing your gifts with us.

  • WOW! you are a great artist first 6 mins are enogh for me to realize YOU ARE A GOOD TEACHER!. :D

  • I'm sorry...I'm referring to the early part of the class where the sketch is first drawn and then turned over for the purpose of outlining and shading in the elements of the drawing that is then traced again after turning with your red pen. Some of the petals are essentially outlined roughly where other petals are completely shaded in if that makes sense and I'm wondering how you determine which parts you totally shade and which parts your outline.

  • I'm afraid that I do not fully understand your question. Can you please clarify in more detail so that I can reply to you.

  • When you are creating the template with the broad pencil strokes, how do you decide which flowers were completely filled in vs. those that you just outlined with smaller strokes? Thank you.

  • I enjoyed this so much. You answered at least 100 questions I've had about getting started, the best sequence of events and finishing. Loved it Thank you.

  • @608408jyc glad you enjoyed the class and thanks for the dish washing liquid tip, I will give it a try :-)

  • I was told to use liquid dish detergent. I dip the brush in detergent and then take a paper towel to remove the excess and shape the brush before dipping it into the masking fluid. When I am done I wash the dirty brush with water and all the masking fluid comes of nicely. It works very well, is much faster and better for the brush.

  • This painting is absolutely beautiful!
