  • @TheAkhtard95 The ortographic errors are the same.

  • It's a shame that this world class orchestra is in the financial state that it's in. :(

  • 3 persone sono invidiose della BELLEZZA di questa Melodia!

  • sleeping beauty is absolutely my favorite disney movie...

  • anyone know what part of sleeping beauty this is from in the disney version? youtu.be/watch?v=U75HskGHDbE

just the beginning of course, but i cannot remember the rest of the song for the life of me and i want a listen now. (maybe it was in a different tchaikovsky ballet entirely?)

  • i watched the movie it was so lovely and this song is playing it at the end

  • I love this tempo. Riccardo Muti WINS!

  • THE VAMPIRE DIARIES IS NOT TWILIGHT!

    ANNE RICE IS NOT TWILIGHT!

    BRAM STOKER IS NOT TWILIGHT!

    THIS SONG IS NOT TWILIGHT!

enjoy the song, and stop making twilight more popular by ranting on about it while the people who did come here because of twilight go on about it, they are probably buzzing like mad that you can't stop doing on about it, jeez, ok I READ REAL VAMPIRE BOOKS i listen to CLASSICAL MUSIC, ROCK N ROLL, ROCK, BLUES, ALTURNATIVE, HEAVY METAL, twilight is everywhere, just stop!

  • i learned bou the composer through vampire diaries but knew of the song before...in anycase i'm so glad the book reminded me!!!! :D I ABSOLUTELY ADORE THIS SONG!!! <3

  • who on earth pressed dislike??????????????????

  • these three who dis like it have no heart...

  • I have this one from the LP "Sleeping Beauty" on the Columbia Masterworks label which I uploaded the full album.

  • This is the most beautiful music ever. <3

  • I first heard this song in Tom Jerry, along with the Brahm's Hungarian Dance #5. That was when I was still 4. I still love listening to them until now.

  • Wish I could dance on it once (upon a dream...) !

  • Fascinating.

  • Stop talking about Debussy please. Half of the ppl loving it know it because of Twilight =_=

  • @PanthereMauV Indeed, I too have noticed a stark rise in popularity of Debussy's music among youth. For when I've played beloved peices such as Clair de Lune and The Girl With The Flaxen Hair on the piano at family reunions, there's always a select few adolescents that sit and watch behind me, and can often name each composition! As you said, it is because of Twilight, I have not decided if it is a bad thing, I suppose the films do deliver tasteful, eclectic music to today's youth.

  • @ScarceOTatties Personally I don't think of Twilight as an intelligent film. It's a bad written love story that doesn't quite reflect the reality of what's love nowadays. Teenage girls fall in lovewith smthg that can't be & are totally mistaken about things concerning men. And above all, they decide they love Debussy, because their favourite and handsome character does too; they have no interest in music, for they don't try to listen to other composers. Same thing about Wuthering Heights.

  • @PanthereMauV I'm a teenage girl and I fell in love with Debussy and Wuthering Heights before I'd even heard of Twilight...

  • @stiletto929 All the credit is yours then. That's good to hear :)

  • @PanthereMauV Thanks =D

  • @PanthereMauV While I completely understand your sentiments (I too am sick of hearing about Twilight -- did you hear about the Wuthering Heights cover that states it's Edward and Bella's favorite book?), I think it is unfair to pronounce judgment on an entire generation simply because some people may (or may not) discover the classics in music or literature through a modern means.

  • @katiemayyy710 the vampire diaries is NOT twilight, it was written years and years b4 it :)

  • @PanthereMauV ...(cont)

There are so many comments on other music youtube videos saying "I liked this before *insert pop culture reference to said song*" Sometimes I'm one of the people who has known it for years, but other times, I discover it for the first time through another medium. If some girls make discoveries through Twilight, isn't that better than nothing? Isn't it possible they will like it in its own right, and not because a (very creepy) vampire told them about it?

  • @PanthereMauV ...(cont) (sorry it's so long)

I mean, I discovered Tchaikovsky because I'm a ballet dancer. Mightn't one also say that since I discovered it through something, that it's not the same? Not that anyone would (I hope), because it's silly to think people won't discover things from other things (wow, vague I know).

I don't mean to get all internet bitch on you, I just wanted to argue in favor of the Twilight fans (I can't believe I just said that. What's happening?!). Anyway, goodbye!!

  • the best waltz ever. pure genius

  • I know you, I walked with you once upon a dream

I know you, the gleam in your eyes is so familiar a-gleam

Yet I know it's true that visions are seldom all they seem

But if I know you, I know what you do,

You'll love me at once, the way you did once upon a dream

    *_*

  • Why are the ballets almost always abridged on CD?

  • hey is it just me or does the intro sound like the musical representation of an orgasm?

  • @WordsofWisdom2010 it's you pervert

  • This I the song i'm playing for a solo for solo and ensemble. With piano acomponeyment. (yes I misspelled it. My brain isn't working right now)

  • Répondre à cette vidéo...

thats one of my favorite cartoon :)

i remeber i have been dancing on this waltz, when i was maybe 13, and today i dance with my baby in my arms and he just loves the music <3

  • @salvob21 !!!!!!!! that's true!!!!!!!!

  • @salvob21 To be honest, when I saw this cartooon i wanted to know what the artist was for this classical masterpiece. It's beautiful.

  • i feel like crying when i hear this....a person cannot come up with such beautriful music from the top of his head

  • @wayofthesamurai2 Hard to believe isn't it? :D

  • Great!

  • I have heard this a billion times before and until I saw Sleeping Beauty for the first time a few months ago I never realized it.. it's.. weird.. having heard this so many times and never giving it much thought and then boom it's suddenly important to me.

    I feel so silly..

  • 0:30 For all of you who are confused, the waltz music you may use for a party like I am going t be, starts here,

  • @assilemassasin315 Better 0:29 ;) Lol

  • "Yes, they named her after

the dawn for she filled their lives with sunshine."

    Disney did this so well

  • @nearestfarwayplace yup, way back in the day when disney didn't ruin masterpieces.

  • i cant beleive people like Peter can die ... or can they?

  • Bravo!!!!!!!

  • i love 0:30 and onward particularly!! Tchaikovsky is sooo good!!!!

  • Tchaikovsky, with this song, you make me dreamerXD

  • I can't help but think of the lyrics to this..whether they were put in later or not..because they match the sentiment EXACTLY. It's the most romantic tune ever.

  • The lyrics were a completely separate production by Walt Disney. They based their "tune" on this classical masterpiece. It's a completely different piece; obviously Tchaikovsky never had lyrics to a ballet.

  • Yeah I know, I just think they match the ballet exactly. So that's a pretty good effort by Walt Disney. They got it really right with that one.

  • I love Tchaikovsky, he's so brilliant, this and Swan Lake are excellent! Personally when I watch Sleeping Beauty I think Maleficent is the most beautiful woman in the whole movie! I love her, I wish she were my girlfriend. She's tough, but beneath that hard surface I think she's just some girl who wants to be loved. Too bad she's not real, oh well.

  • @Beerlejuice You should write some fiction and put it out there. You could really get her across to people.

  • @Beerlejuice you're the first person i've seen to share my opinion on Maleficient. i fancy the woman, i'm sorry. i think even prince philip does a bit when she has him all chained up. haha.

  • this is the music i do my part in "Sleeping Beauty" to!!

  • i'm doing a ballet piece to this song!!!!

  • this is the waltz of a whole ballet....

  • It's okay to dream!! Lol, I'm in love with that "fictional character" Lol

  • Fantastico! Es increible como Disney a influenciado a toda una generacion de ninas.

  • ¿Qué sentido O_O

  • I think orginally this piece was a bit slower. One of my favorite classical arrangements.

  • i play in an orchestra and we blay it a bit slower... so yeah... i guess i agree with u :D

  • A Waltz can be quite fast, especially when played as a concert piece like it is here. When played as a ballet, maybe slightly slower, would depend on the director/conductor. And for a public dance, would be slower. It all depends on context.

  • I know, it's also my favorite movie!!! It's nice to dream.......

  • Wow!!! the best, I want to be the sleeping beauty; and only to wake up when my Prince kiss me, and take all the heartache and pain that I had in my life. I want to forget about my problems. What a beautiful dream it would be..........

  • It's a beautiful and famous waltz. The thing is that for the uncultured, they associate this music with Walt Disney's Sleeping Beauty (1959) . Thanks to Disney who loved classical music, this gorgeous waltz was popularized. Maybe if it hadn't been for his idea of putting the Tchaikovsky ballet score in the movie, this music might not be as popular today

  • Amazing , what a powerful music

  • I love Tchaikovsky's music. Is so wonderful. His music is brimming with sensitivity. He is (although he died in 1893 his music is and will be alive) one of the greatest composers of all times.

  • Чайковский навсегда!

  • <3 it

  • this is just amazing!!!!!!

  • this is sooooooo cool! I wish I play like it. i has violin and not good. Sorry for my english but i'm french

  • I love tchiacovsky. he was a genius. up there with chopin. and debussy. :]

  • yes me too with beethoven and ravel *-*

  • @olivia8836 I totally agree with you

  • @olivia8836 hell i compare him to beethoven

  • and don't forget brams! :) i agree with you 100%!!!!

  • I dont know about debussy, but the other 2 are my favorite

  • @olivia8836

    that was retarded.

  • @olivia8836 u forgot Schumann!

  • @olivia8836 only the fact that he produced such a lovely waltz, makes him kind of my own hero ... thank you tchaikovsky.

  • @Amyleen6 and he also did The Swan Lake! Isn't it incredible?

  • Youtube was invented in the US and allows fat slobs like you to express your ignorant comments to anyone with the misfortune of runing across them.

  • @fat0nick but this I think this was the music was already used as accompaniment: they played at the USSR's funeral - ahahahah! you lost! and the Americans won! ahahahahahah!

  • I'm a disco girl but I could listen to this all day Tchaikovsky is the best! xxxxxxxx

  • prilliant!

  • soo pretty :") i love sleeping beauty

  • Yes.

  • COOOL :D

Im looking for some ballet (piano) music BUT NOT SAD MUSIC... I cant find it

DO YOU KNOW A SONG ?

  • Itmikepowel, most of the info we have about Russia is seen thru the English prism, perspective. L'Ermitage in St. Petesburg is a Palace, dwarfs Versailles, or Buckingham Palace. Think the greatest mathematicians, aviation scientists, physics, they are paruski. Think of who defeated the Third Reich loosing 11 million soldiers. I am not saying the current regime not a problem for the world, but the Russian people and culture have much to offer.

  • sooooooooooooo cool... it remember me disney sleeping beauty, very very beautifoul...

Sorry for my english but i'm italian :P

  • @Kirty7 I remember this too and your italian? got any pasta or pizza?

  • @Kirty7

    And I agree with you!

  • @Kirty7 l'inglese era buono dai. Comunque,si...l'hanno usata anche nel film..e l'ho trovato molto commuovente

  • I love this! I remember playing it in orchestra when I was in high school.

  • gave me chills and made my eyes water. it's beautiful!

  • I know you, I walked with you once upon a dream

I know you, the gleam in your eyes is so familiar a gleam

yet I know its true that visions are seldom all they seem

but if I know you, I know what youll do

youll love me at once, the way you did

    once upon a dream

  • beautiful writing for strings

  • W O N D E R F U L

  • This song is one of the best songs ever written by Tchaikovsky! Clearly dreamy and magnificent. Stupendous.

  • this is so amazing!

  • amazing, beautiful, brilliant!!!

    T0T

  • This piece is amazing.

  • This is my favorite waltz... it reminds me of my childhood, i love it! thank you for posting it!

  • This is waltz, perhaps one of a few Tchaikovsky's music pieces to introduce Russia's beauty and culture to all of us.

  • WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT.

"few Tchaikovsky's music pieces to introduce Russia's beauty and culture to all of us."

  • Typing error.

Tchaikovsky's music really inspire me to look Russia in a different perspective.

  • The Russia of Tchaikovsky is not the communistified Russia of today.

  • At least some of his works such as Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Symphony No. 5 were favourites among the Soviet society and leaders.

  • You are mistaken, this is incomprehensible mystery of Russia why She could remain herslef regardless all the changes, terrible ordeals and hardships. The country Russia can't be compares with the state of Russian Federation and with the goverment. These are absolutely differentthings. And Tchaikovsky loved the soul, psyche of Russia, wich are still alive. As Fedor Tutchev said Russia can't be understoond by the mind, but can be only believed in.

  • Interesting. I've always loved the Russian 'soul' or psyche, here in the UK people only ever think about money. But Russian rulers have hurt the Russian nation badly in the last 500 years. Too much brutality, not enough humanity.

  • Thank you for these words. You are absolutely right.

    From Russia with love! :)

  • Дура ты Натаха и нихера не понимаешь. )))

  • Comment removed

  • simply love it

  • i pl;ay the bell part lol
