How come when I typed in "how to play guitar faster", I got shred videos? Shredding is way to overused. Soloing should be about emotions portrayed through a guitar, not speed.
@hideaki29 Thank you!! the technique is just practice but you can work on Legato for the left hand speed and tremolo picking for the right hand till you can sync them up at a fast speed. make a video showing what you can do and I will check your technique to match it with mine ;)

First shredicon86 u spellt practice wrong, and nicedog1 its really easy to be able to play this fast, for about 3-5 weeks practice these slowly for about 2-4 hrs a day, than try it faster and faster, it will work, if u like playing guitar and are depressed that u cant do it, and im not saying u cant i just read ur comment in a depressing way, but yeah u CAN do this if u try
@WutangClan4LiF3 yeah, playing without pinky is okay, but my guitar teacher says that he didnt practice playing with his pinky, and now he regrets it because somethings are easier to play with your pinky. He highly recommended me to build up my pinky finger( even though my fingers are really long, and i can easily use my ring finger instead of pinky) just like my other ones. I advise u to do it too

Not many people heard that album! It was recorded right after he was in a car accident and got nerve damage to his right hand. And his manager ripped him off for like a Million Bucks too. Not his high point but I always liked that song.

all speed and no feel...lmfao...says the loser kid at moms computer to the guitar virtuoso. nothing against hendrix or those other guys or whatever, but some people like to hold a note for 10 bars. the art of guitar has long since progressed buddy.
improving is easy... if you have the free time to practice an hour or more every day, which i dont. im with ya as long as your not implying that shredders cant write great music.
do you have any tabs for the licks, cause in a few of those it was kinda hard to see where your fingers were, even in the slowed down segments, if you do have tabs, please send me a message or reply to this comment at your earliest convenience, thanks.
If you can't seen what he's playing, just go by trial and error; you already know the general area, so just use your ears and go with what sounds right. Even if you can't name every note by ear like some crazy guys can, you can still listen and hear what sounds right and what doesn't. It's an important skill to have, especially if you plan to be in a band. Tabs are just a learning tool... you'll have to outgrow them sometime.
damn man you rule...how long does it take to learn how to do that. im practicing alot on how but my pinky finger is very weak and its hard and i only end up using three fingers..i use my pinky for chords though
I know in order to have the best true tone is the Guitar and Amp (tube preferably) connection. I'm going to buy a Laney LCR15 soon. As for my pedals I'm still debating on whether i should get a TC Nova System or separate stomp boxes. I'm hoping the amp would bring my guitar to life. And yes I haven't forgotten that the real tone comes from you fingers.
I've a question again. I just recently bought and replaced my ibanez S 620EXQM stock pickups with a PAF Joe in the neck and an Evo2 in the bridge hoping that I could get some better harmonics. I play through a Roland Cube 60 and an ME-50 for now. Could this be holding my guitar back on what it is really capable of doing? I think so I just want another opinion

Interesting...It's up to you how you use these riffs. A good musician can make even the most "Boring riffs" sound interesting. The improve section of this video sucks I have to say. I was thinking too hard or something. Has as you say "no feeling". I'll probably redo it when I have time. It was kind of an off day. I don't enjoy blues though.

If you can't seen what he's playing, just go by trial and error; you already know the general area, so just use your ears and go with what sounds right. Even if you can't name every note by ear like some crazy guys can, you can still listen and hear what sounds right and what doesn't. It's an important skill to have, especially if you plan to be in a band. Tabs are just a learning tool... you'll have to outgrow them sometime.

damn man you rule...how long does it take to learn how to do that. im practicing alot on how but my pinky finger is very weak and its hard and i only end up using three fingers..i use my pinky for chords though

I know in order to have the best true tone is the Guitar and Amp (tube preferably) connection. I'm going to buy a Laney LCR15 soon. As for my pedals I'm still debating on whether i should get a TC Nova System or separate stomp boxes. I'm hoping the amp would bring my guitar to life. And yes I haven't forgotten that the real tone comes from you fingers.

I've a question again. I just recently bought and replaced my ibanez S 620EXQM stock pickups with a PAF Joe in the neck and an Evo2 in the bridge hoping that I could get some better harmonics. I play through a Roland Cube 60 and an ME-50 for now. Could this be holding my guitar back on what it is really capable of doing? I think so I just want another opinion

If you thing you can define my characteristics of playing from this video that's your educated analysis.Just because I play fast doesn't mean I do all the time. Iam not dissing your talent.
But you must understand that in 20 yrs no one will no who Malmsteen & people like that are,.
Or that they played 1000 mph.
But they will remember Hendrix, BB King,Eric Clapton, Robert Johnston,(still remembered since the 20's.) With blues you have a style & feel that people can recognize. The style you're playing no one would know it's you. It could be anybody. Speed is not what guitar playing is about. It's about character. That's just my opinion.

yea, that's why nobody remembers Bach, Vivaldi, or Paganini right? Paganini wrote some of the fastest solos I have ever heard, Vivaldi and Bach did as well. I like my style of music as well as Yngwie, Becker and the rest of the 1000 mph players. Think of it like this> The average IQ is 90 to 100. My IQ ranges on tests from 133 to 147 depending on the test. I am not the average person so why would I relate to what the average person likes to listen to.Blues does nothing for me.but I do respect it

you think no one will remember genre defining guitarists like becker or yngwie in 20 years? do you know how many people pick up the guitar because they have been inspired by these guitarists? take a look on youtube and count the millions of videos paid in tribute. dude you are clearly just making a claim based on your dislike for this genre... all the sickest shredders combine speed and feeling... if you think that guys like becker, or malmsteen have no character, then you are just deaf.

hotlegss, don't assume that FAST=NO FEEL! That's IGNORANT! Yngwie & highintel play with TONS of feel & emotion! Do you realize how shallow it is to claim that ONLY BLUES players have feel AND that FAST PLAYERS don't have feel? Brian (highintel) spends 10 hrs/day playing/practicing guitar, and finds time to help others. You said that GUITAR is about CHARACTER & FEEL. Well, Brian is loaded with both, A-hole!! What do you do 10 hrs/day besides spew cliched vitriol at someone who deserves better?

Sounds like Malmsteen.
You have to learn some feel.
Blues is more soulful.
Those type of riffs get boring fast.

Interesting...It's up to you how you use these riffs. A good musician can make even the most "Boring riffs" sound interesting. The improve section of this video sucks I have to say. I was thinking too hard or something. Has as you say "no feeling". I'll probably redo it when I have time. It was kind of an off day. I don't enjoy blues though.
