Do you have any trouble with fruit flies getting in to the dehydrator? I have had this problem with other units, which contaminates the fruit?

@helentc - There's a small blower in the base unit that keeps a positive air pressure - in other words - any openning has air coming out of it. We dehydrate outside with fly and fruit fly and none get inside.

@Aramark - nothing gets cooked. The low moisture content of the dryed foods prevents them from molding or spoiling.

tried again today...Still no sound. You hear the music in the first 10 seconds. Cant hear Sarah Lea at all~!

I have tried many times to watch this. I hear the music in the beginning and once she starts talking there is no audio. Any ideas?

It seems to work nicely although it may be in stereo. Make sure both of your speakers are working or that your balance control is centered.

@kimseablemyers The video works fine on my system - that's a very strange problem. You might want to reload newer sound drivers, unload and reload adobe flash, or fry a different browser such as firefox.

Sure! I can make all kinds of jerky. It can even dehydrate juicy fruits like cantaloupe which makes for a tasty snack.

Never buy the clear plastic tray dehydrators .the trays fall aprt after a few month.I also have Nesco dehy and it is awesome.NEVER FORGET TO SPRAY THE TRAYS WITH COOKING OIL like the lady said it will save your end product.I store enough food from a very small garden to last through winter in ohio for 2 people.
