I wouldn't call Phoenix taking a "back seat". It's been 4 years since Apollo was released, and we've yet to get a sequel. Instead, we've had two spin-offs starring Edgeworth (a Phoenix-era character), and updates about a WRIGHT/Layton crossover. Heck, in AJ itself Apollo takes the backseat to Phoenix in the first and last cases. Phoenix is still very much the mascot of Ace Attorney. Also, you're right about the "old ways"; AJ2 is long overdue.

Success is not measured in quantity, but quality as well as timing. SF is succeeding because it took 10 years for a sequel. Same with MvC3 and they are huge hits. They want to release the games when it would make the most money, understand?

They've been messing up their franchises just to churn the titles out.

Just compare RE now from RE 1 and 2. That series has practically lost it's soul.

Look at how they marginalized Clover Studios.
