  • Best film ever made. The music, the visuals, oh man. Ridley Scott really is the best film maker in histroy.

  • Such a good movie, it really never gets old!

  • It´s too bad she won´t live.....but then again who does ?

  • Anyone know the name of the song/music that starts at 0:20?

  • @ps3man76 it's from the soundtrack to 'The Fountain' by Clint Mansell w/ Mogwai... called 'Tree of Life' I think

  • @EarthTremor thanks for replying

  • I love this trailer.

  • I still own an HDDVD player for the Xbox 360. Bought the 5-disk HDDVD set. Compared it to the Blueray set my friend has. Absolutely no discernible difference in picture/sound quality.

  • they knew the future nwo

  • Haha, this mor elike a TV advertisement if Blade Runner had come out in 2011 instead of 1982.

  • I liked the U.S. Theatrical Version of the movie because it had voice over narration which felt very noir like a detective movie.

  • No offence to the uploader in the least, but this trailer stinks of horse****. I mean honestly, any Blade Runner trailer or ad that is devoid of Vangelis' music is automatically garbage in my book, but beyond that, this trailer exhibits all that is wrong with current trailers. They give away for too much info, and in this case, misrepresent the true nature of the film. To the idiots who produced this trailer...I bought the DVD set in spite of your lack of talent and skill.

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO THEY ARE DOING A REBOOT NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • I always thought this was one of the best trailers ever made. . .

  • That's it, I'm buying this right now.

It's time to see what all the praise is about.

  • Love some Clint Mansell, and Blade Runner

  • "Time to Die"

  • pinche trailer esta de la reverga

  • Awful trailer.

  • What's the jazz-sounding song from when (I think) Deckard is flying around, and there are buildings in the background? It's like a clarinet-synth of sax-synth type of sound. The beginning 5 notes are like "ONNNEEE-TWWWWWOOO-TTTHHHREEEEE-FFOOOUUUUUUUUUURRRR", and the fifth note is a lot higher, then it kinda trails off with some subtle, jazz-inspired notes, twinkles or flutes in the background.

  • @CapcomPeter Nah, Taxi Driver.

  • I love blade runner. One of my favorite movies.

  • @Ardvark Its not that so much I believe they hate it as so much I hate it, insomuch as I dont really hate it I luv it not, but when I seen it I luved it @ home after I seen it when I hated it, at the movies, but I no what you mean you eithr luv it or hate it;/ smoke errodes from your ear, fuck Im out of bullets

  • Watching the stylized/ADD trailer version of this film makes me eternally grateful that Blade Runner wasn't made in the last ten years.

SHELVE THE FUCKING PREQUEL, HOLLYWOOD, YOU UNORIGINAL FAGS. I don't want to watch an XBox version of this film.

  • @Batman8657 amen!!

  • @Batman8657 This trailer is terrible but remember that Scott himself has chosen to do another one and says it will probably be a sequel.

My guess is he is pleased with Prometheus (the Alien-related movie due next summer) and is keen to do something similar: A movie set in the same universe but featuring new characters and a new story.

  • @MsPsychophil I've never seen the final cut, so I wasn't sure; the thought just cracked me up. Even if they didn't, I wouldn't put it past someone to at least consider it. Colorization, digitally removing cigarettes from films... people do lots of strange things when re-making or "re-mastering" films.

  • Ha! Did they remove Harrison Ford's chest hair on this remake?

  • My favourite film, but I wish they utilized the Blade Runner score for this trailer rather than that of the Fountain

  • im curious as to what people didnt like about avatar

or maybe they find it hard to take any film seriously

  • @Arzaker screw james cameron! he's a big liberal pussy. i will never watch any of his films.

  • @iammovingtomexico

what so just hate james cameron?

  • 28 people dislike this? Why?

  • @footballfullback shut the fuck up man

  • wATCH cUBE dESTINATION

  • I love this movie! But I have to ask why is everybody talking shit about avatar? It wasnt a bad film! Actually it was a fucking great film!

And even if you do think that Avatar was a terrible movie, why are you picking specifically on that Avatar when we have lots of way more terrible films to choose from? Why isnt anybody talking shit about Chronicles Of Riddick on this video! And why the fuck are you talking about movies that are not realeated in any fucking way to Blade Runner?

  • i hate these modern day re-cuts of trailers...can't you tell that old audio, film motion, DOES NOT blend with new, flashy "the ring" static and dramatic cuts??

  • Better than Avatar!

  • @BatoNY65 avatar was a horrible film

  • Deckard's life is pretty rubbish really isn't it? He has no friends, it's always raining, it's always night time, he has sex with robots, and his job makes him feel guilty and miserable. He's not very good at his job either - I mean he enters the Bradbury building on his own knowing he may well encounter up to two Nexus 6 replicants who've already nearly kicked his ass twice already. On the bright side, he has the coolest bachelor pad ever.

  • @davko79 Deckard's a replicant too, so having sex with Rachel is pretty natural.

  • What can i say ? . Great book ( do androids dream of electric ship by philip dick ) , music beyond my dreams by Vangelis papathanasiou and amazing movie by ridley scott , dont mention the casting , five stars for me . The greatest sci-fi movie still ....

  • Gaff kind of reminds of Rorschach, come ti think of it.

  • how many Blade runners are there? Is final cut a sequal?

  • A stylish, well cast film... but TOO Ridley Scottish...

The material it handles becomes almost wafer thin, drowned in a sea of narcisistic visuals. The main THEMES of Philip K Dick's book are (purpusefully?) ignored!

Deckard is a possible android. Are humans bETTER than Androids? The amzing book becomes a good but disappointing movie. Had Kubrick handled it we would have a different story. Fans of this film should read the book... if they can 'get it', that is...

  • I just watched it with my girlfriend on Netflix.

    What a good movie

  • The only sci-fi masterpiece of the past 30 years.

Lots of runner-ups, it's just they are too recent, as they need more time to mature.

  • The movie is good, but this trailer is SO misleading. Blade Runner is a future detective movie. NOT an action movie.

  • I had the 4 disc DVD set, but had to purchase the 5 disc Blu-ray set as well - simply amazing !!!! the blu-ray needs to be seen to believe - simply stunning visuals, reference quality from a movie over 25 years old !

  • @disengagejam If you enjoyed all the extras on that, do treat yourself to the Alien Blu-Ray collection, as it's lovingly compiled by the same guys with the same care and attention to detail.

  • @fanguk2 -- funny you should say that, i just picked up the Alien Anthology blu-ray about 2 weeks ago. It is indeed amazing, still haven't watched all the 60 hours of bonus extras lol ... the impeccable new transfer for Aliens was worth the wait - blew me away

  • @disengagejam Good man!

  • Saw this when it was first released in theaters in 82' I believe. I was only 12 years old. I didn't understand the movies deeper meanings or all that, I only knew I was mesmerized. One of the best movies ever made. And back when I was a kid, seeing some big punk android freak hunting your ass down like Roy Batty was pretty scary.

  • i think it's a bit cheap that whoever made this trailer stole a song that was scored directly for The Fountain, a similar sci-fi philosophical mind fuck of a movie that, in my opinion, is better than Blade Runner

  • @AEOuriel this is the official trailer for the Final Cut DVD/Bluray. They 'stole' nothing; the music was paid for just like in any trailer.

Fountain was a great movie, for sure, but give credit where it's due; BladeRunner set the bar when Arofonsky was still in high school.

  • i fucking love sci fi movies and this movie is on tv began right now and im watching it!!!

  • Best film ever, shitty trailer

  • Why does everyone come on here complaining about the lack of action in this movie?....It's near two hours long, which people tend to complain and say it's too slow...I love movies like this with the right balance of Action, Suspense, comedy and some great, no...amazing acting by Ford, Yound, Hannah, Hauer, & James...

Shit...Iron Man 2's trailer contained stuff that didn't even make the movie....

I love this movie.....They just want to live.....not fight....but they do to survive....

  • If we only had gotten this originally then we wouldn't have FIVE different versions of the same movie!

  • great freaking movie! almost equally impressive book imo

  • 0:56 lol unicorn

  • Philip K dick rules......this is his best movie adaptation ever......Rutger Haur is the best ever aryan......should have played Lestat....in the Vampire Trilogy.

  • This film bespeaks Oscars for: All of these categories. Best Special EFX Best Cinematography Best Costume Design Best Art Design Best Screenplay based on a written work Best Score Best Music Best Set Design Best Picture Best Actors Rutger Hauer, Harrison Ford Best Supporting Actors Joanna Cassidy Best Director Ridley Scott
  • @jalpafett I don't know about best music, but i agree with everything else

  • @Priestica606

what would you have had instead?

  • @odin2free well it just has too much of a synthesizer sound which reminds me of all the other bad 80s' scores. I don't know if that's what was used but that's is what it sounds like to me. if i wrote the score i would have used a kind of jazz style theme to give it a nostalgic feeling to remind you of the film noirs which it borrows a lot from. and the other parts would be derived from that theme. i also would use real instruments. i'm not trying be pretentious, i'm no composer, but you asked.

  • @Priestica606

ha ya its a multi layered synth vangelis is wicked with em

but the typical 80s sound that was when alot of things were being discovered i guess you could say im not musical genius but ya

Live sets are soooooooo much better then digial studio sets ;)

  • This trailer is PETHATIC. What kind of idiot made this. Seems like a different movie.

  • @bierbuik Rich coming from someone who can't spell PATHETIC and the trailer came from a lttle movie company called Warner Brothers, now who's PETHATIC?

  • @bladrunner6 ??? You don't make any sense mate.

  • What cut of this movie should I see? This final cut? The director's cut of Kingdom of Heaven is incredible.

  • @aahznightsky i say the original, the international, the directors cut and the final cut.

  • They should've released this film in theaters

  • I know Harrison Ford did NOT want to do the voice-over, but, in my opinion, it DID add to the feel of the movie. He performed it as dull as possible and THAT added to it. I saw this when it was first released in theaters back in 1982 and THAT is the way I'll always think of it. Regardless, this movie is a masterpiece and remains one of my all-time favorites...

  • @tew8197 yes. i am complete agreement with you on the matter of the voice-over.

  • @tew8197 I didn't see it in 1982 but much later in 1990 but i remember it as the version with the voice over as well and i myself do also feel it added a feel to the movie. Hardly ANYONE says that but it seems that you and i and 11 other people do agree ;)

Just out of curiosity, when the Final Cut came out there were about 4 versions released in a box set. Was one of those versions the original with the voice over and if so was it "also" digitally remastered?

  • @blade004 Come to find out, the version I saw was the 1982 International Release. (The most vivid scene, in my opinion, was what Batty did to Tyrell. You don't see that in the other versions.)

  • @tew8197 Oh you mean when the blood streams from Tyrell's eyes as Roy's fingers go into his eye sockets yes?

  • @tew8197 Exactly.

  • @blade004 All films on DVD or Blu-Ray are "digitally remastered" one way or another. You can't just do a straight transfer.

  • @tew8197 The narration utterly ruined the film for me. That and the infuriating contrived ending. I saw the studio version when it played in theaters, and I hated it. Luckily some friends dragged me to the premier of the director's cut in San Fran. I staggered out in a daze. I have watched the director's cut at least a dozen times on tape and DVD since then, and it is like new every time.

  • @JiveDadson I guess it's just how it's remembered. I've seen all of the versions and the International one I first saw is the one I'll always associate with it. I agree with the "happy ending" not being the best way to end it, but I never cared for the unicorn dream, either. Luckily, everyone has their own opinions about it...and that's what makes the world go 'round!

  • I realized something at the end of the movie recently. With the 4 year lifespan almost ending, why have bladerunners hunt down the replicants if they are going to die soon anyway? LOL!

  • @conservative608 Because they can still go around killing people, Say a replicant has a four year life and escapes at age one then he has three years of murdering and whatever else before it dies so Bade Runners get rid of the long term problem.

  • I have the 4 Disc Collectors Edition with the U.S. Theatrical Version and I think that is the best one because it has the voice over narration which explains a few things that seem to be open to interpretation in other versions such as if your not a cop your "little people". Although the ending of the theatrical version didn't fit in a world in which the environment went to heck. If they wanted an escape ending, have it be on a space ship headed off-world.

  • best trailer ever

  • most people who say this movie is boring are stupid, i know everyone is entitled to their own opinions but most people go into watching this movie and expect lost of action blowing up shooting dodging bullets like its fucking rambo or the matrix, it's not, blade runner is a special movie where you have to pay attention to almost every detail to make out for the ending and understand is deckard a replicant or not?.

  • The Forever War is a decent sci fi book

  • Blade Runner was disappointingly boring after watching Akira.

  • @YesWeCantaloupe How was it boring in comparison to Akira? I've never seen either movie so I'm really curious.

  • @animenice Blade Runner is a film noir detective story set in the future. Akira is set in 2019 Neo Tokyo and it's a roller coaster action movie. I'm talking lots of ball-numbing action scenes 'til you drop! It's a movie that makes you think also.

  • @YesWeCantaloupe dystopian sci-fi never makes you think? It is the cheapest way to appeal to the LCD. All dystopia is bullshit -- including 1984

  • @YesWeCantaloupe I've seen both Akira and Blade Runner and was pleased with both.. They are completely separate stories after all..

  • Obama is a replicant.

  • Man this trailer sucks.. And why am I hearing Clint Mansel's soundtrack of Moon on this trailer??

  • @Hertje73 You don´t. It´s "The Fountain" ;)

  • this was based off a true story

  • And then the ending of the prequel is where the beginning of blade runner begins and they could use old footage of dekker in it. Just an idea but i'd go and see it.

  • Love this movie I just might buy it on bluray along with avatar on bluray.

  • @teta809 lol why do you buy movies?

  • @parkour720 lolI love movies and ever since I saw the dark knight in blueray I fell in love with the bluray.

  • great direction from ridley scott, great book from p k dick and the result is a classic.blade runner,2001,solaris are the movies that makes me follower of sci-fi movies and books.

  • watch?v=_ViVE125s8Y

  • hail to the king

  • I've never seen this film.... at least not yet.

  • "The film that started it all"

  • One of the greatest films ever made and definitely the best sci-fi! Final cut is the best version of it. Oh... and fuck avatar!

  • @limokontore While I totally agree (got the boxed set) Ridley Scott's next movie "Forever War" will be strongly influenced by "Avatar". He went on to say he thought Cameron was a "genius".

  • @limokontore

    fuck avatar indeed

  • @limokontore

your a fucking retard this AND avatar are good

  • @Lordi465 disagree.

  • @bloodnoseThePirate

even if you dont like avatar there are still worse movies out there to complain about

  • @limokontore

Star Wars: A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back are both better than Blade Runner.

  • @24jackbauer10 nope, so fuck you :)

  • @ridlazz921

Yes, Star Wars: A New Hope won six oscars, how many did Blade Runner win?

  • @24jackbauer10

Blade Runner has become a cult classic. Grok that, cult classic. It's not about Oscars, it's about Sci-Fi.

Please tell a film that surpasses Blade Runner? Androids, robots, off-planet colonies, B R is all...

  • @Dajida

Sure Blade Runner is one of the greatest Science Fiction movies, It's fantasic, but nothing tops Star Wars. It's the greatest. I know oscars are kinda bullshit.

  • Bladerunner is fucking awesome!!!! I like how that tunnnel was used in Transformers and it seemd lame in there but in bladerunner it was great

  • your not garbage, your pussy!

  • Okay, as much as I love this movie, (it's on my top 5 favorite movies) it did not start the urban distopian future idea. Seriously, distopian sci-fi stuff pre-dates movies.

  • @thegmanyo Yes, but i think the idea is that it started the representation of a dystopian future IN MOVIES. Not overall, the idea had obviously already been used in other forms, especially literature. Not to mention the novel this film is based on.

  • Too bad she won't live. Then again, who does?

  • Top 5 films.

  • @rocklee1397 haha no doubt man, harrison fords best movie

  • @ChuckxXxXxXxXxXxXx Harrison Ford's best movie is Raiders of the Lost Ark. But Blade Runner is a masterpiece.

  • "The film that started it all."

    What did it start?

  • seth fart, before bladerunner, sci fi films had a utopia vision of the future, like logans run, time machine etc... thanks to blade runner, sci fi films have used the dark atmosphere consist of rain, pollution, over population, artificial memorys, can you name a couple films of the top of head? i'll give you matrix, total recall, minority report, crow, dark city just to name a few.

  • I think you should watch Logan's Run again. THX 1138, The Omega Man, Soylent Green etc etc all dystopian sci-fi films.

  • logans run had cheezy special effects. the whole point was to answer your question what did bladerunner start, and the answer is style. i wasn't talkin about story.

  • the time machine didnt have a utopian future. I don't know about the film, but the eloi and morlock thing in the book wasn't exactly utopian.

  • the "look" of it did. i guess you didn't see the movie but the world above looked like paradise. I'm not talking about story, for the third time, i'm talking about set design on film.

  • Star Wars (ie the two that came before Bladerunner) wasn't utopian. But then I suppose that's neither earth nor the future. No rain either, and no night time scenes. Is there absolutely nothing before Blade runner?

  • The SETS were! the look and feel had the PG charm to them despite the peril. overall feeling of all pre bladerunner films wernt all that dark( and im talking about design of the future cities and worlds)

  • best movie ever

  • So hard to make a trailer of this masterpiece. This movie is one of its kind....

  • I heard that Phil Dick once said if you see me driving to Hollywood I'll be dead on the steering wheel. Or words to that effect.

That said Blade Runner, Total Recall, Minority and A Scanner Darkly are all good films. You can tell the people who made them really loved his work.

    Let's forget about Paycheck.

  • except Blade Runner, because the guy who wrote the original screen play didn't really like the book but thought it would make a sweet movie. ridley scott never read the book.

that said, it's still a brilliant interpretation of the book.

  • This movie is on tonight at 9:00pm on BBC2!!! I'm gonna relax tonight and watch it.

By the way, that is UK.

  • A university project is looking for participants in a study of Blade Runner. Please visit my profile/channel for more info and for a link to the survey.

Please do not mark as spam. This is a university study of THIS film. Thanks!

  • It's close to 30 years and it's still fresh.

However, those skimmers are just 10 years away.

  • so is this a buy? or what bcz i wanna know

  • if you have a blu ray player pick up the final cut on blu ray. never looked/edited better. genius film.

  • Comment removed

  • "Time to die!!!"

  • One of the best S&F of all time !!

The movie together with the music of (the genius) Vangelis ,those 2 together is just perfect

better than a lot of crap these days !

  • @mertjematje I hear they are trying to remake it. I think this is a film best left alone. There will never be another blade runner really, this movie is a legend.

  • I totaly agree , leave it alone , this film is one of a kind

    Have a nice christmass

  • All time favorite movie. Everything about this movie is so beautiul in every way possible. a five star film

  • music is from the fountain, great score

  • i watched the final cut 2day i did not get the ending?

  • Not exactly , Neuromancer by William Gibson started it , but the themes of Cyberpunk have been around in film for a long time , example would Metropolis 1927 film , 1984 , etc

but most of the credit goes to William Gibson for coining the multitude of words invented to describe Cyberpunk , This film is still hallmarked as one of the finest examples of what a Cyberpunk should look and feel like ,

  • There's an interview with Gibson where he says that the he saw Bladerunner while still writing Neuromancer (that was a couple of years before the publication of Neuromancer) and he felt lost and helpless, thinking about how accurate Scott's vision was to his own, thinking that everyone was going to blame him (Gibson) of ripping off Scott's imagery

  • No one can blame Gibson , he really helped bring the genre into a class of it's own , as a serious form of literature , Just as Scott brought it into a serious league of film making

  • got some chop? Looks good, vector in on Rachel next time, inject technique into it. Be The Director? crash zoom on those big bad lips. good work though.

  • This trailer makes the movie look more action packed than it is. Anyways, making a sequel or a remake would be a huge mistake that would probably be panned critically, and ignored for the most part commercially. Remember, Blade Runner has the status of "cult" classic, meaning it wasn't particularly well received when it was first released. Even if a remake or sequel were as good, it could never achieve the same status as the original.

  • its more than cult fav, its A picture, Cult classic's are B pictures.

  • @chimpiki No but a prequel is what it needs, hear me out....in the original novel there is a lot more to the storyline before it cuts to the beginning of the film. A human colony on mars & the replicants kill people to escape to earth & there's a spaceship fight with lasers & then they crash to earth...now think about it, they could make a movie out of that with more action but not disturb or destroy the orginal [sequel] as it were.

  • @MrMoviemaster26 An interesting idea, but it's not as though it's necessary or essential that it be made. The question that needs to be asked is, "if it weren't for Blade Runner, would we make this sequel/prequel?" If the film can stand on its own, then okay, otherwise forget about it. Also, I'm not convinced by your intuition that the potential to ruin the mythology or universe would be completely subverted. Anything at all connected to the original story, even remotely, could be damaging.

  • @chimpiki Very good point but i just feel if there were to be a prequle then this would give more younger viewers an incentive to watch 'Blade Runner' and i understand perhaps the blade runner universe does not need to be expanded but it opens up so many new ideas and concepts. I just believe it would be a good way to get more attention to this film but then again it's just my opinon

  • @MrMoviemaster26 why do we need little kids watching blade runner?

  • @chimpiki My vision of the prequel is just to be based to the original novel and i don't really want anything altered but as i said it was just my idea but i agree it could perhaps ruin the imagination of the original so it's up to the big Hoillywood studios to take a risk in my concept for a new film in the series [If there were to be a series]

  • @MrMoviemaster26 Unless you're a hard-core sci-fi fan a movie based on the original novel would alienate a lot of people. I'm a hard-core fan and didn't find the novel itself appealing. What made Blade Runner so good was a combination of the original story and Ridley Scott's unique vision. Last I heard Scott had no interest doing another BR movie. And the Hollywood suits would probably turn into a hi-tech action thriller. Yuck!
