i dont find any thing special in this engine , its just v16 with 4 turbos and 1000hp , they can make v18 and more and increase gear ratio so its produce more speed by more power , by the way , in 1992 JUN corp in Japan tested their nissan Z with v6 full modefied in engine and it rached speed of 430 km/h (v6 in 1992) , bugatti is not the fastest car "BUT" THE Fastes production car , they can make more powerfull cars in japan and euro , but they dont want , its all about business
You can argue all you want about more cylinders & gear ratios etc, bottom line is, this kicks ass & is reliable & if one does blow we'll know all about it.
I could argue that BMW were getting 1500Bhp out if a 4 cyl 1.5ltr back in early 80's.
But I won't. Why? Because it wasn't a production car or engine!
yes its kicks ass & is reliable and cool and special , but lets focus on engine , it has 1001 hp with 16 Cyl , thats mean 1001/16= 62.5 hp per cyl , to compare it to 8 cyl engine multiply it with 8, 62.5*8= 500 hp(if it was v8) ,,, the 2008 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 LZ3 has 505 hp @ 6300 rpm<--thas mean over 6300rpm it can go more than 505! and you have to consider that bugatti has 4 turbos ;) . (im talking about engine only)
its not the # of cylinders but the dispalcement. the vyeron is 8 litre the corvette is 7. so 72 bhp/litre for the corvette and 125 for the veyron which would give the corvette 875. and its also not the # of turbos but the turbo pressure which i do not know off hand. the veyron is the most remarkable car made even if some cars are more powerful, faster, or a better gt car that is also a supercar , this will have to beaten all the way around to lose its top spot.
There is always some ricer trying to downplay anything that's not Japanese. Jun made ONE fast car..big deal. Have you ever heard of the salt flats? Google it if you want to see some truly fast, purpose built, one off, cars. Until Nissan makes a PRODUCTION car, with pwr steering, pwr windows, pwr brakes, stereo, Nav, heated seats, cupholders, leather, and docile enough for your grandma to drive daily...shut your pie hole.
In theory, as 4-in-line twin-overhead engine for an example, 1 cam works only with inlet valves and the other works with outlets only. Well, is this the case for this W16, whose 2 banks each with zigzag-aligned 8 cylinders? Although each bank has cylinders offset to one another, it still should be treated as an ordinary V16 engine so quad-cam mechanism should work, right?

kayne001: No CAD program in the world can do those types of graphic processing. It's either 3D Studio Max, or Maya, or something else, but it's in no way Autocad. Autocad isn't even a high-level CAD program, and the high level ones can't even pull something like that off (CATIA, Pro/Engineer, SolidEdge, etc)

actually its a w16, not a v16
jasoninarmy 3 years ago
the first veyron concept did actually have a v18 engine but they had ditch that idea because of to many engine failures

They most likely used 3D Studio MAX.
Wip3ou7 5 years ago
probably a propreitary form of Autocad or some kind of cad software, not maya
kayne001 5 years ago
Does anyone know what 3D software they used to make that autoCAD, Maya?
